    I looooved my stay in Dhigurah. I stayed in Maafushi too, but the two don’t compare. Also scuba diving…. Both are just as beautiful, but when we go back we’re going back to Dhigurah and diving with oceanholics again. Honestly such a great gang and they made us feel at home ❤

    Hi. Very good options for travelling the Maldives on a budget are Thoddoo and Omadhoo and Hangnamedhoo. In some cases you can take the local ferry from one island to another. Maldives means Home of the tuna by the way. Greetings, Dominik.

    Çok güzel bir karşılaştırma olmuş gerçekten. Teşekkürler! Temmuz'un ortasında bir hafta Dhigura'ya gidiyoruz ailecek..İyi ki Dhigura'yı seçmişiz. Sessizlik Huzur tertemiz deniz ince beyaz kum. Daha ne olsun? Umarım hava güzel olur temmuzda.

    As a Maldivian and With Experience.
    Dhigurah is better than Maafushi, Cause Dhigurah is silence and many People don’t visit there, cause dhigurah is located in South Ari Atoll which is people have to Cross the Channel is Called (Ali huras Kandu) is a Second Largest sea in the Maldives. Many people chose to go from Aeroplane to Ari Atoll. To Go Maafushi you don’t need to Cross Large Sea Channel, it is more cheaper and Faster. Also Maafushi has 2 Private Company which is giving Ferry Service 6 Times a Day. Means 60 to 45 People in a Round from Male - Maafushi. According to My research Maafushi has more than 60 Guest House/Hotels unlike Dhigurah. 😢

    Thank you for your video. I was in Dhigurah two years ago for diving Sure the diving part it’s great, it is a beautiful island but I felt it is mostly for couples (Maldives most probably is for couples 😂 ), not very much to do around the island than diving, take photos, sunbathing and walks. So I was looking for something that is closer to Male because after 20 hours of travelling by car and plane it is really hard and also something more entertaining. Now being in a couple, this video helps as it highlighted all the pros and cons

    I will mention, look at recent maldives whaleshark videos, there's at least 10 if not 20 people in the water. If you're lucky, you may get some "clean" footage of the whale shark without other divers but it's doubtful you get a photo of just the whale shark, yourself and your significant other/family without other divers in the footage. The Maafushi tours that include nurse sharks, they flew a drone over just your group, you also will probably swim with turtles and see dolphins. For most, the nurseshark tour and footage exceeds expectations while the whale shark tour and footage will probably be below expectations

    Just a random thought, if one wanted to visit both islands and do the whale shark swim, go from Male to Maafushi, talk to the Maafushi whale shark tour operator, see if they'll drop you off at Dhigurah after the whale shark swim is over. Then have them take you back to Maafushi on a different day

    • @Livingtheglobe
      @Livingtheglobe  6 місяців тому +1

      We are excited about your vacation. Bliss is good but it depends what you like. The rooms are really small, no room to keep your luggage open. Maybe the have bigger rooms. Their breakfast is really good. Wifi was bad but they were looking to fix it. The saff & location are excellent. Keep in mind they are tours are limited to specific days and get cancelled if not enough people go. If tours are important to you, i would look for a bigger place with more staible tours. Or book a private tour

    Hi!! Thanks for your video! I read, in a post on tripadvisor, that the bikini beach, in Dhigurah, has been greatly reduced by the Maldivians and that the sandbank is not bikini free, this is true or not? and i've another question, December is a good month for whale shark and manta? Thnaks so much

    • @Livingtheglobe
      @Livingtheglobe  11 місяців тому +1

      There is only a small area for the locals where it says no bikini. Everone on the sandbank was in the bikini in March 2023 not sure if anything changed now. Yes, December is perfect for both. Whaleshakes are there all year around but during monsoon season it might not be safe to go. Anyway, it is never a guarantee to see a whaleshark

    Maafushi is a sad case of unsustainable development in Maldives, and a case studies of how not develop local tourism. The murkiness is from land reclamation due government bad decision making to make more land for commercial purposes like more guest houses by the elites and corrupt politicians. This is exactly opposite to what Maldives sell as Sun, Sea and Sand, always check for map before going to islands whether any reclamation project is nearby, it will spoil your good memories in Maldives.
