I'm sorry to hear your house is not selling quickly, we were very very lucky!! I can't imagine this roller-coaster of a ride going on for too long, it's so stressful isn't it! I hope you get an outcome really soon lovely!! 🌸
We are in a similar situation after a devastating ice storm this past winter. It’s been very hard to leave our home we built 30 years ago on beautiful acreage! But we are getting too old for that much care. Everyone’s feedback is that it is still a beautiful space, but no offers yet after 6 weeks. Very, very stressful as you know. Let’s hope things align for all of us soon so we can move on with less stress! 🧑🏼🎨😀
Big yards and houses take a lot of work. I will not miss our very large and hard to maintain garden, that's for sure!! I'm sure the perfect family who is meant for your home will find it very soon. 💗
Oh, I am so excited for you! Another UA-cam friend of mine moved into her new home that she had built about a year ago and her home is amazing. Her craft room is beautiful. I can’t wait to see your new craft space. I just know it’s gonna be amazing! I wish you all the best on your new adventure!

When other UA-camrs have "disappeared" on me, I always check the community tab after a few weeks for news. I perfectly understand life changes and the need to take a break for various reasons, but at some point, no word at all, leads me to believe a channel has ended. Thanks Ali, yeah parts of the GC are crazy busy, so it will be nice to move to a quieter area. I remember the girls could all ride their bikes down our street safely when they were little and now it’s packed with cars. Super excited to be down sizing and going somewhere quieter 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

I just found your channel but I'm in a similar situation, we'd been in our first home for over 20 years but we also felt the need for a change and so we prepared our home and it sold in 4 days for more than we asked for it and we moved into a rental. Unfortunately we've had large delays in the development of the parcel of land we chose, but things are moving forward now, and we should be in our new home by Christmas 2025 🤞
Love having an aussie papercrafter channel will definitely pick your brains for any local suppliers!! (Even tho im in Vic!)

There are both good stressors (good stress, or eustress, is the type of stress you feel when you’re excited) and bad stressors (bad stress, or distress, however, is the kind that wears you out, leaves you jittery and is harmful to your health.). I hope-hope-hope that your good stress carries you through this exciting period of change in your life. I am learning to lean into the good stress and let the rest work itself out. There is only SO much I can control. Thank you!! Yes, GC gal through and through, I love it here! So funny you mention the craft room, as it turns out, it will be a down size... the entire house will be and we are excited for the that. The one we had was so.much.work!! Less time cleaning and gardening means more time crafting!! 🙌
Gwen, the best of luck to you in your new venture. Looking forward to seeing your move and your new craft space. I would advise living in your new craft space before deciding on custom cabinets. I have built-ins, and they really don't allow for any flexibility in the room if I wanted to change things up. If it's something you really want, then go for it! Just a word of caution, but they do look beautiful!
Thank you for this suggestion, I was thinking about that! I've had my IKEA units for so long now and we are down-sizing so some of that needs to change. I don't want to commit to a custom option if I'm not sure I'll like it. I really appreciate this advice, I'm thinking I might do it in a few steps... eg. Move into the space, and then get the cabinets done.

You learn as you go along and there are most definitely things I'd do differently second time around that's for sure. This move is a little different though because we are down sizing. I hope I get all the choices right!!
Every change takes us out of our comfort zone and is scary, however the changes we choose are always welcome in our lives. Trust, believe, everything will work out. And when you're ready, come back to continue enchanting us with your wonderful ideas.

I know right??? Amazing!! We had one open home and 8 offers, 2 of them were cash!! Such a dream for a seller. The market here is very competitive and when a great house comes on the market, everyone wants it, we were certainly very blessed! 😇

I feel you. I’m in the process of moving. Right now, we are in our new home but our stuff is not. Waiting isn’t my strong point. 😢 inconsistency is my name right now.
I am so so impatient too 🤣🤣🤣 and I hate the idea of being inconsistent so it’s been unsettling that’s for sure. I’d love to just fast forward time to when we are all in and set up and back to comfortable 🤪

I am in Australia on the Gold Coast.... we are staying local, not moving too far, just to a suburb that is less busy. Our house was very close to a university and hospital and there are a lot of uni students living in the area now. Both of those things have been built since we moved there. So it's just gotten busier and busier. The new suburb is a little further out so it's quieter.

Our once great cities have been destroyed, throughout the West. I don't blame you for leaving the city. After 18 years of living, and working in Bridgeport, and New Haven, CT, I'm lucky I lived to tell the story. Multiculturalism has been a huge failure. Good luck in your new home!

Wow Gwen. How very exciting. We moved a few years ago from a large home in a bustling city where we had been for about 27 years to a smaller community and smaller house as our children had grown and left home. It was chaotic and yet wonderful to set up in a smaller, friendlier community. We now live just around the corner from our daughter, son-in-law and our one and only darling granddaughter and are delighted to be more involved with her. We are so happy in our new town. I wish you a great new and exciting adventure. I look forward to videos from you as and when you can. ❤ 🇨🇦 😊

Thank you!! Ahh, my dresses are all from a brand called Karma East. They have dress called 'Vivien' that comes in a bunch of different prints and I almost have one of each 🤣 So comfortable to wear and I love that the prints are unique.
