Got pregnant at 17, had him I was 2 months after my 18th birthday. His dad ran off, so it was just me and my son. When he was about 7, he had heard two of my great-aunts talk and said that having him so young was a mistake. When we were coming home, he asked me if he was a mistake. I pulled on the side of the road and went on the backseat with him. I looked straight into his eyes and said "There is a difference between an accident, and a mistake. Since you weren't planned, you were an accident, yes. But never, for one second, think you were a mistake." and he told me that "aunt Louise" had said I (me) could've done a lot better with my life if I hadn't gotten pregnant so young. I told my son "There is nothing more important than being your mom."
That's why this is my song, pregnant in high school, no money, struggling to be a good mom; scared to death because I didn't I'm know if I could do it! Well, here we are today n he's 26 and accomplished. Served 8 years in the army, works for the sheriff's office and just got married to his soul mate. So I wouldn't ever trade me struggles for a single thing!!
This song came out when my daughter was about 6 months old. She is in college to be a nurse now. You're NEVER ready for that, so cherish them while they are little. And this song hits so different when your girl is grown. Makes me cry now (in a good way). 🥲
Don't worry. This song always makes people cry. I grew up on old school country. They sang about everything and those songs took you on a full emotional roller coaster.
I can SO relate to this song. I had my daughter when I was 17. She’s now 26 and she’s the absolute best thing that has ever happened to me. She has blessed my life for the last 26 years in ways that I could never have imagined. ❤
We had twin girls almost 40 years ago now. I still remember the smiles and hugs when they were little. And they're the same even today. Fathers of daughters. Nothing like it.
I heard Kenny say that he loves it when he sings this song during his concerts, and all the young women call their fathers, put them on speaker and hold up their phones.
Kenny *LOVES* the "young girls" 😉 his female companion is young enough to be his daughter. Kenny is almost 18 yrs older than her. He was born in March 1968...the girl he plays "house" with, born in Aug 1985! She was born 9 months before he graduated high school. ...
I’m a dad to 5, 4 of which are girls a couple are grown and making their own lives but two are still in middle school. This song hits home every single time I hear it. i think it perfectly captures the feeling of watching our kids grow. Cannot go wrong with anything by Kenny Chesney!!
Most people miss that the daughter finishes off the guy's dreams from the first verse, too...as she heads off to the coast! 😉 I love this song. Like others here have said, you can't go wrong with ANY Kenny Chesney song 💕🎶👍
Yes! He says.." Seeing his dreams go up in smoke. So much for ditching this town and hanging out on the coast." Then she "heads of the west coast." So beautiful!❤
Great reaction, Sebs. I will tell you one thing, though, as now 70-year old who had kids fairly young, in response to your comment "Fortunately, I have a lot of time." Sebs, that time with your kids goes by in a blink of your eye. Hug your kids every chance you get, because in a moment, they'll be gone and the house will be too, too quiet. Thanks for the great reaction; keep up the good work.
"you're going to miss this" is a great song by Trace Adkins. I think it is the perfect song for you, especially at this time in your life. It's a song about slowing down and cherishing every moment you have because time goes by so fast.
I love this song. I have 3 kids. They grow up so fast. I remember moving my middle daughter into her dorm for collage and leaving her there. It was awful. she was only 1 1/2 hrs away but it was still so hard. Like I said, time goes so fast. Seems like yesterday but she graduated 1 yr ago, Enjoy your kids while they are still little!!!!!!
I love how every meaningful country song about dads or daughters makes you emotional. It shows how much you love your own daughters and I'm sure you're a wonderful dad to them.
I've been a huge Garth Brooks fan, since his beginning. I've been to 4 amazing concerts. I've gone to one Kenny Chesney concert, and it was the best show I've ever seen.
Kenny Chesney has an amazing catalog of songs . Some sad but alot of upbeat and fun songs . One of those artist that sound just as good live on a beach with 50,000+ people as he does on radio. BEST CONCERT EVER......
Kenny is a beach guy & not your typical cowboy, country singer. He loves his jeans & he loves his board shorts & tank tops. He has a ton of great music. Cool tunes like this & fun party songs.
Tim McGraw was my first Country concert 🎵 and Kenny Chesney was my 2nd. I’ve seen them both several times. My husband cried when this song was played at our daughter graduation
I like ALOT of Kenny Chesney. Have a great day. Love and life are made to share and appreciate. Thanks for getting the song out there because the message is ALL HEART
I love hearing you talk about your girls. Every child born should be treated as a blessing from God. Your capacity for love just grows exponentially when you have a child. Give’s meaning to your life.
That little girl going up the stairs looks just like my daughter did. And now my granddaughter looks just like that now. My daughter is in North Carolina and we are in Washington state so I cry at this video. Dropping my daughter off at college in South Dakota was the hardest I have ever cried in my life.
My wife and I are high school sweethearts we’ve been together 31 years now we’ve raised two beautiful kids and have three beautiful grandchildren.. I was only 17 years old where there is love nothing can stop you…great reaction..
My oldest just enrolled in college, graduates in May, and moves out in just a few months- I'm still not ready! Cherish your time with your little ones.
Kenny played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers. He is really a pretty small guy but he stays in shape. He is also a lot of fun a d very hum le a d generous.
Need to listen to Boys of Fall by Kenny Chesney, my son played football from the time he was 7, he's 32 now. Definitely watch the video. Song/video had us in tears because of all of the memories. Pretty sure Kenny played football.
Great Reaction....... Kenny has songs the are Fun: "She Thinks my Tractor's Sexy" and songs that are emotional "Don't Blink" "The Good Stuff"...... He Toured with Tim McGraw a couple times.......
This song is so beautiful! I had my daughter when I was 18, and then had my twin sons a month after I turned 20. I didn't know it then, but they saved my life. Love this song! And I love your channel. I watch your reactions every morning before work. The fact that you aren't familiar with country is kind of awesome because it gives me a new perspective on all the classics that I grew up on. Please play Mr. Mom by Lonestar. That's a funny song that definitely wouldn't make you cry. Thanks again for the great reaction videos, and much love and blessings to you, Ali, and your two beautiful blessing daughters!!! ❤❤❤
As a teen mom that is now an empty nester, put this in your Playlist and listen to it periodically. It seems like you have plenty of time, but when it's time for them to fly from the nest, it seems like it went by in the blink of an eye. It's so cliché to say but it really does.
This song came out the same year that my brother was expecting his first child, and it was right after he graduated from high school… can’t believe it’s been 20 years of living my beautiful niece ❤️❤️❤️
"I have a lot of time". Yeah I said that once, and now all five kids are grown and last one is about to move out.....No, you don't have a lot of time. This reaction is one year old. How fast did that go by? Enjoy and cherish every second while they are young. I'd give 10 years of the time I have remaining for just a week of them all being kids again.
Definitely brings me a tear every time I hear this. At 23 I became a single dad with my daughter, I had to “grow up” instantly and raise her correctly. Thankfully my parents helped but it definitely has taught us both a lot yet now in her teens it makes me sad knowing she will soon be on her life journey and I’ll be alone and learning how to be there again…
I absolutely love this song. Raised 3 daughters and watched them grow and leave the home nest. This is another one of those songs that gets to me. It's touches my heart. It's a beautiful song.
Just found your channel while finding music for a slideshow I’m putting together for my daughter that is graduating this year from high school.. When u read the comment that nobody dies & it’s not a sad song, I was thinking it just depends on who’s hearing it & what situation someone’s going through.. Cause for me it is a sad song in a sense that your baby girl is graduating high school & taking off to college.. This song was my situation. Pregnant right out of high school with a baby girl & I legit have a video of my daughter who had blue eyes & bouncing blonde curls while dragging a teddy bear up the stairs to her room & I’m fixing to help pack her car up & watch her go start her life.. Ugh I’m bawling typing this out.. Good reaction..
As a single dad of a 9yr old autistic girl. This song hits home so much. She is my everything and rock and I'm hers and her hero she says. So this song and I loved her first is the only songs ever to make Me cry so much. Cuz every word is the truth
Half of his fitness is from concerts. He runs around almost as much as Neil McCoy. Don’t ever miss a chance to see either of them in concert. They put on great shows.
Wonderful reaction. Life really is a bunch of big loops, I remember when I left home, the sense of adventure and uncertainty, then my children all grew up and did the same, now their children are almost grow and ready to leave...the cycle continues.
I up and moved halfway across the country to SoCal when I was 19 & totally did not realize how hard it was on my aunt when I did that until my son moved out at 18. He literally moved 1/2 mile from our house and it was freaking HARD!! I told my aunt immediately that I was so sorry because I could NOT imagine him being halfway across the country. 😂 He's moving again next month to a city an hour and a half from here... I'm grateful he's taking "baby steps" with me.😊
How many people notice that the song starts and ends the same way? The daughter heads off to the west coast to fulfill her dad's dream that he never got to do...and took (symbolically, in the form of that picture) her parents with her.
We had our first in high school, have 3 now and been together 26 years. The first time I played this for my wife she was fit to kill me after the first verse 😅 then cried after lol
This song always makes me cry

Had my son in high-school. Danced to this when he was 2 at my wedding. Now getting ready to dance to it at his wedding for the mother son dance!
Love that.
Super cool.
That is beautiful!
That is beautiful.... thanks for sharing...
Well I wasn't crying.... Till now! I had my daughter right after high school so I relate.
Another brilliant example of a positive message with a cleaver twist on words. The country genre does that better than all others.
The first chorus and last chorus are the same lyrics but the meaning is opposite.
OMG i'm an old rock girl, but this is beautiful. Never heard it before. Then i woke up and smelled the coffee.
One of my favorites
This is such a true song.
It's a sweet loving song.
I can SO relate to this song. I had my daughter when I was 17. She’s now 26 and she’s the absolute best thing that has ever happened to me. She has blessed my life for the last 26 years in ways that I could never have imagined. ❤

My daughter got pregnant at 17yrs old and I had to raise my grandbaby for the first few years of her life.. love them to the moon and back
I heard Kenny say that he loves it when he sings this song during his concerts, and all the young women call their fathers, put them on speaker and hold up their phones.

@@jo-andahoe9806 he’s giving Leonardo DiCaprio a run for his money. He’s currently 48, dating a 19 year old! Now that’s gross.
I tear up everytime I hear this song. I had my son at 19. I love that little boy so much.
One of the most beautiful songs written
I’m a dad to 5, 4 of which are girls a couple are grown and making their own lives but two are still in middle school. This song hits home every single time I hear it. i think it perfectly captures the feeling of watching our kids grow. Cannot go wrong with anything by Kenny Chesney!!

I wrote that as well then came down to read some remarks and seen that you had written the same thing. So I deleted mine.
Never noticed that thanks for pointing it out!
Yes! He says.." Seeing his dreams go up in smoke. So much for ditching this town and hanging out on the coast." Then she "heads of the west coast." So beautiful!❤
"His American Express". The best line in a song full of beautiful moments.
That was beautiful again ❤❤❤ thanks
Great reaction young man! Love the contrast of his dream moving to the West coast and his daughter is the one who went there! Love from Texas!!!
"you're going to miss this" is a great song by Trace Adkins. I think it is the perfect song for you, especially at this time in your life. It's a song about slowing down and cherishing every moment you have because time goes by so fast.
Yeah tats the video we need from Sebs!
I love this song. I have 3 kids. They grow up so fast. I remember moving my middle daughter into her dorm for collage and leaving her there. I love how every meaningful country song about dads or daughters makes you emotional. It shows how much you love your own daughters and I'm sure you're a wonderful dad to them.
Dude, you have a genuine soul. Good for you. You have a heart that is genuine.
I've been a huge Garth Brooks fan, since his beginning. I've been to 4 amazing concerts. I've gone to one Kenny Chesney concert, and it was the best show I've ever seen.
Great reaction. It is neat that the chorus has 3 different meanings through the song.

Trace Adkins - You're Gonna Miss This - is another one of those songs that really hits you as a parent! I highly recommend it.
Kenny Chesney has so many great songs! Great live too.

I like ALOT of Kenny Chesney. Have a great day. Love and life are made to share and appreciate. Thanks for getting the song out there because the message is ALL HEART
honestly bro, watching your country reactions has been the most wholesome joy I've experienced in a while.
One of the most beautifully written songs I've ever heard.
I love hearing you talk about your girls. Every child born should be treated as a blessing from God. Your capacity for love just grows exponentially when you have a child. Give’s meaning to your life.
We have two boys and this song still resonates so deeply.
Great song. He and Ziggy Marley did a song called Love for Love city. Yep Ziggy sang with a country singer 😂 nother great song.
Absolutely fantastic song
That little girl going up the stairs looks just like my daughter did. And now my granddaughter looks just like that now. My daughter is in North Carolina and we are in Washington state so I cry at this video. Dropping my daughter off at college in South Dakota was the hardest I have ever cried in my life.

My baby girl just turned 20 and all I can think about is were did the time go.
Love Kenny Chesney!
I bought this album when it came out in 2004. Loved it. But that second verse brings me to tears since 2019 when I finally had my daughter.
I love your reactions because you share your family with us and show us your heart. Thank you.
This song came out the same year that my brother was expecting his first child, and it was right after he graduated from high school… can’t believe it’s been 20 years of living my beautiful niece ❤️❤️❤️

Kenny is my favorite Country artist. Puts on a phenomenal show
Half of his fitness is from concerts. He runs around almost as much as Neil McCoy. Don’t ever miss a chance to see either of them in concert. They put on great shows.
My daughter moved to Colorado last year, she just turned 18. It tore my heart out of my chest. I miss her so much!

😮This one is Good!
Fantastic reaction! I love this song/video so much! Amazing what can be conveyed in just a few minutes!
We had our first in high school, have 3 now and been together 26 years. The first time I played this for my wife she was fit to kill me after the first verse 😅 then cried after lol
