      Or they have been to those places and don't hear it...... I think he was pretty on point for some of the places I've been or some folks I've met from those places. NC was accurate for the middle of the state. SC was accurate enough for Charleston but not Greenville. I have no idea what language people from Alabama are speaking. Pittsburgh was off and they sound nothing like anyone from the Philly area. Wisconsin outside of Milwaukee is actually way thicker. Southern Ill is pretty accurate East St Louis is hella country; but Jefferson MO; is more midwestern and SoCal is all over the place LA and Huntington Beach are very different accents. Never been to PNW or Plains area. Met a couple from Tacoma. They sound like west coast Canadians to me.

      I thought he got WV and the Carolinas spot on, but not VA (my home state) or GA. Both were too antebellum sounding for post 2000. Virginia has so many accents all by itself- my original accent was very Andy Griffith sounding because I was from SW. I think Fred was going for Richmond, which has very unique patterns like OU in "out" "about" and "house". He got Baltimore spot on though!

      We "westerners" have a weird mixture of accents that's almost not an accent. That doesn't make sense but, between towns and cities it's noticeable. Go to Springfield, Holyoke, it's between Boston, NYC, Vermont. Go to Amherst, Easthampton, Westfield, it's Vermont, Connecticut, Boston, a little vaguely southern. I've lived all over Western MA and have picked up a bit of everything. We are a melting pot of accents. The Valley seems to have held onto bits of everything.

    Va has so many accents so i'm kind of disappointed he didn't say a specific part of Virginia. He kind of nailed the general Va accent. That is one you will hear around the rural coastal areas of Virginia. The eastern shore of Va is cut off from most of the mainland US so you get a lot of really strong accents and large variation. There's one part that speaks in old english

    • @earlitobandito5752
      @earlitobandito5752 3 роки тому

      Yeah the eastern shore definitely feels like they were left behind in the times. All very nice people though compared to northern VA where everyone is only about themselves

    I love how Fred went from Oklahoma and then on up to Illinois before going on an northern arc west. Pretty sure that's because the neutral accent of the mid-west is pretty boring, no fun twang, just the occasional omission of common words when we ask questions and that's about it.

    I'm not even American, but somehow I just feel that fred's are so right, that even the ones I've never heard before I trust in him! Mo's aussie & Russian were horrible but the others were okay

    • @Aleyi7
      @Aleyi7 2 роки тому

      And his British accent too. Tbf American's generally butcher British and Australian accents. I accidently skipped forward in the video to the part where Mo was doing the Russian accent and honestly couldn't tell what it was supposed to be. But man, Trevor's set up and impressions were brilliant.
