I bought the American Professional Deluxe Telecaster and let me tell you ... I've been playing guitar for 50 years ... and that guitar is "the one". The one guitar that takes you a lifetime to find. The one guitar that inspires you every single time you pick it up and play. What makes it so special? The build quality, the playability, and the pickups. And this guitar can do it all with is wide range pickups and coil split capability. It's just so fun to play whether you're playing Metalica or Merle Haggard.
It’s such an amazing guitar, and it’s sad because a lot of people would likely pass on it simply because they don’t like the HH look. It’s easily the go-to guitar I’d recommend for anyone who is looking for something that does it all, and does everything well. It’s certainly not an affordable guitar tho, but worth every penny
The best part of the whole video is that Jack is actually playing the kind of music that the target market player would play. He's also matching tones and pickup configurations to the type of genre almost perfectly. One of the best demos I've ever seen on YT! Now all you have to do is open a guitar shop in my town so I can drop in and play these.
I'm no Fender fanboy and I have my complaints about them, but they really have nailed it with the Professional II line. A great mix of traditional and modern. My old Professional was my #1 before I had to sell it, and after playing the Pro II I'm hoping I can find my way back to the line. I still think the Ultra is one of the nicest playing guitars ever, though obviously different, but I just can't get beyond the noiseless pups which I just can't fall in love with. Great video!
Yup, that’s me too. Love the black pick guard and controls on the DK. The Mrs likes Miami blue, so perhaps I won’t have much choice...😳 Definitely need to see in store.
Dark knight I think looks better with bright light shining on it - when playing in normal lighting just looks black to me. But it’s still a cool colour
The American Pro ii series is a fantastic lineup. With the tele, they did pretty much everything I'd do if I were to build one from scratch: brass saddle top load bridge with sides trimmed down, treble bleed, and series/parallel wiring. I like the contoured heel too and the fact I can get it in black. I'm not crazy about the new pickups, and I wish they were more affordable but hey--you can't always get whatcha want.
I bought one, Strat, White with Maple Neck tortoise pick guard. Love it. I have had Players, and Squire and a PRS. This is the real deal, it has “that” sound. Playing through a 77 Fender Vibro Champ that I bought 45 years ago.
I have had my HSS Strat for a few months now and absolutely love it. The only thing I did was throw some locking tuners on it. I think Fender did a great job with these and I hardly touch any of my other strats now.
The upgrades, tweaks make these well above the price of admission. The setup, playability is on par with custom shop. I own an Am Pro Jazz 1, dropped in Lollar's and it's right up there with my CS's. The 72', HSS, or Jazzmaster seem to be the stars of the line.
I appreciate that he didn't whip out a dime a dozen boring blues riffs, as per usual with most strat demos. Thank you for demo'ing some other styles to give some imagination to what the instruments could sound like for anyone besides an SRV try hard.
These all sound fantastic. I thought the original American Professional range was really exciting and this new update has kicked things into a whole new gear. Now the problem is deciding which one to get!
Ive been playing for over 30 years and have owned quite a few Fender guitars, but since early in my playing days I have used G&Ls as my main Strat style guitars as i feel they are much better than what Fender offers. But I got a Pro II Strat in the same blue with rosewood fb. This is hands down the best Fender i have touched/played/owned. These are not your average strat and thats a huge plus imho. Finally a Fender that can stand up to my G&Ls. Never thought id see the day. Ive owned $500-$5000 Fender guitars mind you. Def check one of these guitars out ! :-)
The man has feel, lovely melodic flow, tonnes of players can shred and fret w**k but no soul and grate unless you're into sort of thing. Jack is a sweet player, better than most of the YT guitarists imho who have millions of subscribers! The dark night is cool, can just see batman play some killer licks on top of a Gotham building at night!
I just got an American pro ii Stratocaster, and all I can say is that it's worth every penny. It is honestly the most versatile guitar Ive ever played. If you're looking for a new guitar that does it all, get the American pro ii strat.
I ended up getting the Dark Night HSS rosewood neck Strat on release day from my local small business shop. I really love that color as well as the HSS configuration. This Strat sounds amazing through both my Hot Rod Deluxe IV 40-watt and Vox AC15 blue alnico 15-watt amps. It really is an amazing guitar at this price point. I love that they kept the same neck as my original Am Pro Strat. I call this neck "dangerous" as it's such perfect and comfortable fit for me that Ive been known to play for hours and get lost in the music. On some days I'll start around midnight and watch the sun rise. It's a very comfortable fitting neck for my hands. Great job Fender!
I got the am pro 2 strat in white with rosewood board ....a more refined feeling strat than the am pro and the pick ups are more articulate sounding to my ear. One of the best production strats I have ever played.
Sold me on the Tele Deluxe soon as I heard Tumbling Dice! Found the same Mystic Surf Green 2020 model (used) on Reverb at a great price. And Brown Sugar at the end of the demo into Ventilator Blues, just smoked in my humble opinion!
i bought the roasted pine one a month ago, took out the VMOD2 pickups and put in my 52 Vintage Blackguard pickups from another tele and its sounds and plays so awesome. I own three other Pro Series 1 tele's and still love those as well. Very comfortable and easy to play.
Holy crap!! Definitely can tell you've got a soft spot for that deluxe. Your playing on all them is superb as usual. I never finish your videos thinking that I still have unanswered questions so very well done. Now, where did that come from that you played on that deluxe? It's so fat, raw, ballsy, grooving, bluesy, and more I don't have words for. Damn it sounds good on that thing!! Going to go check out one tomorrow. Just blown away!
Sorry John boy but what ever you’re paying Jack you probably ought to double it 😉. He’s the man for the job for sure. He can play anything so well ! Fridges to eskimos springs to mind. Great range of guitars too. I’m not sure about the black knight either. Top video though. 👍
I personally hate the look of the dark knight finish, however that’s all down to personal taste. I’d never own one but wouldn’t dig on anyone that likes it. I’d pick the white with tortoise guard.
I'm the same (also own a white Strat with a [tokyo] tortoise pickguard) but I gotta say that dark night finish is slowly growing on me. Maybe if the pickguard was 1 ply black instead I'd buy into the look a bit more
I’m hoping to get the Strat soon. Just need to decide on HSS or SSS and colour. I was leaning to the Olympic White with rosewood board but the Dark night finish looks cool too. Need to get to a store and see/hear them in person. Great playing. Thanks for the demo.
Did you ever decide? The traditional SSS is appealing but if you play lead or routinely solo - that H in the HSS is gonna get a lot of play time. As the sole guitar player in my band, I know I need the H but my brain wants to stay old school. Color for me is either black & maple - or green & rosewood.
@@sboy1955 Hi. Yes, I went SSS in Dark Knight with rosewood board. It’s a great guitar and I’m so pleased with it. The push push pot to get bridge an neck is so useful. Takes the harshness of the bridge on its own but still cuts through. The rolled edges on the board make it feel so comfortable too. I have a black Strat with maple board. Great choice . Mines 30+ years old now and I still love it. There’s no tone control for the bridge pickup but it has Texas Specials in it.
God, I had almost gotten over my Batman Strat fever, and then I stumble across this! That is a damn beautiful guitar. Would look lovely next to my Skyburst Metallic! Oh, it sounds great, too!
i was at thomann last week while driving across germany and played the vintera 2 tele deluxe through some kemper thingy and was blown away by the tones. i only have a mediocre player series strat and a tiny shitbox of an amp at home, so i never really got proper sonic feedback of my playing. quickly compared it to a bunch of other guitars but they didn't perform the way the vintera did! i love a tele, and i want a guitar that can basically do it all (i wanna stick to 1 electric and 1 western for the foreseeable future). i don't really like the tall bridges of LP style guitars so i felt right at home with the tele. very basic, very simple. but still versatile. looking to try out an american professional 2 tele deluxe now, i love mystic surf green but the dark night one looks amazing as well, the brass saddles work so well with the blue finish. paired with a proper amp i could finally be happy and at peace, after some 15 years of playing (electric) guitar and never really enjoying it as much as i wanted...
Man where does Jack get all these riffs from? There are just so many potential songs coming out every time he plays. Craziest part is it’s probably all improvised. Great video guys!
He's a great player, but a a lot of the riffs are just slight variations from famous classic songs. First riff is basically "Tumbling Dice" off of Exile on Main St. from the Stones...
That tele snap and sound 🤤🤤🤤 And also, mystic surf green on the tele(non-deluxe) is the most beautiful I’ve seen. Great colour on the deluxe too, but the white knobs just look awkward 🥴
@ 7:52 The rhythm circuit is back ... but different. On the original JM it engaged the neck pickup only with a different capacitor that removed more of the high end. Not sure of the cap here , but the rhythm circuit now uses BOTH pickups, but in series.
You are a killer guitar player man! I think any instrument will sound good in your hands! BTW - if you can share wha kind of amp you use in your demos would be good too!
Definitely the best sounding for the affordability. The Tele’s are under 2K; that’s a bargain! I’m in the camp “that the Dark Night Strat looks lovely,” regardless (of the irony) that I’m a “Joker” fanatic. Ha Ha Ha!!!
I really need to know all the chords being played during the Pro II Strat demo (Including the plucking chords, but not including, the solo) starting around 15:56. Please someone help me.
Now a year later...as a strat owner, I'm going for an 🇺🇲 professional 2 telecaster,. Looking for something different and this telecaster is it ( besides my strat needs a friend) ❗️ As for a hard case any 🎸 that is $1000 or more should come with it and below $1000 a gig bag ❗️ Tires come with automobiles.....then a case or bag is a must with all 🎸❗️
Wow, those seem that they retain a heavy dose of “fender flavor” even though they aren’t “vintage spec”. I love gear as much as the next guy, and chasing the perfect strat or tele, but this could well be a buy-play-forget kind of guitar. Love it, actually.
Jack’s ability to produce actual music from a guitar, not just “noodling”, amazes me. Best demo player on UA-cam. Also night and day between this and the ESP E-II video how much the chug genre is a waste of his talents even though those are excellent guitars.
I agree that the professional ii strat is a really good strat and is my favorite owned strat- love the neck and the tones. And the 50's American Original is also great! Those 2 strats really cover it for me in terms of the new and vintage spectrum. Not crazy about the new colors really, but I get putting some newness out there. The whole Batman vibe on a guitar strikes me as a Pawn shop novelty thing- but it's popularity shows that I underestimated it. I like some funky colors- but that might suit me if I was to have a larger collection. I like more traditional looks with improved play ability features. The deep C neck got my attention on the ii. My only gripe with vintage strats is the truss rod. I hope the next line Fender puts out with a vintage approach of decade periods includes vintage features and tones, but with a modern truss rod as one of the modern appointments. I swapped out the neck on my 50's for a fender roasted maple with the Indian Laurel fret board. That and the brown burst color scheme wise go together very well! A soft V with a modern truss rod would be great- but they are quite expensive. Some day I will order a soft V from Warmoth when I have the doe and the patience to fill out that extensive form! P &L to all.
That metallic seafoam color is crazy pretty. Maybe a little too pretty. But the black to blue is super different. Maybe a little too different. Two compliments turned to critiques ^^
The neck is the best improvement, the new satin finish and rolled edges make it feel lived in. It is really comfortable. The bursts in this range feel like they are trying too hard to make bursts cool. I went with the mystic surf green and rosewood board strat, I can't put it down.
I was impressed until I got mine home. I just sent my American pro ll Telecaster back. My 400 dollar Squier plays and sounds just as good if not better in some ways. The pro ll had high action and when it was brought down ever so slightly got a lot of buzzing. The only thing going for it was the look and that is not worth 1500 bucks to me.
Try using a less awesome player and less awesome amp so we can hear them in a real life setting. I think he could make an affinity squire sound amazing.
I think the amps are pretty close in range to an American professional. They’re both expensive to me, but similar in their respective companies’ price ranges. Don’t you think?
He plays pretty “normal” stuff here, not sure what you mean. Lots of basic chords, strumming, and arpeggios. I’m not a great player and can probably play 95% of what he played here.
I bought the American Professional Deluxe Telecaster and let me tell you ... I've been playing guitar for 50 years ... and that guitar is "the one". The one guitar that takes you a lifetime to find. Dark Knight is different, yet tastefully done. I love it. I bet Leo would too!
I've had my Dark Night American Pro II Strat for six months now. It's a fantastic axe.

When the product line was first released I was liking the Miami Blue, now I think the Dark Night has grown on me.
The surf green has grown on me, so Imagine this a mystic surf green strat with a rosewood board and a white perloid pick guard
@@ColtonAnderson1258 A pearloid guard would look nice with that color.

The neck is the best improvement, the new satin finish and rolled edges make it feel lived in. It is really comfortable. The bursts in this range feel like they are trying too hard to make bursts cool. I went with the mystic surf green and rosewood board strat, I can't put it down.
Go FenderWow👍the Tele"s are Magical✅️Nice driving on Jack's part as well🖖😎🤳🔈
es muy inspirador oirte tocar... con la guitarra que sea, saludos desde Colombia
Merry Christmas!
Fender's American Pro II guitars are impressive. They'll probably even steal some sales from their Custom Shop.
Just ordered the deluxe in Miami blue. Dang what a color
Try using a less awesome player and less awesome amp so we can hear them in a real life setting. I think he could make an affinity squire sound amazing.
At least amps that us sad humans can afford ...
I think the amps are pretty close in range to an American professional. They’re both expensive to me, but similar in their respective companies’ price ranges. Don’t you think?
Compared to other companies, finding a used Dr Z is pretty decent price wise. And they great. Other brands are more expensive !!
He'd get a tune out of a tennis racket
He plays pretty “normal” stuff here, not sure what you mean. Lots of basic chords, strumming, and arpeggios. I’m not a great player and can probably play 95% of what he played here.
What about the excesive wheight of the pro ll? Comments?
I clicked on this for the Tele Deluxe but man the Roasted pine Tele just sounded great
I agree these Am pro 2 telecasters sound amazing. I have the Deluxe but man those sound really great
I dig the dark night finish!
Strat sounds great! Which overdrive pedal was used on this one?
Such a great player. Well done.
Spectacular tone.
Damn that was some nice picking!
I need to hear this dude playing with other people
