We used to get weed from that area growing up there in the 90s lol The only thing that separated my neighborhood and Fordhaven was the L’ville southwest YMCA
moved out of German Paristown in 2019. the housing market was in a position to allow me to sell my home, and buy a home without a mortgage in southwestern Virginia. I am so glad I got out of Louisville. I miss it but i know it is not the town I once knew.
When I moved to Louisville in 1963 on 3rd Street I walked all the way to Shawnee Park. Not one single incident! Now I won't even drive past 3rd Street!
Your segment on "Southside" (along with your video early on of Arling Ave) is right near where my sister-in-law moved a couple of years ago so she could sell her nice home in Clifton and have a place mortgage-free and retire. So far, she's been ok, but she NEVER goes out at night. Lots of police sirens, too. Interesting video. Some incorrect info (Breonna Taylor shooting location), but mostly "spot on".
I grew up in 5 houses that were within 2 blocks of Saint John's cemetery, if you know where that is on 26th St and Duncan. Got a great public school education from the early 60s to the mid 70s from teachers that wanted to lift me and my fellow students out of the relative poverty that existed, even then, had a lot of fun growing up down there, making our own entertainment, as you had to do in that scenario. I wouldn't walk around down there on a bet, today. I do "street level" Google Map and Google Earth "strolls" around my old haunting grounds and it breaks my heart to see the ruin. I thought it was bad that we had at least one bar on every corner, sometimes two, but to see that even those bars are empty lots or collapsed buildings is just unreal.
They've moved a lot of people from the former hoods out to Valley Station. I grew up in V.S., & it nothing like it is now. There were farms, all kinds of wooded areas, and was so different than it is now. My best friend still lives there and the crime is off the hook
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS you are NOT going to find homeless people anywhere near Propect, Anchorage, Indian Hills, Mockingbird Valley, Riverwood, Bellewood, Lyndon, Glenview, ect..
@@JUSAGUYNKY I've seen my fair share of pan handlers near Indian Hills (by the Meijers) & by the Summit. Yeah, I get that they probably only come in the nicer neighborhoods to beg & leave when they finish but still.

Shepherd Square, not Clarksdale is exactly where "SmokeTown" & the famous "Ali Boxing Gloves" statue are actually located @ in the East End of the City.
I’ve been in the south side my whole life and never once been robbed. Crime in the south isn’t random for the most part. Random people aren’t getting robbed or car jacked by other random people. It’s people shooting each other over money or drugs or whatever.

I lived on the same block as Muhammad Ali's childhood home and the surrounding area of the west end until 1993 then my family moved to the south end for one year and then in the northeast part of the county and you are right the crime has been worse since then.
Whats crazy is 10 years ago it wasnt really like this. Especially newburg, theres more gangs here now and my friend actually had someone start shooting at his car while he was on the watterson for no particular reason.
This list is all f&@k up! If you are using this as a point of reference for research and or the history of Louisville please don’t. All of the areas he speaks of are bad but his information is inaccurate.
To people saying these areas are not bad: the numbers speak differently. If you tolerate this way of life you have low standards of living. Also the idea about "don't start nothing won't be nothing" is selfish af because you're OK with tolerating your fellow humans living shitty lives. But as long as you gets money everything is good right? This is why people can't take the hood seriously or get behind this ghetto mindset. Expect more from yourself than living in a dump
This makes me so sad, I lived in Old Louisville in the 70’s. I lived on Belgravia Court. Happiest days of my life. I was a waitress at Masterson’s Food and Drink, was on South 3rd not far from University, I met him Muhammad Ali when I worked there when he came in it was 1977, he was so nice to all of us, we got his autograph How is Old Louisville now? I always wanted to come back to visit. It sounds so run down now, makes me just sad.
Lifelong Louisvillian. I like your video, but most of this violence is more recent. Grew up in the South End In the 80s and 90s, a few blocks from Americana Apartments. Worked 3rd shift at the Super America down the street. There was some trouble back then (robberies, hand to hand violence) but there were very few murders. In the 80s and 90s me and my friends roamed the whole area freely. From Southside Drive to New Cut all the way to Hazelwood and Berry/7th Street with no issues. When I was in high school I had friends that deep in Portland, and I could take the bus down there with no problems. The murder rate has gone sky high just in the last few years. And it's all over the city. There's no "safe' part of town now. But I live in Germantown, which people think is dangerous now. And I've never had trouble. I never had trouble in south end (where my parents still live), in Berry, on 8th Street. The desperation of the COVID pandemic caused the rise in crime.
Jtown here.... we're still nuts & rough, in case anyone actually didn't know. In fact, it just snowed and everyone is out here driving into everyone else without caring at all. This cop is just walking car to car getting insurance info. Anyway...Our cars get broke into, my old apt got broken into and my panties stolen (but they left 2 bucks for using my toilet which was thoughtful I guess), bad domestic violence, but no one complains really. At least we know each other and our own craziness.
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS lol yep. It is rougher than when we were growing up by far. And teenagers DO break into our cars and weirdos do break into apartments. I called the police and they were just like "yeah, that's common" -_- SOMEONE STOLE MY UNDERWEAR, SIR. weirdos are everywhere, beware.....

While true Louisville has it's rough, dangerous and seedy area's this is true of all cities across America especially in 2022 crime and evil darkness is all across the US even in the subberbs all the way down to small rural country towns truth be told. You can go to any city or town and find all the bad seedy parts of it edit it, narrate and piece it together and make it look horrible and threatening to anyone who doesn't know the difference. Yes even the city or town you live in too wherever you may be can be painted that way. No one is exempt from crime and mayhem in this dangerous day and age and if one thinks so they are completely delusional and without discernment. Monsters and demons are everywhere now even in some of you all's very own neighborhoods and homes that you live in may be a boogeyman. No matter how posh and beautiful your surroundings may be there will be danger and evil that surrounds you rather you choose to see it or not.
Louisville, Kentucky has its fair share of struggling neighborhoods. Here's a look at some of the factors that contribute to urban blight and some possible solutions for revitalization: Factors Contributing to Urban Blight * Poverty and lack of economic opportunity * High crime rates * Abandoned buildings and vacant lots * Deteriorating infrastructure Revitalization Strategies * Community Development Initiatives: Partner with residents to improve their neighborhoods through job training, mentorship programs, and beautification projects. * Economic Development: Attract businesses and create jobs by offering tax breaks and other incentives. * Improved Housing: Provide affordable housing options and invest in improving existing housing stock. * Public Safety: Increase police presence and implement crime prevention programs. Is Doss high School in a ghetto area?
I think you mean Breonna
@@TRex595no sir
moved out of German Paristown in 2019. the housing market was in a position to allow me to sell my home, and buy a home without a mortgage in southwestern Virginia. I am so glad I got out of Louisville. I miss it but i know it is not the town I once knew.
When I moved to Louisville in 1963 on 3rd Street I walked all the way to Shawnee Park. Not one single incident! Now I won't even drive past 3rd Street!
Lived there in the mid 70s and even then many of these places were dangerous back then. Will you be doing Lakeland-Winter haven, Florida?
We have done videos in lakeland in the last few months and winter haven too see those
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS Yeah I'm watching them now, Thanks! I love Winter Haven!
Valley station s the new west end
I lived all over louisville ky , I went to school there , when you are a kid and you live in a bad place , you don't realize it ,
you are so right
Louisville is a a mess. According to friends who live there, there are few safe neighbourhoods left in 2022.
Your talking $500,000 and up and you still got homeless people a block away
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS you are NOT going to find homeless people anywhere near Propect, Anchorage, Indian Hills, Mockingbird Valley, Riverwood, Bellewood, Lyndon, Glenview, ect..
@@JUSAGUYNKY i was in some really nice areas on the east end and there were plenty i guess i never really venture into the suburbs that far
Well that sure is assuring for me who’s going soon lol
@@JUSAGUYNKY I've seen my fair share of pan handlers near Indian Hills (by the Meijers) & by the Summit. Yeah, I get that they probably only come in the nicer neighborhoods to beg & leave when they finish but still.

I live 30 minutes away. I refuse to go to downtown Louisville now. Can’t do it. I value my life and safety.
Also many don’t know that Fort Knox is just on the outskirts of Louisville. I was stationed there and had some wild and weird experiences in Louisville primarily the Opana craze was when I lived in Radcliffe KY
I was hooked on em too. We called em Obamas. Presidential shit! Them yellow stop signs..
Grew up in Smoke, went to middle school most of Park Hill and went to high-school with all of Newburg.
Shepherd Square, not Clarksdale is exactly where "SmokeTown" & the famous "Ali Boxing Gloves" statue are actually located @ in the East End of the City.
You forgot about the infamous south wick and cotter homes are you really from Louisville
I’ve been in the south side my whole life and never once been robbed. Crime in the south isn’t random for the most part. Random people aren’t getting robbed or car jacked by other random people. It’s people shooting each other over money or drugs or whatever.
Maybe you look broke
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS you’re not from around here, kid. “You’ll get robbed if you walk around here”. If you’re walking the streets, you’re LITERALLY broke. Fuck out of here.
I'm in the Middletown area way out east by the Gene Snyder, its nice, but there is increasing violence and car jackings.
Wow that area used to be so nice, is st matthews still good or has that gone to crap too?
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS Saint Mathews, Middletown, and Clifton are all pretty good. My point is that random crime can happen anywhere. Where we are, it good, better than Bethlehem PA and Saint Louis where we were previously.
@@jayholiday256 Bethlehem, Pa isn't as bad as, Newark, NJ. Where I live...!! 😎
@@jayholiday256 Meh, more & more crime in Saint Matthews made me move out of the area. Nothing violent for the most part but a lot of thefts & break-ins. Having a methadone clinic down the road didn't help things.
Parts of my family's lived in Portland way back in the day.
This list is all f&@k up! If you are using this as a point of reference for research and or the history of Louisville please don’t. All of the areas he speaks of are bad but his information is inaccurate.
Pray for my City, I from UpEast Shelby Park, Smoke Town, Phoenix Hill,. Old Louisville, German Town, Fort Hill, East Market District...
Ok, the one thing that's correct is that the neighborhood around Churchill Downs is pretty fucked up.
My grandmother was murdered in Shively in 1985 in her truck. Terrible place. She just wanted a creamy whip that summer night. She was so sweet.
So sorry
Jtown here.... we're still nuts & rough, in case anyone actually didn't know.
In fact, it just snowed and everyone is out here driving into everyone else without caring at all. This cop is just walking car to car getting insurance info.
Anyway...Our cars get broke into, my old apt got broken into and my panties stolen (but they left 2 bucks for using my toilet which was thoughtful I guess), bad domestic violence, but no one complains really. At least we know each other and our own craziness.
Jefffersontown? I thought that was like a suburb
J Town Cops are the biggest assholes in the City.
@@TabithaStabitha Lol I haven’t lived in Louisville since 2020 but I can’t imagine Jtown went that downhill. I heard car/home break ins, etc in east end/jtown area went up but I’m sure it’s chill there compared to places on this list.

It is getting bad all over. I live in Camp Taylor and it is getting bad here. I have lived in different areas in this town... Including downtown in Old Louisville. It is better across the river in Southern Indiana... This whole damn town is going to Hell in a Hand basket. The problems here start with the damned politicians. When I was in 8th grade I was bused to Louisville's West end down around 42nd Street in Duvalle Middle school... Right in the middle of the two worst projects areas right between Southwick and Kotter Homes. This whole town sucks.

Its sad where we at now

I didn’t watch the video yet but I’m asking straight up how do ppl in Louiseville act towards ppl who are from another state, a state like New York, NYC to be exact? Our accent is different and maybe the way we carry ourselves. Would they be able to single us out?
They would for sure know you weren’t from around there but that’s no reason to mess with ya

I used to be proud of LOU KY but its getting harder to like what its becoming. Lived in Southside went to school in west end
I was born and raised in the west end!! Definitely not what it was when I was growing up.. I moved about 20 minutes to a small town in Indiana if I could get away from this region entirely. But my roots will always be in the hood
Do they treat u had for being different? Small towns are brutal people
I'm trying to figure out why East Saint Catherine by the park wasn't mentioned either they were shooting every single day
Grew up in the Auburndale Iroquois Area of southend Louisville right off Southside Drive there was definitely a lot going on in that area where I grew up… Down the street we had Hunt club (legacy) apartments and royal gardens apartments… but then right up the street we had Park Ridge Scottsdale candlelight and Kenwood which were all nice middle-class neighborhoods… The city is really broken down into so many different sections… You could have a dangerous hood right down the street from a nice Upper-class looking neighborhood
How the hell did this happen within a. Few years wtf, right after most of my family passed. Fast decline makes no sense the speed of it !!

Portland, when I was growing up, was always known to be ran down and poor, whites. Shively has absolutely gotten much worse. Louisville, over all has been a great place to live and I have GREAT memories.

There is no way he is from Louisville, some of the views are not even from areas he's speaking on especially the Shawnee area, at least nothing i've seen in the area as l am born and raised and live in that area of town. Totally inaccurate and purposely edited and narrated to make the west end of Louisville look bad.
Can you do worst neighborhoods in Miami next?
I live in smokerown. It's not in the east end, not even close. It's more downtown.
