    How do you make the swipes look so dope that people can’t ignore such a common power move? You clean up the technique. It’s time for you to polish the raw diamond that’s already in your hands.
    But hey, don’t practice blindly. What do you need to do then?
    Break down and understand the problems you already have.
    Are your hands in the right position? Are you facing the right way? How are you landing? Which part of you is not holding up? Are your legs actually kicking or just moving for the sake of it? Those are questions you’re likely to ask when you encounter the few big swipe mistakes.
    To make it easy for you to identify your mistake(s), watch the video below. It’s 7 minutes in length, but it will save you 70 hours of unnecessary and blind training.
    Psst... Here are the timings to each segment:
    0:33 - Common Mistake #1
    2:35 - Common Mistake #2
    4:52 - Common Mistake #3
    Music:
    Calaminus - "Here We Go Again"
    Media Right Productions - "Funk It Up Old School"

    I think you are the first one on UA-cam to explain the clock hand positioning for swipes. Guess they just expect you to figure it out for yourself. Very good vid tho

    Oh wow, this is cool! I like that you demo positives first, then the mistakes. You show and explain everything pretty clearly, and include multiple angles, which is super helpful!!
    I can't dance to save my life, but I want to animate characters dancing, and these tutorials will help me make portray more accurate moves. Thanks for making these videos!!

    Great videos mate, I'm continually impressed by how you're pushing forward the way breaking is taught. I think a nice tweak to your vids would be to summarise your exercises in a list either in the vid, or in the description. Cheers!

    Hi Erin, I have a question about this video. In the third mistake you talked about land the leg on 90º on the floor, but I usualy have noticed that sometimes the problem is the hips, the person dont have enought abs strenght and when he land the hips go down, dont have stabilization. Am I Wrong? If no, I could doing more abs exercise to correct them?

    The tutorial is great, as always. Keep it up. The only thing I want to mention is that you might have to start thinking about upgrading the visual quality of your videos. What does that mean? It means that you may have to start overusing Sony Vegas or Adobe After Effects and make some attractive intros, breaks, etc. instead of the bare black screens with the white fonts. It really helps attracting more audience.

    actually moving in a straight line can be of some good use, to move and use more space instead of just staying on one spot, so mixing going in straight line and circular would be dope: )

    • @ErinHuangBDD
      @ErinHuangBDD  8 років тому

      Yep, wouldn't disagree.
      But for those starting out and trying to get swipes - going circular is safer. They can mix it up later when they have mastered it!

    I have been doing swipes for quite a while now, but i can only land with both legs instead of just the right leg not only that, my swipe rotates 180° instead of the normal 90°. Any advice?

    • @ErinHuangBDD
      @ErinHuangBDD  7 років тому +1

      Donald Quek hey Donald I won't be too concerned about the 180 degree, just some hand placement when you throw, it's not wrong to go 180 degrees too, just make sure you consciously do it. legs wise u have to do that one leg jump in the video and get used to it :)
