It's kind of weird, as there's no indication he still does that. But there's only one chest left so it's not like most people would notice this. (And I think the devs expect you to get that chest with Sothe)
Wow, Shadowofchaos, commenting? You were one of my biggest inspirations during the 2010's, loved your Awakening Japanese videos and it inspired me to cover Awakening myself. Believe me when I say you've always been my favourite FE-Tuber, even though you upload less FE stuff now. (Finally proving Masked Lucina can't crit though, that was cool)
Something I wanted to point out: at the part at 28:36 I was going to bring up Nailah having death quotes in Part 1 too. Except I'm pretty sure it IS possible to get Nailah killed in Part 1 if you let a Fire Mage attack her repeatedly with height advantage. The Black Knight can't possibly die in Part 1 without hacking.
Nailah is easy to kill. Have her untransform, rescue someone, and have her stand in the middle of a bunch of enemies in 1-E. As for the Black Knight in part 3, pretty sure if he's unequipped and rescuing someone else, he can die to a bunch of tigers. Or level Mordecai and Lethe to lv. 40 and have him stand in front of them.
@@BigKlingy If I'm not mistaken there are two separate Black Knights in the game code (yours and the one you fight). This is why his stats reset if you feed him stat boosters.
Exactly, this would explain why he can lose Imbue as a boss on Easy but keep it when playable. And why you can't make the BK fight harder by giving him stat boosters.
I wouldn't be so sure it was an accident. Perhaps they chose the less complex version because the nicer version was perhaps overproduced for the occasion.
Another possibility is the bandit arc was meant to be longer at first and the more intricate version was going to feature in a segment that just didn't make it into the story... The Dawn Brigade suffers stat and story wise from a void of missing chapters. Whether they were planned to have more chapters or it was just something that existed in the negative possibility space...
It’s one of the best enemy phase themes in the series, shame it was replaced with one of the worst. Also a shame no one is going to extend the good one any time soon?
Because it sounds interesting, I'm going to Theory craft the supports mention in the video. Caineghis and Renning: I'd assume they would do some catching up and Renning would thank him for helping his niece in his stead. Caineghis and Lyre: I hope it's meta about the fact of how bad she is, while also encouraging her to put effort into improving as a fighter. Shinnon and Ike: in short, Shinnon would tell Ike he may look like Greil but he'll never be as great. Ike would question why he's still there since it's obvious he hates Ike. Shinnon would probably blow off the question and mutter something when Ike leaves the frame. Edward and Leanne: Not sure, maybe he'd try to help her speak the modern Tellius language. Edward and Sanaki: I'd love it if this starts with Ed not realizing Sanaki is the Empress and assuming she's just some rich kid from Begnion. Ena and Gatrie: man this sounds like comedic gold. I imagine Gatrie starts putting the moves on her and she either rejects him or is oblivious to it Elincia and Mist: I'd imagine some catching up and in the localization, a reference to the Ike/Elincia shipping moments from POR. Elincia and Nailah: since Nailah wanted to meet Elincia in part three, I'd imagine they'd talk a lot about ruling in their respective countries. Elincia and Pelleus: sounds like the most awkward conversation ever. One helped kill the other's "father" and said "father" killed the other's parents Gatrie and Rafiel: that's exactly what I'd imagine would happen. Ike and Micaiah: maybe something like the 3-13 boss conversation if she attacks Ike, Or the base conversation between them in endgame 3 Jill and Zihark: If I were Jill, I'd ask how someone from Daein could be like end up like Zihark. Renning and Vika: she'd probably question how true it is that Crimea is seeks to be a place where the beorc and laguz live in peace. Leonardo and Skrimir: hopefully Leonardo doesn't use the word sub-human and tries to learn about Gallia. Makalov and Naesala: I hope he Makalov loses all his money in a bet with Neasala. Zihark and Meg: he'd probably let her down gently. Neasala and Oliver: sounds like two the two of them remarking about their respective choices and taking shots at each other. Neasala and Vika: I'd imagine she'd have some choice words for the raven king since I doubt she knows about his blood pact. Soren and Skrimir: sounds like more comedic gold. Stefan and Nasir: sounds like Stefan gets to verbalize some righteous fur,y maybe to the originator of the lie, but close to it. Volke and Nasir: maybe Nasir has a job for the fireman.
So this might be where warriors got it's support system from. While the remix of the devoted is awesome, I would still like more unique recruitment themes. Elibe never got one, considering it used old ones for both games.
It's a remix of With Us! The Devoted is the Greil Merc battle theme from this game. Now that you mention it, yeah, both Elibe's recruitment themes were remixes. I really disliked the FE6 version of FE4's recruitment theme. 7's is decent, but I'm sure it only got a Together We Ride remix due to Smash Bros.
To think RD's soundtrack could ascend to an even higher plain... Found it funny that they stuffed up the bandit theme, probably found out later and were like "eh, whatever generic bandits don't deserve a complex theme" I'd say the third TA would either be The DB or Tormod's gang. Though neither all have a common weapon type. I really hope that bit about gatrie's ai is true, would be hilarous. Would've loved if Levail joined the army, but i suppose he's a bit of a Camus in that regard. Oh well, less competition for Neph and Aran. Also really wanted to spare hetzel, seemed truthfully regretful about the serenes massacre and actual did his job as senator. Though I suppose you could argue that his inaction against lekain makes him just as bad. And finally ARGHHH WHY DIDN'T THEY KEEP THE SUPPORT CONVERSATIONS IN? I hope if RD ever gets remade they add them in, then again, it probably wouldn't be the original writers writing them so i wouldn't want the characters to act unnatural. Jill and Zihark were my POR DB buddies who always stuck together, so i would've love a support. (on a side note, why does zihark sometimes say fighting "is like my morning bread." Dafaq does that mean?)
I found that funny too, I never would've suspected that until I read its file name on the wiki and saw that the one used in the final game had "_cut". It's a shame, the full version is pretty good. I'm not sure Gatrie's AI does anything unique. But there isn't much reason for that "female" skill to exist if there isn't some AI behaviour it affects. I know Tear Ring Saga has a character who won't attack women at all. (Which you can exploit to box him in, lol) Levail would've been interesting, but he'd probably join too late to be all that useful. It's likely Hetzel's final fate wouldn't be good even if he did survive, he committed treason after all. Though knowing how Sanaki is, she probably wouldn't have him executed. But he'd probably be stripped of his titles and might spend the rest of his life in prison. Generic support lines are weird. Really weird. I forgot Zihark said that.
It's like fighting is second nature to him and something that always happens. I would've personally said like my morning coffee but whatever, still gets the point across.
Surprised me too, I never expected THAT to be the end result of my experiment. The chances of that happening on a normal playthrough would be REALLY low though.
Great video! So glad to see people explore these things about the games. Two interesting notes, one about Meg and zihark’s support and the other about where Vika may come from. As for zihark and meg, ziharks A support with Brom in PoR has Brom trying to get zihark to marry one of his daughters, So it would be ironic and funny for one of them (meg) to have a support with zihark in this game. As for vika, maybe she isn’t actually a raven? Spoilers for the ending and extra story content of radiant dawn coming next. It’s said somewhere in PoR that only royal herons have white wings. in the end of RD, if you discover all the hidden story content, you learn that Sephiran is actually an ancient heron. And after the story, you get a cutscene of him with black wings, much the same color as Vika’s. We never see a transformed non-royal heron, maybe they just used the raven model for vika or made her a raven to save time? Or maybe she was planned to be a non royal heron of some kind?
43:30 Ahimsa is the principle of non-violence in Hindu, Buddhist and Jainist philosophy. Mahatma Gandhi advocated this principle in our struggle for independence.
The singing pirates theme attached to this needs to become tradition. Like EVERYTIME this happens, someone needs to play this in the background for extra hilarity XD
When you said that alot us will scream about the support ending, I indeed scream. Since I played PoR the first time, I ship AstridxSothe because how wholesome the support was, and now that I watch the list, it was the end of me. If IS is gonna make a remaster or remake of the Tellius saga, please PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ASHUNERA PLEASE BRING THIS BACK
Triangle Attack C being for Nolan, Leonardo and Edward would have been cool, so would have been a laguz Triangle Attack. Maybe a cat attack for Ranulf, Lethe and Lyre? That'd be interesting. Also holy wow that's a lot of music.
A DB one would probably only be unlocked later, because I'd imagine having it from as early as 1-1 might be too good. (Though you need all the help you can get then)
He didn't even need to be a unit, I wholly believe Hetzel should've been allowed to live. Considering he's weak-hearted to begin with, it's also possible that had he tried to alert Sanaki or the Herons to the Serenes Forest Massacre it would've been written all over his face and Lekain just would've arranged that the old man die out in a field somewhere en route. Let him face his punishment as ordained by Sanaki and put the rest of his short life and noble worth into assisting the Laguz.
Honestly, I think the reason Radiant Dawn has so little cut content is because the dev team decided to just throw things in instead of cutting them; I imagine quite a few of the playable characters that came in late (like Oliver, for example) would have been cut entirely or relegated to NPC in a more streamlined game, but because the RD devs were insanely ambitious in terms of scale they just took the extra effort to polish them up and include them properly. My personal guess for the cut Triangle Attack would be Micaiah, Sanaki, and Pelleas, the three "royal" mages who all have some kind of unusual class (Micaiah having her story-significant class changes, Pelleas being the only dark mage, and Sanaki of course having her unique Empress class). Out of curiosity, did Volke have any other planned supports besides Nasir? If not, maybe it was another Bastian situation, where the devs planned to use Volke to foreshadow a third game if they'd decided to make one. I have to wonder if Vika was going to represent ravens who had abandoned Kilvas and made their own way in the world due to the actions Naesala took under the blood oath. I always found it odd that ravens in Tellius seemed to unilaterally support Naesala, without even questioning his practices or having a sympathetic Camus-type character who disagreed with Naesala but fought for Kilvas anyway.
That is sort-of true. There's a lot of late characters like Renning who feel kind of like "bonuses". Actually I feel like it would've made sense for Renning to be a transfer-exclusive character, requiring you to do something specific while fighting him in PoR (Fight him with Elincia, and maybe get Bastian and Volke's A Support), but they probably decided it'd be unfair to lock playable characters behind PoR transfer. Someone else suggested the three Lions, Caineghis, Giffca and Skrimir for Triangle C, which I think could've been likely. Volke got quite a few. Heather, Ike, Makalov, Sothe, Tauroneo and Bastian. It'd be interesting to see where Vika fits in the world. She had a lot of potential but she's one of the least developed characters in the final game.
Radiant Dawn was their chance to include many thing they had to cut from path of radiance. The director of por said the game was only 70% finished in terms of content on release
I wouldn't be surprised if the unused recruit theme was originally meant for the Dawn Brigade, and the final one was originally just meant for the Greil Mercenaries.
My Theory on triangle C : in radiant dawn, there are almost always 3 of each unit. maybe all units were going have triangle attacks but later noticed that would be weird?. or maybe this was for the royal Laguz to use, but that could be cheezy. It was most likely a leftover slot that stayed for any possible reference that never happened.
This video has seriously made me appreciate Alm Map theme 2 more. I never actually knew that it was remixed in Radiant Dawn and I barely remembered the Echoes version so I never knew how good this song was
Gaiden has really good music, both the original and the remake. Alm and Celica's 2nd map themes are pretty obscure due to their remixes not being easy to find in Echoes, but both are very good.
I keep rewatching this every once in a while, it's a fantastic video and I love it. Today, rewatching it again, I got a possible theory for what the "Reverse Exclusive A: Equip Disabled" skill might have been used for. Obviously it's pure speculation, but maybe this skill is what prevents Ike from blessing any weapon other than Ragnell before Endgame 3. No idea for the B and C variants though, maybe one of them prevents you from blessing staves?
40:22 maybe mangs could do that... LOL also the un-used songs look like the final un-cut versions but they had to cut it because of the scenes. the one of the axe users souns like one of fe 12, maybe proud commander but less with less bass.
37:50 @BigKlingy the best guess I have is that the skill is attached to female characters to basically adjust class caps but that's probably a stretch.
I think there was some music tracks that you could not play in the music gallery, but were still played in the game. The one I can think of is an alternate version of Stalking Menace, which I think plays right before you fight all the dragons in the tower.
Wow, that's a lot of unused tracks. The ones I particularly enjoyed were the alternate 'Aesthetics of Deprivation', the track at 6:40, Naesala and Mist's arranged themes, and 'not March to Deliverance'. All this talk about clearing misconceptions between 'not March to Deliverance' and Shadow of Valentia's music make me want to play Shadows of Valentia again. It's been a long while since I played the game, and that was what got me back into the series. I wonder how it'll hold up today... 19:20 That art is amazing! Cipher art is usually amazing, but this one's probably my favourite. At least, it would be, if Ike didn't look a little tired. It might be the eyes. Micaiah looks gorgeous in the art, though. 'Elincia and Mist... Elincia and Nailah... Elincia and Pelleas...' Basically, anyone could have interesting support conversations with Elincia because she's _that_ good a character. The one I'm interested in most, however, is Ike and Micaiah. I'd love to see the two make amends after everything their respective sides of the war have done to each other. 40:03 I love that the programmers forgot to account for the very rare possibility of having no gold in endgame. Just seeing this 'dummy' with my own eyes... Spectacular.
I love a lot of the unused music in this game. 19:20 There's so much good Cipher art. I would've really loved to see Ike/Micaiah too. 40:03 I can't believe I found this. So glad I kept a save file from before Endgame.
The other triangle attacks involve the same unit types or the same weapons type, I would have imagined this would have followed a similar pattern? Maybe a mage triangle attack, Michaiah, Pelleus and Sanaki would have contributed light, dark and anima magic respectively.
Personal headcannon: The third Triangle attack was probably meant for the three big name characters on Radiant Dawn. Those being Ike, Micaiah, and Sanaki. But that's just my take.
At least in early NTSC releases, Aesthetics of Deprivation was actually used on boss intro dialogue for Asheran units (eg Yuma), and not, to my recollection, anywhere else. Given how many hiccups the early NTSC copies have, though, that might just be another one.
35:46 "They're useless." Tempest and Serenity work in Radiant Dawn. But when equipped, they have "dummy" on the screen. Makalov w/ Tempest: i.imgur.com/wEOrHqL.png Danved w/ Serenity: i.imgur.com/wtePPq7.png I have not tested the other "unused skills." According to a very good hacker, ShadowX39, they aren't functional. 37:38 Growth rates. It's mostly for growth rates. 40:50 It's 50%. The code is 50%, whichever website lists it as 100% is just wrong. 40:58 "Volke doesn't have this ability." Because he's no longer a thief. He doesn't have to parade as one, as his true class is an Assassin. Heather and Sothe are thieves, so they have that ability. Interesting that the points I made in PoR, were actually addressed in RD's video. Yes, I'm aware, I'm a year late. While I can hack Radiant Dawn specifically, I do not have direct access to the games files. So a lot of the things, I sadly cannot check. If you're interested, I can check *certain* things, and give you clips for that. Up to you, though.
I got a grand total of 30... hoping lady Anna will shine on me tomorrow. Though I’m happy enough with the tailtiu refine that I call this update a win!
4:21 So much better. 7:04 Definitely some unique instrumentation. Sounds vaguely like what Fates would end up doing with Vallite map themes. 18:40 Huh. Always just assumed that RD's version was just a liberal take on Alm's original map theme. 30:34 Literally FEW's support system. 33:00 Leonardo is the more serious member of the Dawn Brigade and studied at a military school; I'd imagine something along the lines of berating Skrimr's lack of tactical thought while trying to teach him Beorc military methods... 33:48 ...Though both the one above and this one seem like they may have been redundant together. 40:13 It would make sense to expect players to spend as much money as possible before endgame because there's nothing else to do with it from that point on, but I guess it would be quite hard to get to under 50 gold.
4:21 I was surprised to discover they actually put the wrong version in the final game. You don't hear this song much in RD, but it would've greatly benefited from this version. 7:04 I feel like this song was a placeholder though. 18:40 And that's why I wanted to clear it up here. Alm actually had two original map themes. (Funny thing about the 2nd map themes in Echoes. What Lies at the End I'd describe as "only loosely based on the original Alm Map 2", as it goes off the rails very quickly. Sacrifice and the Saint, however, sounds a lot closer to the original Celica 2, just with extra parts added.) 30:34 I just realized that. 33:00 Probably. Would've loved to get more of his military school background in the actual game. 40:13 Trying it, it's surprisingly hard. I ended up needing to sell a few low-use forged weapons to get close to 500 exactly, then buy an Iron Sword.
4:21 It's probably the best bandit theme in the series, due to actually sounding almost barbaric. 7:04 Probably was, but I can admire the instrumentation at least. 18:40 Ironically I'd consider Sacrifice and the Saint the weaker of the two, due to it sounding too similar to A Dark Fall (in terms of both pacing/tempo and instrumentation). 40:13 Wouldn't be shocked if the trait was just a remnant from PoR that got imported over and wasn't meant to be there.
18:40 I didn't think about it before but yeah, they're pretty similar. 40:13 Maybe, but there's no way the engine was ported over since PoR was on Gamecube and RD is on Wii. The first one got linked on Reddit too.
Hey, pregnant widows need love too (I think it's implied that Vika was born into slavery like Muarim) (Also the Female tag might affect whether certain units like Heather use A. or B. chats with support partners)
44:52 Maybe Special is those characters that are too plot-relevant to die, and therefore just retreat and never come back to battle, like Legault in FE7, I think.
That might be the case, seeing as I THINK Titania still appears in dialogue scenes if she retreats. (Also, Lethe and Mordecai. I found out while trying to get Kezdha to appear in 3-6 that Lethe doesn't die if "killed" in Part 2 and will still show up in Part 3's dialogue if she does. In order for her to actually die, you need to get her killed in Part 3 or later.)
BigKlingy And maybe, as well, Primary and Secondary may mean Ike's army and Micaiah's army. I can't see anything useful coming from separating them like that, but I have never played the game, so what do I know.
I kinda have a theory on why RD doesn't have written dialogue in it's supports. Due to everyone being able to support everyone, they may not have had time to write supports for every combination. I swear I've heart that Gaiden remix before, and I don't think it was in Echoes. Maybe it was in a DLC map in Awakening. Wow that Cipher art is pretty, such a shame it'll probably never get outside Japan.
Hey dude, to regards to the music cut, I don't think a mistake like that would happen. The "cut" name filing could just mean that director asked the composer to cut some instruments from the track for some aesthetic reason. Tbh, that chello in the final version of the soundtrack sounds very distracting. So no, I don't think it was a mistake, especially this early into the game, someone would have noticed this.
I’m super happy to have found these videos, just watched one the path of radiance one, about to pause about midway on this one for sleep... It would be greatly appreciated if you made a playlist with the content for all FE games you have covered! UA-cam search seems to say you have done for at least a GBA or two game also! :) Will happily watch them tomorrow or soon
This is a pretty old video at this point, but I want to point out that music files with filenames ending in "cut" aren't necessarily named that way because they were cut from the game. It is possible, but another possibility is that it's short for "cutscene", and refers to cutscene themes as opposed to map or battle themes. I personally find it more likely that a knowingly unused track would have "dummy" or something else in its filename. This would also explain why the unfinished version of the track wound up being used, because the finished version lacked that specification.
I honestly love the Alm Map 2 theme, say what you will about the gameplay, I think Gaiden has the best OST of the NES FE games. Honestly, I kinda wish that you could save Zelgius in NG+ but that would probably mean that Alondite would be locked to him. Soooo... It's official, being a woman in Telius is a skill. Honestly, the fact that it's dummy text for not having 50 gold is the best text for not having 50 gold and taking Volke to endgame. I love it.
That's not exactly a big distinction since there's only one other FE NES game. I do think Gaiden has one of the best NES soundtracks I've ever heard though.
The music of the NES Fire Emblem games in general are *way* better than they have any right to be, considering how absurdly limited the NES sound hardware is compared to later consoles. I normally can't stand most soundtracks from the 8-bit era, but the FE tracks stand right up there with SMB3 in terms of still being fantastic to listen to today.
@@GIR177 Eh. Maybe it's my lack of direct connection to those franchises talking (heck, I don't even have experience with the _music_ of Final Fantasy, let alone the games themselves), but as much as I enjoy their Smash remixes I generally don't really enjoy listening to the originals in the same way. The Gaiden tracks, meanwhile, sound just as good to me as their Echoes remixes when compared side by side on the sound test CD. ...that said, I will give you DuckTales, I'd forgotten that was on NES rather than SNES.
3:32 More evidence that this cut of Aesthetics of Deprivation being in game cutscenes was a mistake is that I recently picked up the ost soundtrack cd to radiant dawn and the uncut version is on the cd And on the sound room in the game they use the uncut version as well strange as it's on the cutting room floor. But anyways yeah is there a mod that puts it back in out of curiosity?
@@BigKlingy well, he doesn't suck at All His Weapon's effect is pretty much Giga Excalibur and his skills are Blazing wind, Swift sparrow and Guard. Statwise, he's good too 39HP, 32ATK, 38SPD, 24DEF and 29RES he's voiced by Lucien Dodge (aka Leon from SOV) and drawn by Suda Ayaka (who drew Lewyn)
So he's basically got Vortex, except actually good. Nice. Good speed, as I expected, and great Attack before weapons factor in. Actually wait a minute. How the heck do Laguz weapons work when it comes to SI? Is it possible for them to use anything besides their starting ones? Lewyn's art was great, so that's a plus. Also, Lucien Dodge sounds like a good choice.
@@BigKlingy beats me, i think theyll be stuck to them though. There might be a silver beak though, Just in case someone gets demoted. If i pull one of the Laguz, ill tell you, keep an eye out
BigKlingy honestly I wish we got caineghis instead of Leanne. Two herons is a little much considering the other is the best bard in the franchise, and honestly I just love caineghis. My favorite memory of RD is styling on levail with caineghis by Just punching him out in a single hit Unshifted.
Also. I'm commenting on this very late, but I just found this out - the MSID_THUNT skill doesn't actually give a 100% chance of finding treasure, so the description mentioned in the video is correct. I know for a fact that in 3-6, despite definitely standing on the correct tile, Sothe failed to pick up the Brave Bow.
Different wikis and other sources are REALLY conflicted about exactly what the Thief treasure bonus is. I'm pretty sure it isn't 100% either, the wiki I copied these descriptions off just said that.
Yeah. I guess it's somewhat understandable, they have such high chances of picking up treasure that it can easily feel like 100%. But on my last attempt at 3-6, I tried using Sothe to pick up the Brave Bow, and even though I'm absolutely sure he was on the right tile, he didn't find it. So it's very high, but not 100%.
Really late to this, but it dawned on me (hah) that the first battle theme at 6:39 sounds like some some sort of battle healing theme, like the one used in Gaiden. Of course, Tellius uses only map animations for healing, so that theory falls flat, but it's interesting sounding.
That'd definitely make sense. Come to think of it, until Eches, Sacred Stones was the last FE to have a healing theme, and Echoes is a remake and only has one because the original Gaiden did, so it doesn't really count.
Loved the video! It's nice seeing any recent discussion on my favorite fire emblem game and learning some things about it I never knew! I don't fault the game for their lack of inclusion but I so wish those A supports could have made it. The base script had many many small cuts to it left to the extended script that I have to wonder if their lack of inclusion had to do with how much dialogue was already present in the game (as well as time constraints and all that)?
The thing with the script cuts is that what we called the "extended script" is actually supposed to be the main script, and the one we got is a cut-down version aimed at those new to Fire Emblem. (Japanese interviews explicitly confirm this) I have no idea why the English localizers decided to pick THAT one to base the English script off rather than the Normal/Hard version. And it's nice to meet someone else who loves this game. Radiant Dawn gets a lot of hate and I do acknowledge its flaws, but it'll always be one of my favourites in the series.
@@BigKlingy I'm aware :0 But the whole script was only available in hard and maniac mode of Radiant Dawn. Which is a weird thing to do and many of the cuts are miniscule that add up over time. So there's some speculation as to why the script was edited like that at all. I do wish the localizers had decided to bring over the whole script or at least keep the same system of the whole script being in the harder difficulties.
Basically, the Japanese Normal script exists because it was IS' first attempt at making Fire Emblem more appealing to the mainstream... and they thought dumbing-down the script to remove everything that doesn't directly advance the plot would do that. It reminds me a lot of "Final Fantasy IV Easytype", a Japan-only release that lowers FF4's difficulty (actually bringing it to the level of the US version, I think) and simplifies the script to make it more accessible to younger players.
Interesting stuff, shame its taken me 4 years to watch this. Although some of this ive found myself or heard before. I do have some theories though. The female skill may be used to mark certain units as having female battle models? I assume for Generics. Or even to mark certain classes like peg knights as female only. Also I don't know much about Vika (thanks RD for taking out supports 😡) but I wanna say she was either born into slavery or captured from Serenes either before or during the massacre, and then eventually freed from Slavery by Tormod. It's a shame because she seems interesting. Warp and quick warp might be for spirits to warp and attack but another for Sephiran to summon them back to him? For Triangle C im kinda thinking it was meant for Laguz.
It might've marked female models, but it feels like it's meant to interact with a different ability, like the personal skills in later games that gives boosts when female or male allies are nearby. I could also see Heather having a "don't attack women" AI, but she doesn't appear as an enemy. Vika is a character I WISH we got to know more about. Even stat-wise, I feel she's wasted potential, as the only playable Raven besides Naesala, but she just has no playtime. Ranulf, Kyza and Lyre could've had a Triangle Attack, or just the 3 cats, the 3 tigers... there's a few options.
@@BigKlingy oh, it's not used to have Heather run towards Nephenee on her join map is it? Idk very weird. And Nealucchi is also playable right? But nobody is using him over Naesala LOL. Fire Emblem and wasted potential, name a better combo.
That's why aran and Laura can't support, he sister zoned her. Also I think the third triangle could be between generals since that was a thing apparently in fe 6.
I ganrenty you that last triangle attack was the three thieves. It makes alot of since not only does it fits the number count. It also makes heathers presence alot more since she's just. Never ever legitimately on screen save her 1 info and recruitment (obviously), I always thought Heather just seemed really out of place and unnecessary but if this where the case it'd explain alot
That's because it is. It's based on "Memory of Mom" from Path of Radiance, which was based on the song Ike and Mist's mother sang to them as children, which was the Galdr of Release. (Taught to her by Lilia) Actually, it's probably the Galdr of Slumber. The one Life Returns is based on.
My Awakening one is a bit outdated though. Some more unused voice clips were found since then, including an amazing unused Dual Strike line from Vaike. "It's a Vaike-and-bake!"
I'm pretty sure that's done via making Swordmaster (Male) and Swordmaster (Female) different classes. In most Fe games the male and female versions of a class tend to be treated as separate classes, usually having different base stats.
I see whoever made BGM_meet1 was a fan of the GBA's stanky trumpet. 13:03 I REALLY hope Nailah's wearing something under that cloth... My summoning luck in Heroes has been crazy lately! Got 5 star Roy, Takumi, AND Legendary Azura all in the past few days.
13:03 Yeah, I was kind of worried my channel would get into trouble for that art. I'm hoping summoning on the Laguz banner goes well for me. I've got around 370 orbs saved up.
It's just for one world though. No multiple universes or timelines or anything like that. (Though Priam's existance in Awakening, and the Awakening cast knowing Tellius mythology, makes things more confusing. But PoR and RD were made without knowing that'd happen.)
I doubt Leanne would have any paired endings besides Naesala. Though I wonder what her support conversations with people who don't understand Ancient Lounge would've been like.
Fair enough. Part of why it would be funny is they could make Edward be the guy with the most options with more than one being a princess... Doubly so because he's a total scrubb. And who knows, maybe he knows a bit of the ancient tongue. Although a paired ending with Sanaki would have been slightly more plausible because he's the closest to her age. Sure 15 and 12 isn't a Kosher pairing but when he's 21 she'll be 18. So it wouldn't be far fetched if their A-support had him pledging his sword to her service and her accepting his offer with ulterior motives in mind, thus the paired ending would have him become her retainer but then, later on, her consort. Although this feels like I'm exiting the realm of speculation and entering the realm of fan fiction so I digress. TL:DR, Edward's a dull character and a bad unit. Giving him these options would have been hilarious.
I really enjoy using Edward for how crazy he becomes later on, and early he has some decent Wrath setups. (To the point where the speedrun uses him for boss kills in the first couple of chapters) He's no Nolan or Jill but he's not bad by unpromoted DB standards.
this channel is seriously underrated for all the effort put into it
agreed only found them 2 hours ago already watched 3 videos ( well workin on the third now , guess which )
His voice is painful, like I'm getting used to it but it's not nice to listen to, it's very high pitch and spikes a lot
I agree. I find unused content in video games so fascinating, and he presents it so well
14:48 TRIAL MAPS INTENSIFIES
Oh hi, never expected to find you on one of my videos.
@MasterEnex Any chance you will put extended version of the cut Aesthetics of Deprivation?
I can’t believe Volke charges for the last chest in the game. dummy is the best thing they could have put
It's kind of weird, as there's no indication he still does that. But there's only one chest left so it's not like most people would notice this. (And I think the devs expect you to get that chest with Sothe)
@@BigKlingy Still a bizzare oversight. Maybe Volke was planned to joined earlier but got the hard shaft like Bastian
lmao 5 years later and only now do I see this video in my recommendations
Thanks for the shoutout for the phase music lmao
Wow, Shadowofchaos, commenting? You were one of my biggest inspirations during the 2010's, loved your Awakening Japanese videos and it inspired me to cover Awakening myself.
Believe me when I say you've always been my favourite FE-Tuber, even though you upload less FE stuff now. (Finally proving Masked Lucina can't crit though, that was cool)
Volke calling the player a dummy.
I feel like this is going to happen to Mangs
Again
40:03 Wow, Radiant Dawn really called us dumb for losing that much money.
Disappointed there was no t posing boyd this time around
The Fire Emblem wiki has plenty of t-pose models of RD's characters though, if you're interested.
BigKlingy good
@@NotGuy64 The T-pose models appear if you hack the game to play animations when a character is unequipped or holding a weapon they can't use.
@@BigKlingy My only question is...
O l i v e r
That's probably because he's stuck back in the other video. Nobody really picked him up...
A lot of that unused music sounds interesting. And that "dummy" is the best thing I've seen in a while. That was a great laugh.
FE10 redux sends it's regards with that.
From what I've read, the BK only lacks Imbue as a boss on Easy, I think he still has it while playable. I'll need to test that though.
25:00 Looks like Meg is able to jump like Mario even in all that armour. Maybe THAT'S what makes her the 'speed-focused' Armour Knight?
With a worse speed cap and growth than Gatrie, but everyone knows that by now.
But can she swing her arms from side to side?
I really like that early bandit theme, shame it was accidentally replaced with a lesser version ingame.
It's pretty nice imo.
dryzalizer yeah sadly
I wouldn't be so sure it was an accident. Perhaps they chose the less complex version because the nicer version was perhaps overproduced for the occasion.
Another possibility is the bandit arc was meant to be longer at first and the more intricate version was going to feature in a segment that just didn't make it into the story... The Dawn Brigade suffers stat and story wise from a void of missing chapters. Whether they were planned to have more chapters or it was just something that existed in the negative possibility space...
It’s one of the best enemy phase themes in the series, shame it was replaced with one of the worst. Also a shame no one is going to extend the good one any time soon?
congratulations, game designers, you left out literally the melody of aesthetics of deprivation
That's interesting we only ever got the harmonies for the bandit song rather than the whole thing melody included
Wow even the cut Radiant Dawn music is really good.
Kind of a shame around 25 songs the composers put as much effort into as the ones heard in-game were cut. Thank Yune for the full OST downloads.
@@BigKlingy Usuap for any game development.
I'll forever hate them for the cut supports. Especially for Soren and Skrimir. Those conversations would have been amazing.
Makalov and Naesala would've been HILARIOUS.
Sounds to me like the song at 6:40 could've been a healing theme like from the older games prior to Path of Radiance.
I imagine Gatrie starts putting the moves on her and she either rejects him or is oblivious to it
Elincia and Mist: I'd imagine some catching up and in the localization, a reference to the Ike/Elincia shipping moments from POR.
Elincia and Nailah: since Nailah wanted to meet Elincia in part three, I'd imagine they'd talk a lot about ruling in their respective countries.
Elincia and Pelleus: sounds like the most awkward conversation ever. One helped kill the other's "father" and said "father" killed the other's parents
Gatrie and Rafiel: that's exactly what I'd imagine would happen.
Ike and Micaiah: maybe something like the 3-13 boss conversation if she attacks Ike, Or the base conversation between them in endgame 3
Jill and Zihark: If I were Jill, I'd ask how someone from Daein could be like end up like Zihark.
FE7 had a secondary Recruitment theme for Wallace and Isadora that's unique to that game as far as I know.
That's "A Knight's Oath", which is actually a remix of the bittersweet victory theme from FE1.
That Gaiden Trial Map theme is absolutely amazing. It's a shame it ended up among the cut content, together with the Trial Maps.
Seems like trial maps were scrapped VERY early as there's no other data pertaining to them apart from the name of this song.
To think RD's soundtrack could ascend to an even higher plain... Found it funny that they stuffed up the bandit theme, probably found out later and were like "eh, whatever generic bandits don't deserve a complex theme"
I'd say the third TA would either be The DB or Tormod's gang.
(Which you can exploit to box him in, lol)
Levail would've been interesting, but he'd probably join too late to be all that useful.
"Morning bread" basically being an archaic term for breakfast, IIRC.
Basically he's saying that he's almost as used to fighting as he is eating.
Maybe Levail and Hetzel were planned trial maps characters, but since that was scrapped they just kept their growths in.
I just find it funny that the game lists "woman" as a skill.
Great vid! This is my favorite game, so learning about all this was a treat.
It's my very close second favourite FE, and I wanted to give as much information on it as I could.
@@BigKlingy The Volke chest bit really surprised me lol
20:19 Man I miss the near victory themes. If there was one thing I'd like back going forward it would be just that.
I do too. Though PoR's one didn't play past Chapter 6 for some odd reason.
43:30 Ahimsa is the principle of non-violence in Hindu, Buddhist and Jainist philosophy. Mahatma Gandhi advocated this principle in our struggle for independence.
I looked that up when I first saw this. Interesting that they'd name something in the game's code after that.
Interesting. The E3 version main theme and other unused background music can also be found inside Radiant Dawn Official Soundtracks Collection.
40:25 give it time, I can see mangs doing that in his let's play
The singing pirates theme attached to this needs to become tradition. Like EVERYTIME this happens, someone needs to play this in the background for extra hilarity XD
Who thinks Mangs is going to run out of money and makes Volke get that chest and not have 50 gold?
I KNOW that's going to happen.
It did in por
we already know thats gonna happen , So why Ask us what we think XD
And then the game will call him a dummy and Mekkah will die laughing.
I wish that happened. But mangs had enough. Such a shame
When you said that alot us will scream about the support ending, I indeed scream. Since I played PoR the first time, I ship AstridxSothe because how wholesome the support was, and now that I watch the list, it was the end of me.
If IS is gonna make a remaster or remake of the Tellius saga, please PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ASHUNERA PLEASE BRING THIS BACK
I don't think I ever did Astrid and Sothe's supports. I'll need to check those out sometime.
@@BigKlingyBetter Ship Then The Toxic Makalov x Astrid Whrre Astrid Take a massive Level up in Stupid when it Comes To Him

I do too, which is why I make them. Fire Emblem games always have the most interesting unused content out there.
40:00 Lol! That's amazing. Thanks for sharing that gem of a bug with us.
I never knew that'd happen until I tested it.
(Though you need all the help you can get then)
Not gonna lie part 1 chapter 1 is pretty hard because if rng makes enemies hit edward to times at the same turn he will die
Let him face his punishment as ordained by Sanaki and put the rest of his short life and noble worth into assisting the Laguz.
first summonn on laguz banner:
leanne, flying olivia, azura.
OK then.
Volke and makalov would have been interesting and probably involve makalov trying to get his way out of paying his debt
The UA-cam auto-translate, translated this as “Fire Emblem Wedding and Dawn.” XD
the black knight is capable of dying in 1-e on easy mode difficulty, it's just extremely convoluted and requires a lot of turns of poison dmg
If he did it in Path of Radiance, Mangs will do it in Radiant Dawn.
NGL the game calling you dummy for having less than 50 coins and trying to open a chesrt with Volke was hilarious
Hey dude, loved your channel, just discovered it but feel in love, thank you for this content!
I think that Ike, Mist and Volke would've one since for me it makes senes
@@ninisgarcia8602 Don't really see it TBH. Volke is not too connected to Ike except for that contract he did with him and Greil.
@@ChillstoneBlakeBlast That contract is the only reason I said Volke and not soren
41:24 I think the quick warp is shorter distance and allow action again while warp is long distance but no action after similar to the rewarp staff
A lot of these tracks remind me of the Gen 4 pokemon soundfont especially that desert one
Nasir can't even achieve an a-support because a lacking number of chapters
Volke is just calling the player a dummy.
WTF JUST AS I'M WATCHING THIS FEH RELEASED A TRAILER AND ALTINA IS COMING TO HEROES!!
Holy crap YES! I've been waiting for playable Altina for so long!
40:22 maybe mangs could do that... LOL
also the un-used songs look like the final un-cut versions but they had to cut it because of the scenes. the one of the axe users souns like one of fe 12, maybe proud commander but less with less bass.
I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up doing that.
Most of the alternate versions aren't in the sound test. And yeah, that alternate Stalking Menace definitely plays there.
Volke and the dummy text for the chest is my favorite! Hahaha
Shinon doesnt hate Ike he just is a tsunedere who doesnt want to reveal he sees him as a rival
I thought he was just kinda jealous
Elincia and Pelleas...'
Basically, anyone could have interesting support conversations with Elincia because she's _that_ good a character.
My guess for the third triangle attack would be either Sanaki-Sigrun-Tanith, or Tormod-Maurim-Vika. Or maybe Geoffrey-Lucia-Bastian.
The other triangle attacks involve the same unit types or the same weapons type, I would have imagined this would have followed a similar pattern? Maybe a mage triangle attack, Michaiah, Pelleus and Sanaki would have contributed light, dark and anima magic respectively.
Personal headcannon:
The third Triangle attack was probably meant for the three big name characters on Radiant Dawn. Those being Ike, Micaiah, and Sanaki. But that's just my take.
Its 3 am but you are the better fe youtuber out there . but man one hour sleep againn
5:53 sounds exactly like shadow dragon theme
I guess it's similar. I think it sounds like the FE4 version.
The unused bandit theme blew my mind, how could they fuck something like that?
At least in early NTSC releases, Aesthetics of Deprivation was actually used on boss intro dialogue for Asheran units (eg Yuma), and not, to my recollection, anywhere else. Given how many hiccups the early NTSC copies have, though, that might just be another one.
There's definitively some awesome tracks here.
35:46 "They're useless."
Tempest and Serenity work in Radiant Dawn. But when equipped, they have "dummy" on the screen.
Makalov w/ Tempest: i.imgur.com/wEOrHqL.png
Danved w/ Serenity: i.imgur.com/wtePPq7.png
I have not tested the other "unused skills." According to a very good hacker, ShadowX39, they aren't functional.
40:58 And there's practically no hidden treasure left at the point he joins anyway, so there wouldn't be much point to him having it.
Very true.
Thanks for the hype! the feh beast units go up tomorrow. this will help me stay up
I've got around 370 orbs saved up and I can't wait.
I got a grand total of 30... hoping lady Anna will shine on me tomorrow. Though I’m happy enough with the tailtiu refine that I call this update a win!
I used up all my Orbs. Got Tibarn on the first pull, and none of the other 3.
@@BigKlingy lucky spent 60 got an alm shiro and a saber not a single fouces unit...
Sacrifice and the Saint, however, sounds a lot closer to the original Celica 2, just with extra parts added.)
30:34 I just realized that.
Also, I think I figured out why this video's getting so much attention-- it got linked on reddit.
18:40 I didn't think about it before but yeah, they're pretty similar.
40:13 Maybe, but there's no way the engine was ported over since PoR was on Gamecube and RD is on Wii.
The first one got linked on Reddit too.
Hey, pregnant widows need love too
(I think it's implied that Vika was born into slavery like Muarim)
(Also the Female tag might affect whether certain units like Heather use A. or B. chats with support partners)
Possibly, Awakening had a lot of call-backs to past games.
I really want Cipher outside Japan...
Sadly, no dummy on Mangs' playthrough.
I’m super happy to have found these videos, just watched one the path of radiance one, about to pause about midway on this one for sleep...
It would be greatly appreciated if you made a playlist with the content for all FE games you have covered!
UA-cam search seems to say you have done for at least a GBA or two game also! :)
Will happily watch them tomorrow or soon
I guess Megaman, Castlevania, Final Fantasy and Duck Tales soundtracks were chopped liver then.
I should mention that I never played any of those games you mentioned growing up. The NES was kind of before my time.
You are criminally underrated
That original version of alm's theme was cold
Nasir and Vole support only brings one thing to mind of both being suspected traitors in the last game.
Not gonna lie, these are very impressive videos. Watched every second.
3:32 More evidence that this cut of Aesthetics of Deprivation being in game cutscenes was a mistake is that I recently picked up the ost soundtrack cd to radiant dawn and the uncut version is on the cd
And on the sound room in the game they use the uncut version as well strange as it's on the cutting room floor.
But anyways yeah is there a mod that puts it back in out of curiosity?
27:42 i want it, you know you want it, everyone wants it: the Dawn F^iga
Thank you this video is awesome! My favorite game :))
I said it in the PoR video and ill say it again here for Klingy
NESALA IS A GHB UNIT IN HEROES!!!??
I was expecting at least one Laguz GHB. Him being free is nice, though I hope it doesn't mean he's bad.
@@BigKlingy well, he doesn't suck at All
His Weapon's effect is pretty much Giga Excalibur and his skills are Blazing wind, Swift sparrow and Guard.
Statwise, he's good too 39HP, 32ATK, 38SPD, 24DEF and 29RES
he's voiced by Lucien Dodge (aka Leon from SOV) and drawn by Suda Ayaka (who drew Lewyn)
These videos are great, you need more subscribers man!
@@neffi1941 well... sothe has high skill, PLUS biorhythem is a thing that affects treasure by like, what, 20%?
Really late to this, but it dawned on me (hah) that the first battle theme at 6:39 sounds like some some sort of battle healing theme, like the one used in Gaiden. Of course, Tellius uses only map animations for healing, so that theory falls flat, but it's interesting sounding.
That'd definitely make sense. Come to think of it, until Eches, Sacred Stones was the last FE to have a healing theme, and Echoes is a remake and only has one because the original Gaiden did, so it doesn't really count.
Also that ena and gatrie support sounds hilarious
These are amazing videos! All the kudos to you!
Underrated video.
Ike and Shinnon not having an A support is the biggest travesty
In chapter 1-9, the black knight CAN be damaged by some magic using enemies on hard mode.
Is it just me or does the beginning of the mist theme sound like the galdr of release?
That's because it is. It's based on "Memory of Mom" from Path of Radiance, which was based on the song Ike and Mist's mother sang to them as children, which was the Galdr of Release. (Taught to her by Lilia) Actually, it's probably the Galdr of Slumber. The one Life Returns is based on.
This is very interesting I'd like to see one for awakening or sacred stones!
I've already done ones for both those games, in fact! (Just use the search bar on my channel)
@@BigKlingy oh what awesome! Thanks a ton!
My Awakening one is a bit outdated though. Some more unused voice clips were found since then, including an amazing unused Dual Strike line from Vaike. "It's a Vaike-and-bake!"
37:49 male swordsmen get SS weapon rank tier 2, females only get SS tier 3.
I'm pretty sure that's done via making Swordmaster (Male) and Swordmaster (Female) different classes. In most Fe games the male and female versions of a class tend to be treated as separate classes, usually having different base stats.
dummy
It's like the game is tsundere. You don't have enough gold to open the chest, you dummy!
EASTER EGGS FILES!!!!!! I LOVE THEM!!!! BRING MORE! MORE!!!
Oh no a timeline its Zelda's Timeline but slightly coherent
It's just for one world though. No multiple universes or timelines or anything like that. (Though Priam's existance in Awakening, and the Awakening cast knowing Tellius mythology, makes things more confusing. But PoR and RD were made without knowing that'd happen.)
Phew that be slightly concerning
@@BigKlingy I just remembered that Pelleas has the same hair color as Priam....
...IZUKA!!!
31:32 I would have found it hilarious if they had given Edward a paired ending with Sanaki or Leanne...
@@MogofWar well, its 13 and 15, so thats... potentially close enough to be kosher? idk
