    My shoulder gets stuck in that exact position that you described. I’ve never heard anyone explain what’s happening to me the exact way that you did. That information alone genuinely makes me feel much more at ease that I know what’s wrong with me now so thank you!

    i've had pain in my shoulder and neck and have gone to multiple doctors, physiotherapists, have done multiple rounds of Xray and ultrasound and everytime they told me nothing was wrong. Finally after 8 years I convinced a doctor to write an MRI test and still they told me nothing was wrong. Even though I had described my symptoms in detail, no doctor was able to help me. Being frustrated with the medical system in Canada, I got a family friend who is a surgeon in another country to look at my MRI and what do you know, I have a Labrum tear in my right shoulder which has gone unaddressed for many years and gotten progressively worse. Long story short, never trust radiologist reports and always get a second opinion.

      Same thing with me. For years. Finally got an mri. Was told they’d notify me. No one ever did. When I called after 10 days I was told there’s nothing they can do. Except call a surgeon. Both shoulders rotator cuff tear, one side completely detached. Chronic rotator cuff disease and a slew of other damage. Really pisses me off. I went for injections till Covid hit then I avoided hospitals & doctors until DH had massive heart attack in 2021. I just learned how to ignore the pain. Except at night when arms & hands go numb. Keeps me up. No desire to get involved with the medical industry anymore. No trust.

      @@jatteam8615 I'm sorry to hear that, sadly the medical system doesn't do preventative care. They will let an injury be until it requires surgery and they tell you to deal with the pain with meds. None of the doctors even look at imaging and just read the report, I know how to read too I don't need the doctor to read it for me.what I need is a doctor who knows what they are talking about. My hands also go numb at night so I get your pain. I'm still trying to get help by going to physio but so far nothing helps.

      Can yiu share more detail about yiur pain ect. Same thing, in canada, and it sucks having free health care, takes forever to get tests and drs don’t like to give MRIs fir things like this. I’m having difficulty trying to explain my pain and where it hurts.

    • @AZgeravie
      @AZgeravie 5 місяців тому +2

      @@Dan-qt7kq honestly I have a hard time describing it too. First of all my entire arm feels unsupported. There is a pain shooting down my shoulder, through the elbow and up my thumb. My shoulder cracks and pops like crazy and there is a constant pinch in my neck. I feel pain going up from shoulder to my neck and jaw. I feel sliding in my neck and shoulder, like the bones are sliding against each other. all these sensations are on my right side 80% of the times and the other 20% switches to my left. I don't think I have a single problem causing this but an array of problems that are feeding Into each other.

    I had a weight lifting accident 5 years ago. I heard a loud pop while doing shoulder shrugs. I’ve been in pain for 5 years. There’s only been two weeks during that whole time I felt relief. Hej, I got my results from the MRI last week and it happens that I have rotatorcuff partial tears and labrum tear. The diagnos I had befor this, was impingment syndrom. Anyways, thanks to the algorythm I found your long video about the rotatorcuff tear and in that very moment my healing began just by doing that simple excercise with a little pillow on the side OMG, after almost five weeks with that movement alone I am beginning to gain mobility and pain reduction. In two weeks I have ultrasound, but I suppose they will be able to see I am already healing. OF COURSE, it takes time, patience and discipline. I give you my admiration and respekt for helping people absolutely free of charge ❤❤🙏🙏

    i tore my labrum 6 yrs ago surfing and after listening to this i must of tore my rotator cuff also because it was very painful for about 3 weeks then slowly over 2-3mths got better quickly so never did anything about it until i had a small slow speed car accident. now 5mths post accident i have neck/muscle pain that doesn't go away. shoulder specialist is not sure if its neck related or shoulder related, but he does recommend surgery. I have done physio with some ok results. just had a cortisone injection in shoulder to see if that helps release neck tension. 50yr old active male

    Tore my shoulder in little league baseball at 11/12 yrs old and kept injuring my shoulder yearly until my mid 20s and then it got stronger and was more sore than my other shoulder when using both but not many other issues. Hit 39 and had a big pop in the shoulder and regained some range of motion but then at 40 had a bigger pop the hurt my collar bone and shoulder was screwed and can't lift coffee cup most days. Finally went to doctor at 41 and I've got osteoarthritis and a torn labrum. Years of compensating with the other side caused imbalance and wore other side out faster too I'm sure

The VA and the company's doctor looked at Xray and initially said I only had a strain to the shoulder until the MRI was preformed.... what in your professional opinion can I do for this or will I ever be able to get back to work I had this by pulling a rope. Hey Frederic, we are so sorry to hear that you are having to deal with that labrum and tendon tear, that is no fun 😞 We see this tends to happen to people doing physically active work. We also see these people get back to feeling normal and strong again once they fix the underlying root problem.
      These tears usually happen because of the underlying root problem putting bad stresses through the tendons, ligaments and labrum. We have a program specifically designed to correct the root problem, it is called the Rotator Cuff Tear Recovery Program. This program can also help your situation, learn more about it here:

    Hello, I had a minor motorcycle incident and fell on my shoulder, it felt like I broke my collarbone. After x-rays, I was told that nothing was broken and it was a shoulder contusion, so I iced it and took anti-inflamatories, with limited movement the pain became more tolerable and subsided for the most part after roughly 4 days, as long as I didn't over do it or move quickly. Last night I applied a ice pack, but noticed movement in the collarbone / shoulder area, I became very worried that something was not connected, so today I limiting my movements. After watching your videos I am still unclear that it will heal itself and what I should be doing moving forward. I am 62 yr. old and desperately want to get back to normal. Not knowing what is really going on in my RT shoulder, labrum tear, or any other shoulder tears is tough and of coarse how long to recover. Any words of advice would be very welcome, thanks... Todd

    Should you have surgery if it didn't get better after PT???

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  3 місяці тому

      Hi Xleon,
      Deciding on surgery is a deeply personal choice. While our focus is on helping people avoid surgery whenever possible, we understand that sometimes it may be necessary. However, we believe it should be considered only after exploring all other options.
      If you feel that surgery is the best path for you, it’s important to trust your instincts and do what feels right. That said, if you still have at least 10% range of motion and aren’t experiencing prolonged locking in the shoulder, there might be a chance to avoid surgery with the right exercises performed in a specific way.
      It’s worth noting that surgery carries risks, including the possibility that it may not resolve the issue. Additionally, altering the anatomy through surgery can make future healing more complex.
      It’s natural to feel uncertain about the best course of action. Remember, you know your body better than anyone, so it’s crucial to educate yourself as much as possible about your injury to make a well-informed decision about your next steps.
      We have a couple of playlists you might find helpful for your shoulder. You can access them here:
      “Shoulder Pain Labrum Tear Help”
      ua-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1magqnzx1pmLy_mF5r-S85d7.html
      "Rotator Cuff Tear Help"
      ua-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mbQ_-1YFfEePnrcxfwwf9_k.html
      Start with one or two exercises, beginning with the smallest range of motion and the lowest intensity. As you feel stronger, you can gradually increase both the range of motion and intensity. It’s best to do these exercises every day throughout the day. Aim to tire out the muscle without losing form or control. Consistency is key. Always avoid working through pain; soreness and mild discomfort are normal, but pain is not.
      We hope you found this information helpful to you. We'd love to hear how you are doing as you progress.🙌 Please take care!

    Dull achy pain? Mine pain is about a 10+ and just progressing as i await my MRI results from a fall last year. My surgeons have been slowly working their way through my arm. Bicep tendon tear at the insertion point first, then my tfcc tendon, and now my shoulder. I am pretty sure my labrum is torn as i cannot move my arm backwards or rotate it towards the ground. If i do i get an insane amount of pain in that region.

      I feel for you. 😢 I'm dealing with a busted shoulder too. Waiting on the MRI but the doctor said it's probably a torn labrum. Same shoulder was dislocated years ago and it feels like it's trying to jump out again!

      @@bipolarbear7325 good luck with the torn labrum. I'm waiting on a 3rd opinion with the probability of suing my previous surgeon for delayment of treatment. Went to PT twice after stopping due to pain. She had me continue and pain still worsened. She told me to go to PT on prescription PAIN medication! I kept telling her how much pain I was in and she would not do surgery telling me that I had a "frozen" shoulder even though my only limitation was due to pain. My doctor and physical therapist both said I do not have a frozen shoulder. She refused surgery but then when my 3rd opinion got my paperwork it said surgery on my chart. She was trying to cover up her bullshit and I have everything documented. I see this new surgeon next week. Hoping I can get this surgery so I can get my life back. I cannot work until my shoulder is fixed and at this point I'm really hoping I don't have to have a whole shoulder replacement since my socket has been grinding this whole time with noticeable swelling that reaches out all the way to my sternum now.

      Same. I got hit by the metal bar on the back of a semi. It's my fault. I made a moterized bike and put the clutch next to the breaks. Mistakes happened, and i got hit by the truck.
      5 years later, my fiance hates my shoulder cracking ad popping. I went to lift our minifrudge, and across the room, she heard a loud pop, and i dropped the fridge. orthopedic gave me cortisone and told me physically therapy, and called it a day. With nothing improving, my fiance made me go to a new orthopedic. He wants to operate and said if they wanted to find a labrum tear, they should have done my mri with contrast.
      I am 22 and my 28yr old brother says im falling apart faster than our grandpa

      My doctor told be that pt can’t fix the shoulder completely but it could get the job done if your not doing any intense physical activities. I just decided to go for surgery because I’m young and I’d like to not worry about my shoulder every time I play basketball or ski. The only downside is the 6 month recovery time, but this could be much different from your case.

    Can I tear this by sleeping on my shoulder? I’m in dire pain and think I slept on it for so long I did something to it. I actually use my should and arm as a pillow as I sleep on my stomach. But I’m in dire pain for the last 3 months.

      Hey Tim, we are so sorry to hear about your intense shoulder pain. Although sleeping in uncomfortable positions does not help the issue, the root underlying cause of it pertains to a muscle imbalance.
      Offloading your shoulder properly, and then working on your muscle weaknesses will give you the best chances at healing it and improving your well being. Just in case you need it, we have a playlist with all of our content on shoulder labrum problems. Check it out down below:
