I am filipino graduating here in Perth for my Masters in Engineering: Civil Struc and i really love your videos. I don't know what to do soon and what to expect in my future field but thankyou for highlighting these stuffs as a starter. I'm really nervous actually. 😂
The Philippines have a big need for buildings that can withstand both earthquakes and extreme weather, don't they? If you can add in energy efficiency (embodied and operational) then you should be busy for a while. A net zero building that won't fall down or blow away and isn't unaffordably expensive to buy is a useful asset, whether it's a home or a workplace, or both.
I will start studying structural wood engineering in germany in two months and I will definitely use your tips during my time at university to create a strong portfolio. Thx for these great videos!
Do make sure when you use floor plans found online that the legal status of that drawing allows you to use it like that. Posting an image online is not an automatic authorisation for anyone to do whatever they want with that image.
Can you please make a video on which apps are used worldwide for different situtations and needs in civil/structural engineer and which appy you recommend.
Hello, I just found your channel. I just took a structural analysis course recently, and it’s got me interested in this side of the civil field. For my college program, I have to do 3 co ops. 2 of them have been with construction companies, and I’m hoping to get a design co op for the third one. My question is, how can I break into the structural design side of the field? I’m worried I don’t know enough for a company to take me on.
I had part-time jobs all throughout university. At times in 3rd and 4th year I was doing full time study, part-time work, and had an internship. They were very busy times indeed!
@@BEngHielscherHi man.. I'm always following your videos thanks man.. I'm based in Lusaka, Zambia how can you help me get a part time Job from your area? I am a Civil Engineer by profession and I am now majoring in structural Engineering.
Brother can tell me which job is best and which is easy to inter in this field as a fresher ( Bim Engineer or Structural engineer) ... What's your opinion please tell us....
Brilliant video mate, keep it up! A quick question - would you say from your personal experience, is it better to get a Beng degree and start getting work experience or pursue Masters? Currently I am a Beng student, finished my second year and I do feel quite burned out and not sure if extra year is gonna be good for me mentally. From what I gathered from industry recruiters, they d rather get somebody with a year of experience rather than a masters student. Obviously every company is different and this is not always the case, but just wanted to get your opinion on it.
Thanks! Industry experience is very valued. If you can find a role at a fast placed small company the learnings you will have can sometimes far out weigh what you would learn during a masters. Formal education is still important but if you want a break this wouldn’t be a bad way to spend it :)
Appreciate you taking your time to respond. Needed to hear something like this for a while! Keep making great content, it is always helpful and enjoyable to watch.
Please don't add music to your vids at the same time as your voice. It makes it much harder to concentrate on what you're saying. If there's a significant gap in the voice track, that's a place for *quiet* music - with no hard beats or high-pitch sounds, please! - just so that viewers know the audio hasn't dropped out. While you are speaking, music serves no useful function at all.
As a sophomore civil engineering student who’s interested in structural/land development I really appreciate your videos
Thanks!

Hey man, I’m just wondering, during your studies in university, did you have a part time job or did you solely focus on university?
I had part-time jobs all throughout university. At times in 3rd and 4th year I was doing full time study, part-time work, and had an internship. They were very busy times indeed!
@@BEngHielscher thanks for the reply mate!

Can you make a video about the use of artificial intelligence in structural engineering??
Solidworks taught me how to frame from UA-cam.
I didn't get it are you civil engineer or structure engineer?
Structural engineer
Structure is branch of civil engineering
Hey brother! are you looking for a video editor for high-quality edits? let me know, if you’re interested.
