    Honestly, the way Genji is designed in Overwatch, (even in the current state of the game) this character is genuinely DEADLY in the right hands. You have to be a master of every skill, (mechanics, positioning, timing, knowledge, etc.) in order to play him properly, and it's very easy to tell apart a good Genji player from a bad Genji player, and that's the beauty of this character.

      Hard onetricking is not easy. If climbing is your goal, you should consider maybe playing soldier as a backup if enemy counters you. (Soldier bc he is pretty straight forward and usually viable in every plat/dia game, but whatever works for you)

      he is fun, but not nearly as much as Genji. Also, he's overtuned, so that plays a part as well. I would love to see him get nerfed into a reasonable state before we get sick of him due to his stats being broken instead of his design being bad, because it is quite good

    Super new Genji player here!
    Any tips on mastering the 1 hit combo where you dash through the enemy, 180-right click into melee?
    Anytime I dash into enemies, I tend to lose sight of them when they're too close, even more so when I dash past them. The time it takes for me to do a 180 and get my bearings I feel is more than enough time to kill me.

    • @HarmlessPoke
      @HarmlessPoke  11 днів тому +1

      Sounds like your sensitivity is too low! Besides that, I would go into the practice range or any other sort of practice mode such as some custom workshop codes and just dash through enemies, then try to 180 at the correct time, over and over to start getting practice volume in so you can get used to the motion. Make sure that you land close to your target though, as there's no point in dashing if you end up further away than when you started! (this can be done by dashing at the ground to shorten the dash if you are closer than 15m away)

    Perfect guide for a „new“ genji player (50hours). Im still in gold but tbh Its not so important for me to climb out of gold because i dont like playing more rounds after ranked placements. In quickplay it doesnt matters if we loose and you can enjoy the fun but in ranked its more complicated and someone is getting harsh too you when you do a mistake or dont counterswap because some people want you to do stuff and if you dont you are trolling or throwing. Its not worth it for me rn maybe I will play more ranked someday when overwatch finally get more players but the devs must think about things what needs to be improved so the game gives you a better experience again. Nowadays ranked games become too stressful for me after 2-4 games (2 wins 2 loses) im out and do a break 😅😆

      Tracking is jittery no matter the sensitivity, windows mouse speed, dpi, resolution or fov, and it's weirdly affected by polling rate in a sense that the lower the polling rate the more it sticks and becomes gradually stable but no fully and also the lower the framerate you get it's very strange phenomenon

    I just don't like one tricking in this game. Coaching an australian player that's on 150 ping on NA or korea depending on the time of day, and his most playtime is on Genji. But he's also got 2-3 other picks pretty close to his Genji potential. He was masters 2 focusing on Genji. Know where he is now, adding tracer and pharah? Top 36. On the NA laddder. With that ping. Generally sitting top 80 the past few days if we wanna ignore the peak so far. Genji just feels like one tricking Moira. You can, but you're shooting yourself and your team in the foot. Though I admit you shouldn't ever choose what or who you play based on your team, maybe only in scrim setting. You better be having all the fun in the world, all I can say about it.

    • @HarmlessPoke
      @HarmlessPoke  19 днів тому +1

      If you have the time to get multiple heroes to the same level, it's absolutely better to be flexible! It's just not really doable for most players, and as you said, fun plays a big part in it. I really love Genji, so while I COULD flex, I prefer to just put in 99% of my time on him =)

      @HarmlessPoke I agree but it sucks he never gets attention for 2 years. They said they'll nerf blade and put power in base kit, never did. Also he's enabled by meta heroes like Juno Mauga recently so they never look at him cuz of winrate. Also didn't give him 28 dmg even in 6v6 patch :( I only play 6v6 now cuz I can kill tanks like monkey and not just run away

      @HarmlessPoke  24 дні тому +1

      @@rogue4340 I agree with the 6v6 part, and yeah, what they did early on in OW2 to him was dirty, but honestly the S9 changes (especially the projectile size increase) made his base kit MUCH better, and even to an extent blade, although that's a hot take lol

    • @HarmlessPoke
      @HarmlessPoke  24 дні тому

      When I first got the notification for this comment, I was gonna make a joke with the accusation (taking it as a compliment) as I haven't been hackusated in years lol. After watching the clip, I can actually understand where you are coming from, although it would be extremely stupid for a cheater to be that blatant.
      I play this game on >180ms, and when you view a player on that ping in a replay of any sort (kill cam or actual replay code) you see the result of the game doing its best to combine the client side and server side, resulting in some weird stuff that would never happen on LAN.
      A great example I can give is blading, as when I get the final swing for a kill, I need to wait for the game to register it, which gives me a small window of time to flick away from the target and towards where I want to actually go, then hold shift to buffer the skill (so it goes off the moment the server registers the kill). This is NOT possible on low latency as the game would have registered the swing kill immediately, which means that when you watch the replay code (which is what I used for the video most of the time) the game will show me doing a 1 frame flick, which is NOT what actually happened on my screen.
      That explains some of the stuff that could get me hackusated, but not YOUR claim tho, which is related to something else: packet loss. The moments where my information isn't actually sent to the server cause the same behaviour, with the result being an instant flick (or, at least, that's what I believe causes these flicks that you mentioned)
