Wrong Way To Restore An Axe?

Got the chance to breathe new life into this forgotten and useful tool. I think it’s a carpenter’s axe. I kept the rugged look and didn’t try to shave it down to be yet another shiny piece of metal.

I'm sure you've learned by now, but the weird notch is meant for pulling nails as that seems to be a carpenters hatchet design 😉

I love the ASMR of the thunderstorm in the background. Kind of relaxing We're several months away from that here in Alberta, unfortunately.
The pitting in the axe head handle makes it look like a stone axe. You can tell everyone you chipped it out with a flint!
Great job on the handle. It helps if you have a really good eye (which you have and I definitely don't!)
You did a fantastic job on this. Most people would have looked at that pathetic chunk of metal and tossed it away.

Add water in a bucket or bowl with some molasses add rusty metal cover it and wait a few days place in a warm area the rust will wash off easily. Look it up. Btw great vid.

Can you explain the Old Spice on belt?

A squeeky belt means the belt is either under the wrong tension, dirty, wet, stretched, or rotted. You can use belt dressing to temporarily fix the squeeking, or a water displacer like WD-40, and antiperspirant does the same thing (though I would imagine not as well). Decent way to get rid of the noise for a bit until you get a new belt or adjust the tension.
