Glad you mentioned the sharks swim away, I was thinking it might not be an enjoyable swim in the ocean having them all around. Thank you for giving us as much information, you guys are awesome! Maldives is definitely in my bucket list
Your videos helped me decide for LUX* South Ari Atoll.I am surprising my husby with a trip for his birthday in April 2025. It is still some time to go but I already booked 2 different types of rooms: 3 nights in a Beach Villa and 4 nights in a Romantic Over Water Villa with pool (just like the one you guys stayed at). And because I booked in advance, I can also save some money till the trip, LUX* charges a 30% deposit and the balance can be paid till 30 days prior to your arrival. Yes, The Maldives are expensive if you want to experience the whole Over Water+All Inclusive + Romantic Candle Light Dinner at the Beach thing. But I am sure it will be every penny worth it! And for birthday celebrations, they also offer complementary cake and you can CHOOSE what cake you want! Just say it and they will make it happen ❤
Thank you, no I’m actually filming using the iPhone 14pro max not in selfie mode but the back camera, just because it’s higher quality and I can choose which lens for which shot. Hope this helps
One possible issue with the speedboat, while rare, it can be too rough for the speedboat to go out. Often when it is too rough, it can last for a couple of days. Our trip about six weeks ago, for 3 days we couldn't get to the island of Omadhoo which is located in South Ari by boat. I'd imagine in addition to seaplanes giving resort kickbacks, the resorts don't want you showing up sour demanding to be refunded for the missed nights. The other thing that one needs to figure out at these resorts is food and activities. So many will skip the full board are shocked how expensive al la carte really was and the same for the activities. Usually, resort websites will list the full board pricing and maybe the activities but if they don't, you can email them and usually they'll send you a list including al la carte menus
Hey there. Yes we were there 3 weeks ago and yes speedboats were rough but seaplanes were canceled as well. Many guests were trapped on all of the islands
Thanks for making this detailed and informative video! How do you check which resorts allow you to arrive on your own private speedboat transfer? I feel like if I email the resorts to ask whether I can arrange my own transfer, they will definitely say no.
We have been to the Lux thanks to you guys and it was amazing!! We want to go back but somewhere with more marine life and corals what do you recommend?
Correct, however there are some promotional nights where they might have specialty dinning which can be an up charge. Of course they are always trying to get more out of you. But for the most part you’d be all set with the all inclusive package
Yes there are but on private resorts they are constantly cleaning them so you really don’t see much little if non. On local islands you will see more cause they don’t clean as much but it’s not so much like Mexico and other places
Thank you for the video, you mentioned that the hotel will insisted they require mandatory transfer. In that case, will they allow us to check in if we arrive by a private transfer? Thank you in advance.
Hello, we would like to use prive speedboat to go from Male International Airpot to Dgihurah. We are four people. Will cost be 65 dollar for all of us or more than that? Thanks in advance.
Are the water villas connected to the beach villa's? I mean like if we stay in a water villa then are we able to walk down to the beach resorts and likewise? Thanks for all this info though a lot to take in 😅
Over water villas are usually away from beach villas over the water in other words you’d have to walk over the water via the jetty to get to you overwater villa. Yes you have access to the entire private island except the staff area. Hope this answered your question
Thank you so much. Another question please, For our meals etc we would have to walk out onto the beach villas side as I can see no service or restaurants on the water villas itself.
You can not just show up to resorts. They are private and MOST of them do not allow visitors. There are some tours that are specifically made for Resort Day Trips but it depends on the island you are staying on. Maafushi has the most options for that. Check out our Maldives travel guides livingtheglobe.net/maldives
Hi, thanks for your amazing video. Being a vegetarian I was thinking of opting for a'la carte instead of all inclusive at Lux resort and your video helped. One question, does Lux let you book your own transfers or its mandatory to fly via a seeplane?
Hi they do but it costs $400usd for a private speedboat. For privatetransfers contact Mua on whatspapp+960 7 800644 he charges $80round trip per speedboad. Mention Irina &Devon to get this rate
Thank you so much for your quick response. What month did you go? Was told in the wet season there’s many mosquitoes spreading dengue fever etc. People still contracting the virus even though they have used insect repellent.
Hi there who did you use for transfers to lux south ari? How much was it.? The price for two people the resort told me was $1500aud for two people. It’s almost more than our international flights from Sydney Thank you
Hi! Never get the price from resorts 🤣🤣🤣 we took the seaplane one way but if you want to save, you need to take a public speedboat from the airport to the local island Dhiguarh i think its about $60usd pp one way and then hire a private speedboat from Dhiguarh to Lux. You can use our trusted guy there Halym. If you have IG please reach out to us there because its easier to message
Actually just went to the lux resort website they don’t allow you to book a room unless you purchase their mandatory seaplane flights. It’s unbelievable.
Things I don't like about the private islands apart from the sky high cost 1. The forced early checkouts. Your checkout might be 12pm but they'll wake you up at 6am because their stupidBoat leaves early 2. Assigned seats. Restaurants have seats assigned so you can't just sit anywhere you like 3. Designated swim areas. Some resorts don't like it if you swim anywhere and they'll ask you to gtfo to the lagoon 4. Being very very greedy wrt basic stuff like charging 6dollars for bottle of water 5. All inclusive is not all inclusive because of greed. Full board doesn't include water like wtf! What's funny is a local island will not have your hotel impose any of these restrictions
@@Livingtheglobe I am planning to book Villa park , sun island but I was told by the agency that all inclusive covers the transportation cost as well .. what do you think about that ?
@porscha1563 it definitely wasn't anything special. Good for a night or 2 for the experience, but after that, you much rather be closer to the amenities and activities. Walking back and forth from the bungalow to the restaurants etc was extremely tedious. Service can get tied up with every other bungalow unless you get a personal butler at extra cost. I would've much rather enjoyed a beach front property closer to everything at my fingertips. Further away you are from the shore the more tedious it becomes to explore the surrounding scenery and mingle with the locals. If you're not a sociable person, you just want to lock yourself in the bungalow, are able to afford the all inclusive food and beverage packages with personal butler(recommended you get a private butler as service amongst the bungalows can get tied up with other patrons, especially if you're the furthest one out). The it would be perfect for you. For me, the novelty wore off quite quickly as i do like to explore and visit other restaurants, not just the ONE the resort offers
The most informative video I've seen on the Maldives. Thank you so much!
Glad you enjoyed it! We have 30 informative maldives videos. Hope you’ve see other as well
Clear water would be my preference...Gr8 video as usual..Thanks!
Mine too! Thank you for your support 😘🙏
We loved Pullman Maldives for all inclusive.
Glad you mentioned the sharks swim away, I was thinking it might not be an enjoyable swim in the ocean having them all around. Thank you for giving us as much information, you guys are awesome! Maldives is definitely in my bucket list
Lol, yes they are tiny literally baby sharks and they are never around when people are
Swimming

Loving your Maldives content thank you! Are you shooting with a GoPro for your face to camera content or something else?

Wow, The trick at the end was a major help! I'm in Dhigurah right now.
Wow! We will be there in 4days!

I believe in ALL INCLUSIVE.😊. Will be staying at an all inclusive in a few months.
Nice!
When are you going?
If you pay extra for all inclusive, once you’re on the resort you don’t have to pay extra money for food and alcohol right?
Correct, however there are some promotional nights where they might have specialty dinning which can be an up charge. Of course they are always trying to get more out of you. But for the most part you’d be all set with the all inclusive package

Yes but you have to email them once you book and let them know you do not need a transfer
Thank you so much for this very useful information!
My top two are Ozen Life or Lux . Which is your fav❤😊
Awesome helpful video!

no, from Male airport to Dhigurah, it's a public speed boat and it's price per person

Hi, thanks for your amazing video. Being a vegetarian I was thinking of opting for a'la carte instead of all inclusive at Lux resort and your video helped. One question, does Lux let you book your own transfers or its mandatory to fly via a seeplane?
You can book a speed boat from Male to Dihgurah then a speed boat from Dihgura 5 min to LUX😜
Very helpful information, thank you.
You are welcome!
Can you pls suggest any agencies who can take you for private snorkelling away from your resort? We are staying at the Ritz Carlton.
It’s not an agent it’s local contact. If you can kindly reach out to us we can provide information: motiapp.com/profile/livingtheglobe
Hi! Does Centara Grand provide a speedboat service from Dhigurah? If not, how can I get to the resort like you did?

How many days would you recommend a couple spend there on their honeymoon?
Depends where you are coming from. Min a week. Ideal 10-12 days 🥰☀️
I do not see the speed boat transfer number. Can you please share?
+960 796-7428 Halym
Also did you go to Maldives in the wet season ? Worried about the mosquitoes.
Depends on the winds. They spay the island as well but you can buy spray at the airport for about $3.5USD
Thank you so much for your quick response. What month did you go? Was told in the wet season there’s many mosquitoes spreading dengue fever etc. People still contracting the virus even though they have used insect repellent.
@user-uh2qn1ez8z we were there in March and we are here now
Oh wow. ! Lucky you. What resort are you staying now?
Very useful, Thanks!

What resort is best for solo travellers? Im looking at going in a few weeks ❤
Hmmm maybe oblu xprerience they have a lot of party 😃

Does all inclusive means I don’t have to pay for transfer ?
No! You have to pay for transfers. Only a few resorts offer free transfers
@@Livingtheglobe I am planning to book Villa park , sun island but I was told by the agency that all inclusive covers the transportation cost as well .. what do you think about that ?
