I absolutely love the person that you’re becoming Michel! 😊 I’ll continue to pray and support you from afar. I know it’s not an easy season, but I hope that you press into it and trust that people who truly love and accept you will encourage you to be yourself and find healing. From my own journey of working through trauma and toxic relationships with others, I can attest the work, boundary setting, unlearning things, and prioritizing yourself is worth it. I’m so encouraged and glad that God brought Jordy into your life. He’s trauma informed and emotionally intelligent, which is exactly what you need. I want the same thing and refuse to settle for anything less. You’re also the type of person that I want to be friends with. If you’re ever in Colorado, let me know. You’re kind, authentic, and love people well. I know there’s a day coming when you will begin to see yourself the way those believe in you. Until then, keep those people close to be a mirror to reflect truth to you. ❤

I very rarely comment on any UA-cam, but I felt compelled to share this encouragement with you. One thing I have learned in my 41 years is that I’m not for everyone (which is really hard because I want to be!) and there will be people who will not like me or will say hurtful things about me and while I don’t like it and I wish it wasn’t true, it is also mostly not my business. I don’t need to know that someone thinks I’m annoying or they don’t like the way I did something, unless we have the kind of relationship where that is valued, it’s not information that is helpful for me. Finally, having a soft heart and being sensitive to criticism doesn’t make you weak, you can be both of those things and not weighed down by negativity. I think part of becoming resilient is staying soft in the face of harshness and seeing sensitivity as a tool not a hindrance. ❤

One of the 240,000 lovers here! From Melbourne, Australia. What I love about your videos is that I am someone who also seeks connection through sharing and giving to others and it’s validating and comforting to me to witness you doing it and doing it so dang well. I just started a new job working with ND kids in a primary school and I’m unwinding by watching your content and it makes my day better each time. Loved this podcast format as it feels calm and slow amidst the chaos of daily existence and I’d love to see more. ❤

Love how Jordy is rephrasing what you’re saying, to basically what the reality is. You’re not face to face with everyone of us, you’re more of like a recorded lesson. And people just decide what to take and learn from you and what not to. But they cannot physically hurt you & you shouldn’t let it. You’re sharing your life in hopes someone can relate or perhaps it may help someone, but that shouldn’t affect how you feel and how you live your life. So I love how he tries to make you see the difference 👌🏼

As a mother that has dealt with trauma, it’s so important to get through all this as much as possible before getting pregnant. This trauma WILL return when kids enter your life and you’ll be amazed how everything you learned has crumbled. Being prepared is SOO important. your support team is everything. ❤
Don’t get me wrong though. Having kids has given me purpose to life and I look at life COMPLETELY different. Life with kids is by far my favorite life.

Since those people can't really hurt her, I think reframing it in a kind and understanding way (maybe punching bag is not quite the right term, but she explained what she meant) is helping HER mental health and keeping her feelings for those people from being anger and hurt, which is self-destructive.

I've been following you for a really long time (think your studio apartment in CA, hi friendssss, the origin of sip and thrift, pre-Janse the Label, etc) and have felt like I'm walking alongside a friend at times. I also have to remind myself that there is a strange para-social nature to social media and that you're willingly opening your door to us - and we're not owed information, context, etc. All that to say, I'm really proud of you. However unfiltered you decide to be and show up as on the internet, know that you're appreciated. You've brought great comfort to me in so many ways, and beyond that, it's undeniably evident how you've grown as a woman and human and creative and it's truly a joy to witness. Wishing you all the best

You have been such a light in my life for the last like 7 years. Through all the highs and lows your channel has felt like a safe space with a friend. It is insane that someone can find joy in tearing you down when you’re such a light. It says a lot about them than it does you. You’ve opened the door for me to be curious about my faith. I didn’t know there was such a thing as a progressive Christian. I’d love to learn more from you guys about it and your experiences because I’ve only had negative traditional, hateful ones. Lowkey religious trauma haha. Also! I discovered Jordy’s music around covid era and I was so excited to learn that you guys became a couple (now married). Haha it felt like a Disney channel crossover episode. You guys seem so made for each other and hearing your conversations and the way you speak to each other has been so refreshing. We share beliefs and that is part of it but also you inspire me in what you share of food, self-care, products, gift ideas, travel, fashion and party planning. I am in your mom’s age bracket but you have time to explore what is happening in these areas that I do not. I am a stressed out social worker that needs a break when I watch. This video series has been very good! My big takeaways are 1. You and Alyse should have a podcast together. You two vibe so well, and a "girl talk" thing would be fun 2. Jordy should do his own solo podcast (and you can pop on from time to time!) I think Jordy is an AMAZING interviewer, and I can see why you are so proud of him. He is so insightful!

I also wanted to say that….while it’s really kind of you to have compassion and empathy for haters….many, many people are in extreme amounts of mental/emotional pain and don’t take it out on a kind-hearted creator 🤷🏻‍♀️ There’s no need to spread that sort of pain, especially not to those who go out of their way to spread happiness and connection.

I am a quiet watcher of you Michel for many years. I'd have coffee with you! I never heard of this Reedit place where people are in this "snark culture" How sad. I will not join it as I do not have time to be in a place where people use so much of their emotional energy to "snark" You are incredible Michel. You make a huge difference in this world. You are an independent thinker, kind and I loved learning more about you

    Thank you,

My parents want to offer you and your husband a free 3 night stay at their beach house in Cocoa Beach, Florida. They are needing some pictures taken of their house and some social media exposure! Their property is listed on VRBO as The Mulvaine Beach House if you want to look it up! As you can see from the listing, there is a walkway right from their backyard to the beach. It is perfect for surfing there 😊 Let me know if you are interested in discussing further!

I think it would be fun if instead of doing podcast style videos maybe doing a LIVE every now and then while you're making dinner or something?? it would be a more relaxed unedited way of connecting with your followers??

I resonate with the people who say that they watch your videos because they need a companion. I do have friends and I am married and have wonderful children that I spend a lot of time with. That said, I have chronic illness and I'm not able to work so I am alone a lot of the day. I watch your videos in order to keep myself company. So I do feel like you are one of my friends and your videos mean a lot. I like how open-minded and loving you are and I like seeing your journey.

This was incredible. Jordy did a great job regrounding you.
On the topic of talking to your haters, Lucy Fink did that once. I believe she did a podcast on it- highly recommend. It was an incredible story and she found much of what you’d expect- people are SO different one on one. And just like you said, usually experiencing hurt.

I feel like I resonate with you so much, because I feel like we are super similar. Many of the things you talk about I realize I do, or agree with you. But one thing you remember is, YES this space feels like you’re opening the door to your own home, & perhaps that’s what makes it feel more genuine BUT it is not your real life. I say this in the sense that these people (us viewers) don’t define you, shouldn’t define how you feel, therefore you shouldn’t give them that much power to hurt you and affect the way you feel. You GET to pick what things you take and what not to. Good and bad. It’s important to have that line very strongly drawn so you have a healthier perspective with the work you love to do 🫶🏼🫶🏼❤️

First of all, I'm so thankful I started following you years ago and got to grow up and heal with you in a lot of ways. You really do feel like a friend to me and I truly don't feel that way about most youtubers.
Secondly, a mental practice I learned years ago to help weed out unsolicited advice, criticism, hate, etc is called "The Table of My Life" and you basically close your eyes and visualize who has a seat at the table of your life. The people who are allowed to pull up a seat at your table are people who are allowed to speak into you... They are trusted people that you know have your very best interest at heart, people who genuinely desire health and wholeness for you. Jordy, your parents, your sister, etc...
Then, when someone who doesn't sit at your table tries to speak into your life, you now have a visual that you can quickly go to... "wait, you don't sit at my table... your words don't get to speak into me, who I am, what I think."
With practice, this can literally give you so much clarity and power over the criticism and hate. They don't sit at the table of your life, so their words don't get to speak into you.
Bless you, Michel! Thank you so much for being such a vulnerable, safe person. You are goodness personified!

I wish you had done this series sober. Being tipsy and answering questions tipsy is not "authentic honest truth serum". Like EVERYONE, its tipsy talk. In other words, performance for your audience where it is not as uncomfortable for you to say/share. At the end of the day, I feel it would have been more honest & helpful for your audience if you were sober. That is assuming the reason for this series was for your "community" to get to know the real you and to be authentic with your audience and yourself.

    • @thehealingfairee

I think it was fun seeing Michel in a different state than her usually prim and proper persona. Not because I think alcohol is a "truth serum". She's clearly still reserving certain thoughts for herself, and that's okay.

I think it was a beautiful conversation . I understand your heart more. I am thankful you have genuine support and love in your life now. I think you and your husband should do a once a month podcast check in. I think y’all are a great team. I think you should make your channel more of a podcast because you have already backed away from sharing a lot of your life where we only see the last few minutes of the party. I am just so happy you are in a healthy and loving marriage and have a strong friend group. You should just keep being you unapologetically because you made me see the beauty of the relationships you make with others. So do you and we are here to watch. We do want to know about Christmas and new years..
