Definitely better than base nailgun for me. Much more suitable for a "trap weapon" And dealing with crowds of enemies. Just use it with overheat nailgun.

has potentially better sustained crowd control, but magnets can easily be set up for you to overcome the saws limitations vertically via the nailgun instead. Nails swing around all the nails/in the middle of them and can create a simple "death net" for weaker mobs. But neither are really too particularly good at dealing with much else in crowds, especially the saw-blades.
As the comments suggested I have been using blue saws and green nails and honestly they're quite nice, not sure if i prefer them over blue/green nail but again definitely nice
lmao an old like reminded me of this comment! always having one of your nails be saws instead is good as fuck for creating easy, lazy and outstanding DPS.
I find having magnet buzzsaw, overheat nailgun is the optimal setup. I was never the biggest fan of the magnet nailgun, I just find pumping damage with the overheat so much better, but with the buzzaws, the magnet's spinning radius gives it a useful niche in the main game. Specficially, it's really good at setting up a spot, where enemies just get grinded to dust the moment they spawn, allowing you to deal with mobs quicker, rack up score and prioritize other targets all at once. Alongside that, it's useful in clearing hordes within closed spaces due to the bouncing and decent damage on smaller goons. The buzzsaw heavily rewards memorizing levels, as it's utility comes in being basically able to skip entire encounter with a well-placed magnet or just knowing when to whip it out in order to dice some enemies to bits.
as someone who does speedrun but sucks ass at cybergrind (PB is like 36) the saw blade is a little more useful cause theres a surprising amount of times where theres a group of enemies you have to kill but they way they're positioned makes it difficult to just use an explosive. example being that small hallway area in 1-2 that has 9 filth spawn. They way they run at you from around 4 different walls makes it near impossible to just use one explosive to clear them out but with the saw launcher they just run right into it like nothing. Is it the fastest way of dealing with them? probably not, but for my own runs its easy and its still just as fast as anything else i can think of. overall have to agree thats its kinda meh but thats more cause its trying to fill a niche roll (crowd control when you cant use an explosive) than it just actually being bad.
clicked on this thinking it was just a normal guide on how the sawblade launcher works and now its over on fucking trigonometry and triangles and my brain is too smooth for this shit edit: this is a fucking fever dream, keep it up my g
In that first b-roll cybergrind footage, I saw your skybox was absolutely beautiful. Incredible in almost every way, truly it was like god was trying to show me, the viewer, something. It was magnified, and I expect it to be used for every videos b-roll, cybergrind with that skybox, no every sandbox b-roll must contain that skybox
One of my favorite things to do in cybergrind is to shoot a magnet straight down on a bounce pad so that it just bounces up and down, and then load it with saws as any lesser enemy is shredded in a midair flow of blood.
You know that you can fill the overheat heat sink with a single silver nail, right? You can swap between green nailgun and blue nail/sawgun to keep the overheat filled for a super long time if you time the inputs right. Great way to clear Hideous Mass or Mind Flayers in CG.
@@geoffreyprecht2410 thats true but you can still do it with the silver saw and i just think the silver saw is a better option that the nailgun. I literally only ever used the regular nailgun to place nails and get instant heatsink of the overheater, the sawblade for overheater is kinda meh and i lose out on the insane burst damage of the instant overheat, and the silver saw has pretty cool uses that come in handy sometimes, so it just feels like a good combo
the main issue I see for the buzzsaw launcher in cybergrind is that there is no closed corridors. there needs to be a way to make roofs in cybergrind, than it'd kick ass... I think
Problem of nailgun for me is that it’s most useful for burst damage but once i mastered shotgun swapping, it quickly became just an alternative. I will try some sawblade but i clearly see that it would fit my gameplay a bit better However i see that it has a big problem with ammo, it needs a buff like at least five more saws
The saw launcher is overpowered. You can literally saw through tough enemies with ease despite this being a "crowd control" weapon. Just put a magnet down next to your target then load it with saws. Annihilation.

So sawblade is fantástic for this
