The recruitment system in Suikoden 5 is more ... hmm how to put it... "in depth", meaning you have to work for it :) Making wrong decisions, giving wrong answers, cause the recruitment to be more difficult. So yes.. think twice and thrice before you say something to potential stars of destiny :)
