This video has effectively squashed any thoughts I was giving to modifying the stock pipes on my V9 Bobber Sport. I'll order some aftermarket if I do anything at all.

When you ride you hear a better sound not because of load itself, but because load permits you to wide open the throttle and hear the engine sound coming from the airbox. You can try that, at the same rpm if you yank the throttle you hear this different sound that come from a different side

You are talking about induction noise. On a stock intake most of that is not present. The stock exhaust is louder.

@@DaBinChe excuse me for my technically poor english, I'm not a native speaker.
I can hear it very well in my V7, but my exhaust is not uncorkerd as yours because that is illegal in Italy. I should put a valve in the wall of the last two chambers to make the noise adjustable.
Anyway, your video has been precious to me to plan this project, thanks!

@@DuffMan-lh9lc I personally don't like a lot of noise, LOVE my electric motorcycle, the silence, the smoothness. This V9 exhaust was opened up by the previous owner and I closed it back up. The noise was bothering me. Yeah you have Euro5 soon to be Euro6 regulations to contend with. We have something similar in the US but less strict and modifying it also illegal here but many people do it cause there is no checking on it. I don't have the MotoGuzzi anymore but want to get another, maybe V100, sometime in the future. The engine configuration is one of my favorites.

@@DaBinChe a very loud bike is always annoying in the long run, but if you can choose when to be quiet (for example in the city) and when to be throaty (on the countryside or mountains) would be perfect!

@@DuffMan-lh9lc That would be neat to have. An aftermarket company named FlyinMiata makes one such type of exhaust for the Mazda Miata where you can control the sound. Called Hush-O-Matic

You could probably find an intact set of original mufflers from someone who put on aftermarket pipes.

Already welded it back to stock and sold bike.
