on pre assembled struts with coils already installed, how wld you mix the oil inside the shock? or is it needed?

You were lucky with that sway bar link. I always buy new ones, along with struts, i just cut them right off, dont bother trying to undo them. Difficult to get them off without destroying them as a diyer with limited tools

You’re replacing everything but the spring. Why not get an assembly? They are almost the same price as the single shock.

Hmmm….didn’t realize you could do it without undoing the knuckle. I swapped a junkyard strut tower onto my Vibe, yeah a gamble I know but was a good learning experience. It ended up not really being any better so I just put my old one back on and returned them. Anyhow, I went through all the work of taking off the knuckle…or at least letting it hanng there on the ball joint (axle out of course so I don’t think there was any chance of pulling the cv apart. I’d previously replaced the knuckles with loaded knuckle assemblies).
