I plan on attempting this with a very very basic Singer, it's an antique "toy" model, great for beginners like me...but I do indeed plan on attempting this with my basic sewer lol. I may make one for my cat too.
So if i wanted it longer, i can add more rows, and fuller,by adding more squares? So then when sewing rows together i just match up and ruffle each row to the one its being sewed to, and ill get a fuller skirt? Thx tina
Hi! I am SO sorry! I'm not some 'big UA-camr' so I never think to check my notifications, since I rarely get anyone commenting. I feel terrible for missing your question! As Leesie has said, yes, provided the scraps are similar fabric it should be fine. Otherwise you may find the heavier fabrics pull on the lighter fabrics and create tears, especially in the wash!
I would have sewn long vertical panels from waist to hem with an A shape and then sewn the panels together. In ths way it woud fall better, Also with a more limited colors it would look less like a quilt.
The vertical panels idea would be interesting to try! If I'm going for the A-shape look I'll keep it in mind. As for the colours, it's up to personal preference too 😁 if you end up making one to your specifications I would love to see it!
Love it but definitely not beginner friendly. For a visual learner, the video was rushed & could not see how you were laying the fabric out to serge it. It would help if you show more of how you were putting everything together. Other than that, love the choice of colors
very cute skirt I know what my sewing stash wil go into great directions
Love your beautiful skirt❤
Hi,
I really liked your tutorial, please can you let us know how many Squares you used?
Cheers

That is a beautiful skirt, well done 👏👏👏
Woooow! I love this tutorial. I can now make use of the waste fabrics that I have.
WOO!

Eline sağlık . Güzel olmuş.
About how many squares did you use?

I love this!
This is amizing!❤
I don’t have a server. Can it be done with a regular sewing machine?
Very nice!
Very nice
I love this. Let's say I borrow your idea and make some skirts similar. Do you mind if I sell them?
Haha! Go for it. It's so simple, no one could really patent it or anything crazy. Make and sell till your heart's content!
@@ctrlaltcraft thank you, you're sweet! I only ask because another UA-camr got her knicks all in a twist over the same thing.
@@r.b.johnson5269 oh my! Well good thing you checked then! No worries 😁💕
It is awesome. Can we use scrap fabrics for the squares?
I think as long as the scraps are of a reasonably similar fabric it should be fine. As in thickness/weight, woven/knit etc.

@@leesie156 Thanks for answering their question! :-)
@@ctrlaltcraft no problem! I recently finished a patchwork skirt with 170 different patterned fabrics in it. It took a while 😜
@@leesie156 WOAH! GO LEESIE! That's amazing! 😂

Totally different design, no longer a patchwork skirt

Can you tell me what make your serger is?
Sadly I can not. I bought it YEARS ago. Sorry :(
I’m still so confused. 😅
Oh no! I'm so sorry. I'm not very good at teaching.
Is this tiered skirt??🙄
Talk too much
You complain too much-you must be single 🤣
