DO NOT TRY AT HOME! I'm cleaning up the exploding mess as we speak. I should've been weary when she put salt in the water, salt slows down the boiling process and it only somewhat increases the water temperature to a negligible degree, I'm not sure where she gets the egg white bit from flowing off of cracks that she mentions on another comment. The salt for boiling is a common misconception, so I figured I'd give her the benefit of the doubt, but I should've known better, without a means for the pressure to be released, the eggs will explode, I knew that, and I still gave it a try, that's on me.
First of all, I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused to cleaning. I've heard that in common stovetop recipes, salt is used to coagulate the egg whites. It is my guess, not scientific reasoning, that microwave ovens will be similar. Sorry for the confusion. I've been using it for over 3 years since I discovered this recipe. I have a 25 year (600 watt), 6 year old microwave (700 watt). Both types are in the works and have never exploded. I always cook 6 eggs. I uploaded a video because I thought it was a good recipe in my experience. There may be variables not mentioned in the video. 1. Did you use room temperature eggs? 2. Did you use a low power microwave (less than 600 watts)? 3. Did the egg have microscopic cracks? 4. If you put it in cold water immediately after cooking, it may explode. (Leave for a few minutes after cooking, then remove from microwave.) In addition to this, undesirable results may occur due to variables that I did not think of. It's a recipe I learned through Google, and not all recipes can be put into practice through scientific thinking, but microwave egg recipes can be more dangerous than you think. Please read this pinned comment and hope viewers use it safely.
I thought a bit about it and I agree with you about salt being negligible in increasing water temperature as long as we're talking about the colligative property known as boiling-point elevation. But in a microwave oven we should also take into account the interaction between charged particles and electric field: salt ions should absorb microwave energy more efficiently, and they should release it to the surrounding water as heat. It should be easy to demonstrate this: two identical bowls with identical amount of water, with and without salt, heated at same wattage and time, then measure temperature. In principle, this mechanism should also prevent the microwave heating the egg directly from the inside, thus avoiding the pressure that makes the egg explode. Is this countermeasure enough? I don't know and I'm not gonna try it until I figure it out, too many comments reporting explosions and oven cleaning (and I'm too lazy for that). BTW, in another video I saw a guy making a pinhole on the egg shell that could prevent pressure building up. I also have the feeling that the water level could play a role in it.
I did this once and set them in a bowl on the kitchen table, (about 10 eggs) I turned my back to pick up my beer, looked at my friend theat was starring at the bowl because the eggs had started "vibrating". Then "pow, pow, pow) they all started exploding like poultry hand grenades!. LOL. My girlfriend woke up, ran to the kitchen and the eggs were even on the cieling. Fun.@@cpav9062
I found a way to do this successfully. After boiling water only for about 5 mins, I drop the eggs in the hot water and leave it for about 1-2 mins. Then I heat it up for 2 mins. Leave it alone for 2 mins and the eggs come out fine
I would definitely not try this at home until you figure out how powerful your microwave is, everything seemed fine until the last second. I opened up the microwave and exploded. Luckily nobody got hurt. Cleaning up egg right now
What If I put them into a plastic breakfast container? I already cooked potatoes in it. I would just close the lid and open the small vent that it has. Wonder If that would work
Personally, do not try even with low heat / watt microwave and just boil the eggs over a stove. It's best to be safe than to attempt, since microwaved eggs with shells even on water explodes.
@@aanchal2927 I used to do this as a kid without salt and it still worked. I don't* remember how strong the microwave was but I think it was a regular powered one.
Sorry but I can't see the point? By the time you boil the water and pfaff about with the bowl and cling film, it would take just as long, or longer, than just boiling?
You are doing GREAT my friend. Keep going and you shall see great SUCCESS. Just remember to NEVER DOUBT yourself, we are all capable of AMAZING things..... 😉😎👍👏
Not everyone has access to a stove top. Some people only have a kettle and microwave. It's also good for people who travel and only have a motel/hotel room.
It would be nice to apply your recipe to the purpose of boiled eggs. Thank you for sharing the great recipe! Hello! Greetings from 100tour KOREA with my full support! See you, my new friend!
If I'm supposed to boil water first (and I need to filter this before or I'll constantly have limestone in my kettle) a d I need plastic wrap for this, which always plays tricks at me, I'll stick to traditional boiling.

maybe she's using a 1000W microwave adn you're using a 2000W microwave?

What wattage setting on the microwave did you use?

I tried ur method and it works
** Be sure to read the precautions.
** Do not use high-power microwave ovens.
** Children should not be allowed to use this recipe.
Wonderful presentation. Thanks for showing us how to make boiled eggs in the microwave. They look so delicious. Have a nice week my friend.

Thank you soooo much for this recipe! I was skeptical but I just tried it.....freaking amazing 👏 😍
More of a method than a recipe
i wonder what's keeping the eggs from exploding.
the salt
@@aanchal2927 How?
@@amjadhani8929 just something I've learnt. It works. Not sure why

Some people only have a microwave. Not everyone has access to a stove top
i do not have a boiler, only microwave.

Looks perfect . Great sharing. Have a nice day.
This is a nice trick🌟🌟
Thanks for sharing chef👌👌
The disclaimer failed to mention, punching a few holes in the shell to prevent an explosion
Outstanding!
They are all my favorites😋😋😋😂 Great video Joon!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🙏🏻💙
My favorite friend, Tildi~ Thank you for coming. ^^
my eggs exploded this does not work
I don't understand. If you're gonna be using a microwave for convenience but still have to use boiling water from actual fire what's the point?
I boil water with an electric kettle. If you don't have an electric kettle, you can boil it in the microwave.

Why need salt
It's just my guess.
I think salt raises the temperature of the water and helps prevent the egg whites from flowing out when the egg cracks.
Thank you so much for your recipe so much tasty
Really nice 😊
Very nice, thanks!
Thanks.❤
it worked thank you
Awesome thank you for sharing
Join, it worked great for me! Thank you!
The time that it takes you to clean up the mess is longer than it would of taken to just boil them in a pot🫤
5 minutes perfect
Don't try. It's danger.
Well it exploded and burn my leg and my forehead the pain is actaully terrible 🎉
I tried it and myth confirmed
