- The Pioneer DJ DDJ-1000 controller is the latest flagship DJ controller that was recently released to work perfectly with the Rekordbox DJ software. This controller comes with full-sized mechanical style jog wheels found on the CDJ's with full color hi-res screens in the middle to show waveforms and other track information.

Just traveled 🧳 5hours to get this for a good price 2nd hand , I have the prime 4 & had the ddj800 but this controller, powerful, u can hear & feel the power in it

Don't laugh, but I started Dj'ing in 1973, my first set up was 2 Garrard SP25 decks with a slide fader preamp I constructed, and after a few gigs afforded a Citronic mixer with a 3 Goldring G99 decks, then in 1978 progressed to a Stanford M1776 mixer + Technics SL1200Mk2's, brilliant for around 10 years, now sold but now and still have the Pioneer DJM 3000 mixer & CMX 3000 and 3 years ago added the XDJ Aero with Rekordbox, that's 45 years in the game, and during all these years one can imagine amassed some brilliant quality dance tunes. My contention is most club goers are allegedly 18 and over and surely they wouldn't want to hear the ridiculous sounds that is demonstrated from 14:40 > fine if you're running a youth club with these young "bedroom jocks" but come on Dj's there are so many fine tunes around where if you need to sample think of the more mature crowds on the dance floor, practice 'mixing in' familiar samples on the fly.
I have a large mobile setup and would like to replace the DJM 3000, CMX 3000 & the Aero, this new DDJ-1000 with 4 channels is a contender as I would still have a CDJ or two for back up.
Just to add I cringe when I have been invited to private parties where the Dj is just far too young to know what tunes works best, who is more concerned in trying to impress us with he's ability and skill using all of the multiple effects available which completely looses the plot. (Dj from the UK)

Rohan : I know you're being facetious but that doesn't faze me, but funny thing is you are nearly right, I only play what works best dependant on the function, young Dj's are fine for young crowds, you have to start somewhere, another rule is I very rarely play requests as most times it doesn't fit in with my repertoire, something that all performers have otherwise your gig could sound disjointed, again dependant on the function most have a plan which includes sets played at the right time building up to a crescendo, don't play your killer tracks too early.
Hello from a fellow Ellis. I was born in 78 didn't start messing around with decks (Technics Sl-BD 22's) until around '91 and then quickly progressed onto 1210's. I've done some clubs, pubs and raves in my distant past - owned quite a few different bits of kit over the years and now once again find I have the itch for mixing. What do you recon between this and the new Denon Prime 4 coming out? Bedroom/internet radio mixing btw
MrKnightlore: I have a long time Dj friend and nearly every Monday we meet up for a chinwag and 5 years ago he purchased the Pioneer DJM-2000 plus 2 XDJ-1000Mk2 and brought over his XDJ Aero to demonstrate the dexterity of this controller, I was impressed with his mixing abilities, so I had the Aero off him, and only last week we looked up the Denon Prime 4 on UA-cam, like you say its looks good and I'll probably wait till March and go for that, I believe it supports Rekordbox, good luck fellow Dj.
I agree. I started late as a DJ but been in the House music scene for a long time. I see a lot of DJs coming with style but lack substance. I believe your track selection speaks volume on how the crowd will react. I haven't got that taste yet for I opened but plan to set the tone for the night which is always fun. I plan on getting the DDJ 1000 for I love controllers. This will fit me to a tee. If I need to play at a private event for House heads, I am right there. If I need to play at a club with CDJs and a mixer is, I have the blueprint. I own the DDJ 400, and it is so cool knowing I am working to controllers that mirror the standard CDJ and mixer.
You can change filter in settings for full kill, great review as always, this is also my favorite controller but doesn’t seem like a controller

DJ Felippo: I have had Pioneer gear as far back as '85 but my previous mixer a Stanford M1776 sounded more precise through my PA system, I'm not knocking Pioneer but i wonder if the new DENON Prime 4 that's about to be launched in March here in the UK at £1400 would be a good contender, Denon is renowned for HiFi quality and I would like to carry out an AB test.

u forgot mention that within rekordbox u can choose EQ for full kill if want to.
Aion Heros Oh, good! When he said the EQs didn't do full kill, I thought that might be a dealbreaker since I use EQ kills a lot.

Question, i got the controller secondhand and it’s like barely used. I still have to hook it up but is rekordbox pre installed? Because i don’t see a keycode or cd . And are there maybe ways i can retrieve that

I realized there isn’t any crossfader setting on the unit itself, if you set the crossfader setting in the program will it be saved on too the mixer when on standalone mode ?

Why not give the rekordbox a go ? If the controller design is enough to make you want it, why would you not give it a go ? You know pioneer will continue to evolve the software with more and more features .
I switched from serato to rekordbox and never looked back. Also rekordbox just released alphanumeric key which is the same as Camelot key in serato.

We have one of these units at the club where I work at, Its an awesome unit but just it would be WAY too much work for me to transfer my Library to RekordBox.. So I use my new DDJ SX3..
they have record buddy 2 and DJ Conversion Utility, both apps transfer all of your cue points. Crates and can be dragged from Serato and dropped into Rekordbox

So I've got one and recently dug my decks out. I'm under the impression this comes with core plan. Dvs compatible but I can't select absolute or relative it's telling me I need to upgrade. How do I set up the dvs with ddj1000?
You need to purchase the scratch pack to make it work. I forgot the name of it but you definitely need the upgrade to make it work...

But now I decided I want to buy a good mixer close to what professional club Djs would use. I want to be a home or club DJ one day. I am looking to purchase a good mixer I can use USB mostly with or without having to use a laptop. without software ? I would love to find a controller close to what a professional club Dj would use ? plug & play into speakers without having carrying a laptop- Optional. Ok to narrow down. A UNIT - with built in USB PORTS- MIC- MP3 FILES. ANTI STATIC - GOOD SOUND- I CAN RECORD UA-cam VIDEOS ? a controller close to what a professional Dj would use. Please any recommendations ? what do most night club DJ's use these days ?

no questions asked - move to rekordbox and get the DDJ 1000. I have had it since March and still run home from work every night to play like I got it yesterday. Best controller on market - period!!!!

Soundcard is better than the RB or the 400... This is not a replacement to anything just yet...
I have the DDJ-RR , and it has sequencer controls; are you missing that dedicated functionality on the 1000?
I'm not so sure... I think that is a rekordbox feature... not really a controller feature, so it should still be here too. Check the Pioneer website for sure.

Yes. Native support isn't announced unless VDJ works equally good or better with the hardware than the software it's shipped with.

Who cares... No dj in there right mind would use this with VDJ... If your relying on using VDJ you arent in need of a $1500 pro controller

This will sound better than a Behringer mixer for sure... I didn't test the Microphones in depth but the minimal testing I did worked out well...

VDJ 2018 is very advanced and RekordBox is good as well but, i have a DDJ SX2 and RekordBox is not as good with it as VDJ is
what if you have already downloaded the rekordbox program and already using it with a different controller, do i have to download it again? is there any benefits to that?
You shouldn't have to download it again. It should just work when you plug it in.
Once you have Rekordbox from any controller, is usable with any other Rokordbox controller

I'm having a clipping & distortion sound after recording my mixes I don't know if it's my computer or my ddj-1000, I'm using Acer Swift 3 i7 with 4GB of Ram, it's a Windows 10 pc.
Sounds like an issue with the computer somehow. Try to uninstall and reinstall the drivers. Also make sure you have the newest firmware for your device if one is available on the website.
What is your favorite between the ddj1000 & the numark ns7iii?

On my second unit now the first was sent back because when i use phono inputs the stand alone mixer sounds awfall.Now the second one is going back as it suffers the same thing.The sound lack top and bass and there is very little you can do with the sound it almost sounds emulated .I have gone on to forums and this is an issue. Pioneer have used some bad components here.
I have a sx2 and a denon scx8000 and the phono inputs are sweet as.I think pioneer have the thinking anyone using turntables will only use dvs therfore you will not hear how bad the sound is on this unit. Shame as they unit is great other than this i was willing to even go over to rekordbox.
ajohnstitch: Save up for the Denon Prime 4, Denon is renowned for audio quality, once you have it argue with Pioneer explaining your issues and get your money back, its your legal rights.

Q: pioneer ddj 1000 or traktor s4 mk3? Both have good stuff with it but traktor is cheaper by €300 with new traktor 3 software. Let me know which one to get
They are both great... I haven't used the S4 MK3 just yet, but it looks promising. The DDJ-1000 is one of my favorite controllers to date though... I like how it feels when in use. Great controls.
Traktor works great, but I find in having used it, it caters more to the production side of the business. Very powerful for live remixing. If you do not need a full 4 channels , the S2 Mk3 has the Haptic jog wheels which are in a sense , motorized.

denon is full standalone (less effect ) and pioneer ddj 1000 only mixer section is standalone.
it would make sense to compare mxc8000 and ddj-rx2, 'cause they both are standalone

There will be a little learning curve but definitely very close. You should be able to do normal style play on both the same.

My only gripe, believe it or not, are the jog wheels. I love this controller. Rekordbox is a HORRIBLE software so I stick with Virtual DJ. The jogs wheels get oily after about 30 minutes of cutting and scratching. A brotha gotta work with plastic gloves 🧤on this joint.

Whats the difference between the Sz2 vs 1000?
SZ2 is proprietary for Serato while the DDJ 1000 is only rekordbox.
You can use rekordbox for the SZ2 but was designed for Serato, and you can use VDJ for both of them.
Are all the features the same?
Nah, DDJ 1000 has mechanical Jog Wheels, just like the CDJs, but the SZ2 doesn't, also the DDJ 1000 has built in effects to the mixer only, more accurate to the pro setups. Plus the DDJ 1000 is £1000, much cheaper than a new SZ2.

There’s rumors a Serato version will be released soon. Search tag “ddj1000srt” on Instagram. Not positive if it’s legit but it’s been a year that this unit has been out already.
