I like how most of the conversation isn't really about Genji himself (outside of dash management and flanking which are what make Genji unique), but bigger contextual ideas like space, forcing duels, commitment, positioning, resource management, etc.
That's because a lot of knowing how to play a certain character is just knowing their micro + having good fundamentals! (and we all know which of these two the Genji community is desperately lacking)
Haha true, I guess it just always surprises me how good your tips are, given that there is a lot of lesser content out there. Something just clicks with your tips❤
I haven't played him in 6v6 much, from what I heard he would need a small buff there but without experience myself I wouldn't make any statements on the topic
Helpful vid that makes a lot of sense. But also kind of sad how our kit is relegated to almost pure defensive use and most good genji gameplay ends up being posturing and waiting for opportunities most of the match
I wouldn't consider this "defensive" play, instead opting for "cautious proactivity". I needed to be careful in a lot of matchups, but I was playing good, aggressive angles that Genji loves, creating my own opportunities through soft engagements and all of that. If anything, the community's perception of what passive and aggressive play are is WILDLY broken due to the culture around the character, because I've had a lot of people thinking that I'm a much more passive player than someone like Hiku when that very much isn't the case (I may avoid poking much more, but I'm always looking to setup my proximity to get meaningful engagements going rather than playing mid range off angles and following up on a tank engagement)
This type of video is kind of both! I'm not narrating as I'm playing, I'm adding narration to a recorded match talking about my thought process and sprinkling in some tips and tricks to cover the fundamentals! If what you are looking for are some more in-depth breakdowns however, those are coming soon, so watch out for that ;)
That's true but not practical in certain scenarios. Some maps + matchups (like a full comp built around beating you as well as a team that doesn't want to counter their counters) are simply too much for you to realistically overcome due to the MASSIVE skill diff required for that to happen

sounds like he deserves a nerf.

watching this mid scrim to figure out how to play genji
LOL good luck
I just wish they would give him something tho he definitely feels way to weak especially in 6v6 max 3 min 1

@ I just feel like idk at least for me, he only feels bad because everyone has been running goats

1 min ago is CRAZY
bro was faster than Genji on this one
Honestly if you’re good enough, nothing counters you. doesn’t even matter what hero your playing just git gud
Solid advice but it's useless, he's giving tips on how to git gud duhh

That doesn't mean anything since a fair number of your opponents playing your counters will be "good enough" too
First!
nice!
