    As always I will update this comment if any information becomes irrelevant, however I also wanted to talk about the fast ride since I forgot something a little important for those struggling
    I MADE A MISTAKE, AIRSHOT DAMAGE IS 7 OOPS
    You may see freeze dash fire unfreeze as another option and yes it works too, I read my own inputs and came to the conclusion of freeze fire dash unfreeze. HOWEVER the inputs are so fast, it is more important that you get comfortable with dashing and firing at almost the same time.
    That's all I wanted to say, if I forgot anything do not be afraid to let me know. Thanks :)

      An enemy being pulled by the whiplash counts as "in the air" and can be hit with a rocket for a red explosion. Its much easier than bouncing them into the air first with a ground slam or other explosion.

    • @gLud3
      @gLud3  2 роки тому +13

      yeah, probably should have mentioned that somewhere. as well as how it works with v1 if you whiplash a rocket onto yourself it is also a red explosion (not sure how that'll help but eh)

      I think its also worth mentioning that you can freeze ahead of time so only those last 3 inputs have to be super tight. But, yeah, it's best to freeze fast anyway to not waste your precious freeze frame time.

      So basically we have a bunch of chemical sacs in our body which spew chemicals that tell our brain to tell our body stuff. The way these messages are received, sent and travel throughout the body is nerves which are basically magic spaghetti noodles going throughout our entire body. One useful thing worth noting about the rocket launcher is that whiplashed enemies count as airborne, so if you spot a crowd of fodder and you're not too worried about hard damage from whiplash (full health, good style, whatever) then I find whiplashing an enemy and firing a rocket for the red explosion to be much easier than hitting a core snipe in tighter situations where you don't have so much distance for the core to travel to weapon swap and hit it.
    Plus if you want to hit that whiplash boom at longer distances for whatever reason, you can hold the whiplash button to keep the grapple on an enemy, fire the rocket and THEN let go of the whiplash to get them airborne just as the rocket's about to collide with them. Bit more niche but still neat.

    On the topic of the rocket riding technique, I honestly found dash > fire > freeze > unfreeze to work the best because the dash resetting momentum first makes it much more consistent, although as you said it is up to preference. It also works easily in my brain to remember due to it pretty much being a "left to right" input chain just with the last one being twice

    • @gLud3
      @gLud3  2 роки тому +21

      yea i see a buncha different inputs for the rocket ride technique but after testing it seems that the "dash" and "fire" are honestly the strictest parts in the series. As in they need to be close to each other relatively speaking

    I think one thing worth mentioning is that frozen rockets still turn towards magnets, meaning you can magnet a cerb or swordmachine, freeze time, place a bunch of rockets, make a funny Za Warudo joke and have several rockets impact at once.
    Since they already face the enemy once they start flying, they're much less likely to miss and it circumvents the 2-3 rockets before the magnet breaks limit, it just needs some time and space to set up

    • @gLud3
      @gLud3  2 роки тому +10

      definetely useful in the base game since cerbs be sittin, but in cybergrind i find there is like no prep time for rockets sadly

  • @TheDogsrool
    @TheDogsrool 2 роки тому +30

    Something really useful I haven't seen talked about is using whiplash on a fodder enemy and immediately following with a rocket is the easiest way I've been able to pull of air shots. You don't even have to be pulling from off the ground for it to be an air shot. My guess is it has to do with a whiplashed enemy not technically on the ground even if it's literally touching it. But I haven't seen any videos on it, so I thought I'd tell you about it

    • @TheDogsrool
      @TheDogsrool 2 роки тому +3

      @A fucking Go Pro Oh I didn't realize that info was in the entry, I thought it only mentioned whiplashing the rocket directly. Either way I thought it'd be useful to leave a comment about it on the tutorial for the weapon and yeah they're easier to do than core snipes. That said, I've been practicing core snipes and the timing like crazy because I've noticed it makes it super easy to get friendly fires off on malicious faces from a distance if you get the timing just right.

    if you shoot a rocket in any direction (make sure you are moving, sliding works too) and whiplash it before it's too far away, it will go back to you and cause a damaging explosion (35 dmg). it sends you pretty dang far. it can also be chained mid-air with another rocket and whiplash. it's simple to pull off as well (also, i have no idea if this boost has been found yet, as i have started playing only a few days ago. if it has, shout-out to whoever that person may be)

    Fun fact: If you're chaining rocket jumps, performing a quick slide jump before firing the next rocket at your feet will preserve all of the momentum, making you able to do consecutive, huge jumps that cross a massive distance. It's basically the same as a regular slide jump, where you jump into the air during that tight window where you maintain your speed, but you fire a rocket at your feet the instant after you leave the ground.
    Timing's super tight, but if you get the rhythm down it's easy enough.
    Also, you can do this from a complete standstill, and i think you cross even more distance than you would in a dash-jump rocket jump

    I just found a rocket riding technique that i find a lot easier to use! It has to be used a bit proactively but i find it much more consistent if you are starting out at rocket riding, like me! It only works if you are falling slower the terminal velocity, so in the first second or two of beginning to fall. You simply point down, try to get yourself falling in a straight line, Freeze, shoot, unfreeze. If you were going mostly straight down and not going too fast you should start riding the rocket instantly or after a moment as the rocket catches up with you.
    Like i said it has to be used proactively, since you have to predict when you're going to be falling and quickly orient yourself. But i think it's useful to know as an easier practice tool if nothing else.

    Because I'm shit at fast riding, what I do instead when I'm falling off on cybergrind is I look straight down under me, fire, freeze a split second after firing, and then try to fall on the rocket. Much easier, but it does give less height.

    offensively by itself its not very great, however just because its another weapon, it means you can just sneak it in mid-combo to get more damage. this is enforced by cerberus damage being 1.5 for rl for some reason, and also the weapon freshness system

    Oh...you can speed up the rockets by whiplashing them. Just make sure they hit an enemy or an obstacle. Though if it comes back and hits you, you can get a nice horizontal speed boost.

      It was just a very surface level explanation of the motor cortex and some individual parts of it, specifically the nonprimary motor cortex, since it is believed to aid with the memorization and incorporation of motor skills.

Might not dust off my 5 key until the damage gets buffed or the direct-hit requirement gets changed because it just feels like this was designed exclusively for people who have P ranked Minos Prime.
