- It’s not clear when or even if Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is going to deliver on his promise to annex a large chunk of the occupied West Bank. It’s even less clear what the Palestinian strategy will be if it happens. HARDtalk’s Stephen Sackur speaks to the Palestinian ambassador in London Husam Zomlot. With the conflict at a turning point, does the Palestinian leadership have the vision, imagination and credibility to mount an effective response?
The Palestinian Ambassador is excellent! He has managed to make his point and at the same time expose the hypocracy of the West. They are unwilling and unable to make the Government of Israel act within International law.
The whole reason for the US and most Europe countries support Israel over the Palestine is because first, they did not want Jews to overrun in their own countries. Instead they preferred to dump their Jewish problem in someone else doorstep, and what better way to do that than in the Middle East. Second, having Israel as the Western ally in the ME region serves as a way to destabilize region and keep the Muslim countries divided. Why? Because it is easier to control the oil supply in the region from a divided Muslim community than a unified one. Dirty as it sounds but it all come down to oil money for the controlling Western elites

Typical British interview, interviewer is totally uneducated! It is quite shameful. But of course well edited by the BBC to cut Husam off at the right points. All things considered we need to remember this whole situation was because of the UK! Palestine couldn’t have a better voice. As always well spoken and educated! Hundreds of interview like this where he turns every point. When will the western world learn!!

Steven, if someone breaks into your house and then makes themselves out to be the rightful owner, and then expects you to accept the corner of your garden as your new home. Would you then say let’s accept these terms?

The interviewer does not seem to recognize that Palestine is under occupation and the UK is responsible. Unlike partion of India, the UK made a big mess then walked away without resolving it.

"I saw small boys baited and killed by Israeli soldiers in the Gaza refugee camp of Khan Younis. The soldiers swore at the boys in Arabic over the loudspeakers of their armored jeep. People in all of Palestine have been taking the streets for the past couple of weeks, fighting against the forced displacement of Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah and the Israeli agenda of further Judaization of occupied land, as well as Israel's assaults on Palestinians in Al-Aqsa Mosque and the brutal assault on Gaza.
While the case of Sheikh Jarrah has sparked a wide Palestinian uprising, it is not the only case of ethnic cleansing in Palestine and East Jerusalem in specific. Joining the families in Sheikh Jarrah are Palestinian residents of the village of Silwan, who will also be facing the same reality of dispossession in the near future, a reality caused by settler entities implementing Israel's political wills.

If historical territorial claims become a precedent then surely the first nation Americans should be given their land back, the aborigines of Australia should get theirs back. @@feargalmacd22 that is true, but keep in mind that Arab Israelis are only a minority so they don't threaten the Jewish character of the state. If all Palestinians that live under Israeli rule were given Israeli citizenship, then we will become the majority and Jewish hegemony will cease to be, and this is against the very fundamentals of zionism, which called for Jewish sole domination in the holy land.
