    Learning windmills (or any other powermoves) requires you to be able to recognize, spot mistakes, and then correct them.
    What I’ve done here is to create a video highlighting the THREE MOST COMMON MISTAKES you are making in your windmills… and how to spot and correct them.
    Skip to relevant parts:
    0:47 - Mistake #1
    3:28 - Mistake #2
    5:39 - Mistake #3
    Music:
    "Just Nasty" by Kevin MacLeod
    "Leslie's Strut" by John Deley and the 41 Players

    Thank you! This is amazing. I would also like to add that flexibility is a determining factor to windmills too. I noticed my windmills feeling much better after I worked on my flexibility.

    I like the negative demonstrations. I can see clearly what I do wrong and I realized how important to use the non-master leg for the swing. Hope to see more tutorials especially 90s or 2000 to see the negative demonstrations 😁👍

    I haven't even finished watching and this is the most helpful tutorial I've ever watched on windmill. Everyone needs to see this after watching a "How to Windmill" tutorial. I've been practicing for a while now and didn't know about the master and non-master legs at all!! That was extremely helpful.

    I’m trying to windmill from a stab or sometimes just from my knees with one leg out, but every time I kick and collapse my arm, I hit my hips and it hurts ... a lot, it’s discouraging me from power, is the problem purely that I’m not leaning back enough??

    hey bro,I need your help.I had pretty decent windmills and used to do barrels with no effort.I stopped breaking for about a year and toda i found that i couldn't do windmills more than 1 round..I think i still got the technique but still can't do it...I also have become a little fat after stopping bboying. Do you think this is a strenght issue or what.Give me some tips. Please. I am frustrated. Thank u in advance

    • @alexandersnider1198
      @alexandersnider1198 6 років тому +1

      Eheelen Thokchom In my opinion, I would condition the freeze and work on strength first. Then it might be easier to do the windmills and work on technique. But I'm not that good lol.

    I'm a CCW guy and my biggest problem is that my right foot keeps scraping the floor when I get back to the stab position. I've been practicing Shoulder Freeze to Stab but I just can't seem to keep my foot off the ground. What should I do?
    Another thing to note is that I somehow end up smacking the right side of my head into the ground when going back to the stab.

  • @richardtang8227

    Does it matter where I practice the windmill? I usually practice on carpet, will it be harder to do windmills?

    • @ErinHuangBDD
      @ErinHuangBDD  7 років тому

      Richard Tang of course it matters! would a parent let a child learn how to walk on an ice skating ring? the point is make sure your learning environment and yourself is ready to learn the move, that means smooth floor and any clothing that can reduce friction. there are different type of carpets but in general carpets make it harder to mill

  • @ScottyLuu
    @ScottyLuu 7 років тому

    Weird question: How are you blacking out the background and keeping the floor? Looks pretty cool and was curious about how to do it.

    i cant seem to fix the third mistake. i can do it with the pop but i land on my feet so i cant do the next windmill. i just cant do the one without the pop. any tips?

    • @ErinHuangBDD
      @ErinHuangBDD  6 років тому

      TheJustinliu you would have to control the pop and use more core. If your legs are bending alot it is wrong. Try to treat it like a complex sit up where you have to twist yourself into hand glide freeze

    • @ErinHuangBDD
      @ErinHuangBDD  8 років тому

      Hey dude, exercise number 3 is the hardest. if you can do the previous 2 exercises easily in their repetitions, 3 would be easier. For starters I highly recommend you to lean into the left shoulder freeze and then rotate and catch into your right stab

  • @roneman20
    @roneman20 7 років тому

    So I have a question, actually 2.
    What type of flooring would you suggest for a beginner to practice?
    Is windmill real hard on the upper body? Thanks for your time...

    • @ErinHuangBDD
      @ErinHuangBDD  7 років тому +1

      roneman20 smooth flooring, with a good smooth jacket. reduce as much as possible the external obstacles that are present for you to learn a move and you will have an easier time.
      windmills are not hard on the upper body, if you do it right the groin takes more strain from the swings

    • @roneman20
      @roneman20 7 років тому

      Breakdance Decoded thanks buddy, always nice when the poster of the video stays involved. Tomorrow is my first day, I plan 1-2 hours a day. I was told with that schedule, I should be able to complete at least one successful rotation in 3-6 months. I'll keep you abreast to my progress, and will be watching your videos for help.

    • @ErinHuangBDD
      @ErinHuangBDD  7 років тому +1

      No problem, do support us if you can!
      If you have good flexibility and some strength you would be able to get 1 rotation in weeks. The harder part would be to translate the momentum and repeatedly generate it with each rotation.

    • @ErinHuangBDD

      Daniel Coben could do with the timing of your legs. Generally u want your legs to keep pace without slowing. Rely more on your legs than your stab
