I use both of these products as well. In the spring, I do a split app of the granular pre-emergent and the hose end post emergent to keep the front weed free. It's been working pretty well. Awesome video brother!
Good stuff and I agree about the Spectracide pre-emergent. I used it during the winter and then again in the early spring and it really helped cut back on the number of weeds in my yard. Plus, the price is right at $13 for a 10 lbs. bag. Looking forward to more videos.
Right on man! You got the timing down just right. I did the same thing. I've done some other videos where I talked all about my schedule for it. I'll put it down in the fall, right after the first of the year, and then to start the spring. Can't beat the price! Appreciate ya watching. Thank you for your support!
I have used the Spectracide Weedstop post-emergent weed killer very successfully as you recommend, but I didn't know about the pre-emergent weed preventer. I will be looking for it next spring. Nice video.
Right on. That's awesome. Thanks for sharing. I've got a couple other videos that talk about the pre-emergent. It's definitely worth it. Appreciate ya watching! 👊
I used to buy cheap grass seed to fill in bare spots and then would start to see weird weeds starting in the yard. Sometimes it pays to spend a little more.
I’ve definitely seen all of these before in my lawn. Nothing beats the hand pulling methods, but for garlic / onion I have also had success with basic 3 way herbicide along with both Celsius and Monument. The spectricide product you recommended is also labeled to kill it. The only thing I’ve noticed that doesn’t work on it is prodiamine. I’m not sure if there is an effective pre emergent for it.
Great info! Thanks for sharing! I'm right there with ya. I'm not sure about the pre-em on it either. Fortunately, they're so few in number, I don't mind having to pull them. Actually gives me something to do haha. Appreciate ya watching!
I pull by hand the hairy bittercress about this time when the seeds are not exploding yet but there are other weeds with purple flowers that are too many to pick. I applied ortho weed and feed two weeks ago and didn't kill them.
Yeah, the purple flowering ones are bad in my neighborhood this year. For me, it's still too cool out to successfully spray the weeds. I wait until the temps go up a bit. Thanks for watching. Hope you're able to knock em out.
I don't start fertilizing until May and will do so monthly if the lawn looks like it needs it. Usually that is not the case. I would focus on a more nitrogen rich fertilizer to promote fast growth. But the faster growth won't really come until the heat goes up into the the 80s and 90s. Hope this helps. Appreciate ya.
Yeah! my biggest battle is dandilions. because Most peopel in my neighbourhood are renters and don't care about lawns. That is life. So I fight the battle but not as hard as at first.😁
Have a question are the emergents safe if pets are in my yard I have two huge Great Pyrenees dogs and I’m afraid that it may harm them and loved your video and I liked and and subscribed 👍 vid is 7 months old I hope you still get this and answer I’m a new home owner and a city girl so never had to worry about weeds but having an acre of land my back yard I’ve noticed is covered in all kinds of weeds can’t afford a landscaping co during quarantine so I found your video and very pleased I found it very informative ty
Thank you. Glad you found me. They aren't immediately safe, but since they should be watered in, they will be safe soon after that. To be extra safe, I keep my dog and kids out of the lawn for 24-48 hours after watering the product in. Hope this helps. Thanks again!
Thank you for this video. I'm out here in the Central Valley of California, and I'm trying to get rid of these grassy weeds that have shoots that go under the ground. I will dig them up and remove them, but they come back! They're getting dry right now due to the heat (?), and I will pull them out in fall. But they just keep coming back! I'm tired of pulling them out. Any idea what it is? It is not crabgrass! I have that, and I will be digging that out since there isn't a lot.
I don't see it mentioned on the label one way or another. Sorry I can't give you a definite answer but always follow the label to be safe. Unfortunately it doesn't say. Thanks for watching and the question.
Definitely one of the better weeds. A rich nitrogen plant. Just not so desirable if that's all you have and no grass. That was my case. The clover was so thick that the grass couldn't grow. And that's saying a lot since I have bermuda. It usually beats everything. Haha. Thanks for watching.
@@BudgetLawns ooo. Am in Indiana and no idea ehat grass type i have. But my personal yard, am going for a tall fescue(cool season), buffalograss(warm season) and clover lawn
No, they are not. I have to disclose that if they do. It's against UA-cam policies to get paid and not let viewers know. I just really like the products and have had good results. My whole channel is about helping other people have a nice lawn without spending a lot of money. Spectracide is one way to do that if you have weeds. I don't have any affiliate links or sell anything else. Talking about their products is just good content strategy. Most people have heard of them and may look for info about how to use them or how they work. It's to my advantage to share my experiences with them to draw more attention to the channel so it will grow. Thanks for watching and the question. I hope this clears that up. Appreciate you.
Janice - Instead of pouring chemicals all over the place - which will ent up in your food chain! Why don't you simply pull up the ones you don't want and eat the ones you do!!
Loving all the feedback from folks! Who knew talking about weeds was so fun? Does that make us weed geeks? I know I'm a nerd. I'm cool with that!
I use both of these products as well. In the spring, I do a split app of the granular pre-emergent and the hose end post emergent to keep the front weed free. It's been working pretty well. Awesome video brother!
Thank ya sir. Appreciate that. Glad you're seeing good results with them as well. Keep up the good work!
You've put names on the weeds I've dealt with in my hybrid Bermuda lawn. Thx so much.
Fantastic. I'm glad that helps. Appreciate you watching,. Thank you!
Excellent presentation, I still have a lot of work to go in cleaning up weed infestations on the perimeter of my property, always something to do!
Thanks man! Haha, yup just as soon as you get those cleared up, it will be on to the next thing.
☀️ Oh, yeah! Boy have I dealt with all 10! Not this year (I hope 😂)!! Great video! ☀️
Thanks man! That's right...this is the year they get destroyed!!!
Thanks for the knowledge. You are very informative. Keep educating us.
You're welcome. Thank you for the kind words. Appreciate you watching. Glad you found it helpful!

Appreciate it man! Looks like the battles are over for you as well. We've won the war!
That was a fun one! Very good info, I enjoyed learning about some other weeds that I haven’t seen lately.. 👍🏼
Thank ya brother. Let's hope we never see them haha!

I used Weed Stop as my post emergent. I do have Mesotrione but Weed Stop does a great job!
Dang right. Especially for 5 bucks for the hose end. Lowe's will mark them down like that from time to time. Hard to pass up. Thanks bud!
Budget Lawns I can wait until winter when the big box stores put them on clearance and pick them up for $1.99.
Even better! Hopefully we don't have to use it at all haha!
I used to buy cheap grass seed to fill in bare spots and then would start to see weird weeds starting in the yard. Sometimes it pays to spend a little more.
Great video Travis. I have dealt with most of those weeds myself. I am still battling clover at the in laws. 👍

Hi Travis, I have many bare spots that are filling in slowly. Should I continue fertilizing with 10-10-10 on a monthly basis. Thanks for your help.

Super video! I applauded for $5.00 👏👏
WOW! Thank you very much! I appreciate you!
Spotted spurge I have it. I call it the ghost ant lover, everywhere it gross there are ghost ants. And this weed is everywhere also in my flower pots.
Haha. Spurge is no fun. Appreciate ya watching and commenting.

Do they kill creeping Charlie?
It is listed on the label for weeds controlled. Thanks for watching.
Harry Bittercress and I have some crazy stories from high school. But then he stole my girlfriend... we don’t talk much any more
That sorry SOB. I don't feel guilty about nukin' him with the ole 2-4-D anymore!
My #1 would be creeping charlie
It's a pest for sure. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
4. To me a welcoming weed. in other words, I let it grow its there to do a job. it feels good under the toes.

wild garlic shoots taste like chives, the bulbs taste terrible.
Love me some chives. Thanks for watching and the feedback.
No pineapple express or OG kush? 😆
Haha. Medicinal is legal in AR. Maybe should take my agriculture skills elsewhere. Getting a permit is a you know what!

Can ya just dig up crabgrass?
You could. It’s a tough one. Gotta make sure you get it all. Appreciate the question and ya watching.
Just watched to see if he was going to touch on the king of grassy weeds... Dallisgrass. And he did not
I touched on the top 10 I have dealt with. I guess I'm lucky. Dallisgrass has never been a problem for me. Thanks for watching.
