amazing cinematics! Your game with video production is getting better and better!
Thank you 😊
At last, Nathan has a boat... brilliant mate... what a change to your fishing this means . Once you figure everything out the difference in fishing from a boat to the shore is unreal (weather permitting).. anyway mate I will expect to see u down the SW of Scotland next spring... enjoy...🎣🎣🎣🎣
It's been a long time coming mate. And yeah, really looking forward to learning the ropes and getting the most out of it. Tight lines mate!
Loving the new boat health to drive it and tight lines buddy
Cheers Stephen!
Nice new boat
Stepping up the game 👊🔥🔥
Cheers bud 👊🎣
Love the drone footage.
Beautiful bass you had there.
Tight lines 😎🎣👍🏼
Thanks dude. Hope you're good👍🎣
@@SlippyLimpets As good as I can be bro ❤
Looks like fun! Tight Lines 🐟
It is, I love being out on the water. 👍🎣
Congratulations on the new boat and I look forward to new adventures but please could you continue to take us rock fishing now and again
Definitely mate, rock fishing is my number one style still with a bit of bait fishing thrown in. Tight lines👍🎣
Brilliant, congrats on the new boat, and what a cracking bass to christen it with. Be good to see more of it in video one day. Don't get rid of your kayak though, I bought a boat and sold the Yak, wish I hadn't now.
You'll soon get to grips with it. When you taking it to Orkney? 😉😉
Exciting times, keep up the good work and I look forward to the next video.
Nice looking boat man you'll never blank again looks a fair size with the water displacement nice one I've always fancied getting one myself
I'm not sure about that but I hope you're right. She's is a fair size and a bit of an upgrade from the yak at 5.8m long with a 2.4m beam, 30cm-ish draft 100hp mercury 4 stroke.
Nathan its been a while sorry!😬however stoked to tune back in and see the new boat 🥳 looking forward to seeing you getting out dialed in
Welcome back Jon👍🎣😊
Good Morning Nathan , This was different tbh i take it you now own a boat if so good luck with it mate , i'll look forward to new adventures with the boat , so take care & tight lines
'Afternoon Steve. Yep, she's mine and hopefully will get me to some remote and inaccessible shore marks in the future. Tight lines !
Nice boat mate. Always worth motoring to the other side of where your lure is snagged. Alot of times this will get your favorite lure/gear back
Thanks for the Tip, Joe, I normally would in the kayak, but this was lost right on the shore and not somewhere I wanted to take the boat.
Eazy skipper you ok nathan, well done on christening your vessel with ya bass. All the best from GRIMSBY.
Yes Nath.
That boat will be a game changer.
I hope so mate.bjust need some sort of landing craft to access the marks I couldn't get to from the shore
@@SlippyLimpets me and a mate are hoping to go in on one here, but it's the mooring costs and maintenance which are holding me back.
It took 4 hours but your persistence paid off, nice Bass Nath. I love the pink shrimp rigs for getting the mackerel in the boat as well, and nice boat btw. All the best and TL's.
Thanks Adz, I was super happy to get something on the deck. Tight lines mate
Welcome to theTotally Awesome Slippy Locker Show. Just need to paint the dodger yellow & stick a creel on the back 🤪😌 👍
🤣🤣 maybe get a creel or two but not sure about the yellow
now thats got to feel good, another tool in the armory, speaking as one of your subs all we expect is wreck and reef caught conger, porbeagle shark, double figure cod, pollack, bass, not too much to ask, lol well done you will have some fun.
Haha, no pressure then, some of those should be manageable!
Great news on the boat! 🎉 Looks great. Good luck on the next few trips. Good to meet you yesterday. Tightlines
Thanks Alex, good to meet you too, and thanks very much for the lure👍🎣
@@SlippyLimpets ha I hope it works. Hope you enjoyed my local haunts and sorry for fanboying a bit lol🤦♀️😂
Congratulations on your new boat
Thanks Tony!
Boat looks mint mate, keep up the good work.Great vid.
Cheers mate!
Been up the east coast this week checking out some Mark's and getting battered by the weather, did well a few days and blanked others.just great to be out.super jealous of that boat, looks like an epic learning curve.keep it up mate.tight lines😎
If bait fishing in shallow water I learned years ago not to use a rod but to use a handline, boat looks great Nathan well done for spare engine, so presume you have flares/smoke/radio and lifejackets, also VERY important if fishing near shipping a radar reflector (required by law), radars do not pick up fibreglass hulls. Nice things to have are a drone and an anchor, also a couple of portable fenders and a boathook, enjoy it lad.
Thanks David. Aye, the ancillary bits have cost me a small fortune but are worth it. I've even got a PLB. Means I've been buying less beer and diesel, but can't put a price on safety
@@SlippyLimpets A PLB is good, but only if you're in the boat or have a lifejacket on, as you won't last long in the water. On that note if you intend to fish alone always have a recovery ladder rigged in case you go overboard, otherwise you won't get back in. Unless you intend to fish at night smoke is far more effective than flares at attracting attention. As you can tell I've spent a lifetime in boats.
@@davidoldboy5425 Yes, I'm getting thay picture ☺️. I always wear my lifejacket and the PLB is attached, so should be a good help if ever needed or go overboard. Got all the different flares and a boarding ladder permanently rigged on the boat. Safety at sea is something I'll never over-look and always appreciate advice!
@@SlippyLimpets Regarding the boarding ladder, if you can, put an upright stanchion on one side at the top to help with the pull upwards. It is incredibly difficult to climb back aboard, try it in harbour when with a friend, you'll see what I mean.
Enjoy Nathan be save mate
Thanks Davy and will do👍🎣
Nice one Nathan, cracking looking boat👍
Personally I don't bother tying a leader for lure fishing, I just have braid to a small power swivel then about 4ft of flouro to a clip.
So much easier just to tie another leader to the swivel after a break.
I used to do that too, until I started using lighter braid and longer leaders. Might go back to it for the boat sessions
Nice boat Nathan. Nice bass. Was boat fishing just off Whitburn . Caught plenty of mackerel. 19. And fog came in 7pm . Just when the fish were biting. But managed four 4lb cod. One five pound cod and 51/2 lb pollock. Using shrimp. Good luck with your new boat.
Sounds like you had a cracking session Leslie. Thanks and tight lines!
Nice boat mate and well done
Thanks mate!
Congratulations on the boat Nathan! you’ll be upgrading your car and moving west next! Might have to upgrade your once a week fishing rule soon though.. 🎣
no chance mate, I've got no money left for upgrades after buying the boat, plus my car's only got 125k on the clock so loads of life left in the old girl. Although she does moan a bit while puling the boat around. Tight lines👍🎣
Wowza lovin the boat. Bet John at Fish locker is Really worried. I get sea sick open water swimmin. haha Looking forward to your first Great White
Haha, Not sure I'll ever hit those dizzy heights but it's a nice thought. Tight lines
Upgrading to a boat 😂 looks like a nice boat mate am sure you will have fun in that and catch loads once you get used to it, tight lines 👍
Yep, slight upgrade from the yak! 🤣 TL👍🎣
Great to see you out on your boat
You will be giving John locker a run for his money soon
Great video keep them coming
Haha, I'm sure he's bricking it 🤣
I've been looking at boats recently but I'm not sure I want to commit while I am considering a second property. That said, I did buy a new Perception Triumph 13 kayak yesterday, like you do...
Good luck on your boat adventures 👍
The new kayak is a good intermediate. If I was you I'd buy the 2nd property and then look at boats, I've found out boats aree money pits! Tight lines Tarran👍🎣
instant level up.
Cheers Tommy!
Nice one Nathan 👍 best a luck mate with the new boat 🎣🎣 youll need to be changing the name to slippy boat deck 😂
haha, that's got a bit of a ring to it Arnie. I like it👍🎣
This is Rita Koolage...this is Kool and the gang.....this is Koolio! I could go on.....
I get the point 🤣Koolio is my favourite
Welcome to the boating club Is that a riever sportsman.
Thanks mate. It's a Piscator 5.80
Only watched the first few minutes so forgive me if I'm wrong, I've got to be at work ill watch it all later, you started off casting around, me personally I'd have used fish finder found some rough ground and jigged a metal or used bait over it, just to get a fish aboard and build confidence, best wishes with the new boat.
Hi Alan, yep, that's sound advice. Guess it's going to take me a wee while to stop thinking like a shore angler.
EH, think boat think kayak, you do OK of the yak, no difference mate, only that you can move about freely.
@@alanoliver5378 I get you! Cheers Alan
Don't forget to keep you're rock climbing and fishing up, a boat can make you lazy you know 😂
Nice shiner, been a good year for them, even I've had some on lures
Glad to hear it, it's been a pretty poor year for me. OK numbers but bigs, just yet
@@SlippyLimpets loads of juvenile fish down in the south east, hope that bodes well for future stocks
Love the new addition nath, nippy as well, just need to cruise down south now, where all the bloody fish are, it's hard going oop ere,on a personal note, hope your ok pal
seems that way Mick, I'll start saving for the fuel now and might manage that next summer 😂 Thanks for asking mate, I'm doing OK
@@SlippyLimpets 👍
pound for pound no fish have cost me more than the ones I've had from my boat 🤣 well done catching first time out.
Haha, I'm learning that already!
Amazing how your Channel has evolved!!…are you going to do any shore fishing using beachcasters again,or is it going to be purely boat/kayak fishing from now on?….I know you are sponsored by Century but are you still going to fish”old school” as you used to?…really enjoyed your old videos…all the best on your new adventures 😀😀😀😀xxxx
Thanks Angela! I still love shore fishing with bait and lures, so definitely not going to stop. Might be a short run of boat vids though, just while the weather is good and the it's still a novelty. xxx
Like the boat..liked how you lost your fav jig..just like me..for no reason...just so you know I have this thing about monster congers ...I just think they are so cool..stay safe..
Thanks CAG. I've never caught a conger but they are on the list now!
@@SlippyLimpets remember though..most of us want to see a monster..50k...ya gotta be ready...they there
It's even a different world again I think, switching from a kayak to a SiB - boat in your case though... Onwards and upwards though..! 👍😎
It is a huge change, a lot more comfortable for a start 🤣 Tight lines mate
@SlippyLimpets And to you too! Probably see you out there now as well.... 👍
Just back from Cornwall slippy. Beach casting for bass in the surf. Using fresh lug loads of schoolies one over 42 in 8 sessions. Do you think later in the year they get bigger or is it just the mark I'm fishing? Thinking of going back end of October. Fully aware that bass season is closed beginning of December 👍
Bass do tend to get heavier through the summer, as they feed up, and there's a notion that the longer fish turn up in the autumn so it could have just been the mark or the conditions. Saying that, finding bass is the hardest part so you've done well.
I was also having problems loosing lures using 6kg braid, it was looping around the rod eyes when casting. However after reducing the length of my leader so that when I am casting the leader is beyond the rod tip the problem has disappeared. Didn't have the same problem using 12kg braid.
I used to have a similar problem but found the FG net helped me out. I've used this braid/leader combo for a few years and not had a problem. I wonder if it was the motion of the boat?
well done on your boat, no ,ore sketchy climbing
Thanks Denis, but I'm not going to stop rock fishing. I enjoy it too much!
Nice wee boat, Nathe. What’s the setup - length/ draft, and outboard? 27 knots - I’d guess at a 40hp Tohatsu or merc. I’m envious - I’m still at the SIB and 9.9 Mercury stage.
Need more space in garage before I can trailer launch.
Nice bass to wet the babies head, as it were. Stay safe,
G
Aye, she's not bad. I should have maybe gone up gradually and got a sib/rib but this was too good an opportunity to pass up on. She's 5.8m long, 2.4m beam, 30cm draft with the 100hp merc trimmed all the way up.
Got grand plans to make her into the ultimate lure fishing platform.
Tight lines, G👍🎣
The boats will just get bigger and bigger from now on instead of the fish 😂
Now then lad, a new boat is it? I've had a few of those in the past. Found them to be deep holes in the ocean into which I threw money. Next thing you know you'll be dropping pots all over the place for crabs and lobsters. Goodonya Nate, I'd watch videos of you decorating the spare room. Get in.
I've found that out, they're always wanting for something! Careful what you wish for, I've just got a new house which needs decorating 😂 Tight lines John
@@SlippyLimpets I only said I'd watch
Is that Henry's living shrimp your using there Nathan 😂
of course
At last, none of that shore fishing hassle to get to marks. Sit in the boat, tap the throttle and arrive on the fish in 20 minutes while having a sandwich!
A piscator 580?
Got to admit the freedom is great and love fishing from the boat, but not quite as uch as fishing those hard to reach shore marks.
Yep, it is a Piscator, well recognised. The Hull copes really well with tight chop and the removable cuddy makes it a game changer for lure fishing. I've got some big plans for it next summer
Wahey, you got a boat! What is it? Are you going to keep her moored over there or will you tow her around?
No doubt you’ll make mistakes but as long as they’re not fatal, then they’re always valuable.
Maybe see you out there one day!
Cheers
She's a Piscator 5.80 and she's staying on the trailer so i can follow the good weather around . Also, Northumberland seem devoid of public slips!
Tight lines OB
Good idea. Yes sadly there aren’t that many in Northumberland. Only Amble, Craster, Seahouses and the infamous tractor at Beadnell off the top of my head. But as a result, there aren’t that many boats so quite a lot of untouched grounds, especially toward the north of the county. I think there’s a slip in Berwick which might be worth investigating too.
Good luck.
A boat Nathan??? You’re cheating like those Locker boys! 😊 Going to take some getting use to not watching you scale the north face of the Eiger to go fishing.
Haha, it's not as easy as it looks, JL makes it look very easy! And don't worry, I enjoy scaling the eiger too much not to carry on. Tight lines JW👍🎣
Now you have a boat you need to stop thinking like a shore angler. Trust me in that area it will save you months of effort 😉
Yeah, I think you're right about that and catching that fish on a 90g shad rather than my usual just proves your point!
Great video as always. What boat is that?
It's a Piscator 580 with a 100hp mercury outboard
Nice one. I'm getting the urge to get a boat for next summer. Mainly do South Shields pier and along the coast so i'm looking to get out further next year.@@SlippyLimpets
👏👏👏👏👍👍
🙌🙌🙌🙌👍🎣
Good show I thought you'd be getting sick of em small Pollack and mackerel but if they aim there they ain't catchable, good videos all the same just a shared you didn't hood some monster Pollack, you will I'm sure.
I just love going fishing for any fish big or small but hopefully the monsters will come a long at some point soon
Sorry my spelling was awful on that comment, yeah I totally agree catching fish is the goal and you have some beautiful coast line in your videos and I have to say I'm always greatful for where I live never more than a 5 minute drive from the coast, oh I posted isle of man wrasse if you have a look it's only a really short video was out lure fishing for hours without a bite and just stuck a limpet on the spinner dropped right infront and pulled a big one wrasse out.
Nice vid did the misses push u to thid
I wish! she dumped me, we sold our house so I bought a boat😄
Size 10 there paul, sorry to hear about your breakup Nathan, hope your doing ok bud
HI there! What boat are you using?
Hi John, it's a Piscator 580 with a 100hp mercury outboard
what hp on that mate
It's a Mercury 100hp EFI
I have to say I'm disappointed Nathan. I was expecting a boat launch a'la Pierce Brosnan in the opening to 'The World is Not Enough.' I'll be unsubscribing at this rate. Tight Lines, M.
I'm working up it Martin, I promise😄 Tight lines👍🎣
Welcome to the world of boating. BOAT Bring On Another Thousand £
Thanks Mike, I'll add that one to the rest of boat sayings i've learnt recently like There's only 2 good days of boat ownership, the day you buy her and the day you sell her😂
Straight in at the deep end Nathan, no introduction to the boat, or area you're fishing. Whole new ball game. Nice first fish aboard, a nice dark bass. Look forward to the videos and new ventures. Tight lines. Arthur.
