Physician Assistants can diagnose, treat and prescribe medications. While they assist the doctors during surgeries and other procedures, they can also serve as independent practitioners. Physician Assistants are trained to meet with patients with or without a doctor present. They follow-up and correspond with patients and help facilitate their treatment. Constant communication with the doctors is a vital part of the team work approach between Physician Assistants and the doctors.
