I know that was a tough and successful hunt, Greg, but after finding that first Tootsie Toy dragster you showed a picture of a picture of "Big Daddy" Don Garlits and his Swamp Rat dragster after he had won the Top Fuel category at the National Drag Championships at Indianapolis in 1964, the first of 4 my Dad took me to in the 60s. We were in the crowd when that picture was taken, and had been able to watch him working on his dragster in the pit area before the finals. It certainly took me back to a happy time and fond memories. Thank you, my friend. Stay safe and keep on digging!
So glad you enjoyed those pics of Big Daddy! I got to meet him as well and we had lots of car shows at his museulm when I lived in Tampa. He's always the first one I think of when it comes to dragsters along with John Force and Don The Snake Prudhomme. Glad this episode brought back good memories for you Mike. ATB Greg
Hey Greg, to me,you make our American history come alive.Every time I watch I get wave after wave of extreme nostalgia.Your videos with pictures make me long for the wholesomeness of our country 's past!
Back in the 50s, our dentist kept a small box of cheap plastic rings to let us kids choose from after our appointment!---It's always a mystery to me how you find all those great old photos...I love 'em!
The 900 will sniff-out the silver when it's close to iron. Nice sore! I know you worked hard digging for this one. Still praying for rain for the both of us! That rabies tag is from my graduation year. Makes me feel old 😳 Two Tootsie dragsters are pretty cool. I got to meet Don Garlits at Indy once. It was a thrill. Great video as always, buddy 👍
That belt hook my guess is WW1 because of the 2 nibs attached. 2 same dragsters in the same day, crazy. Many nice period finds as well. Man that was rock hard digging. Really nice ending photo Greg.
It was great hanging out with Chris and that was a neat shape to that jar. :) Really appreciate you watching this one Joan and glad you enjoyed it! Take care and ATB Greg
The Hoover boys and a few others are pretty cool to see what is out there but, you are, without a doubt, the best in my book! I'm a 58 year old,59 come the 24th, retired machinist and you have taught me several things with the research you do. As long as you keep swingin', I'll keep watchin'.
Hi Greg & Chris , i have to say how lovely the location was down by the water just a shame it did not give up some more of it's secrets , but fortunately more success on dry land and without a dought the best find for me was the sword hanger a lovely little piece , and another good watch with good info to well done , best wishes and ATB Rob & Al .
Well Greg it's great to see you're back! I know that it was very difficult to get this video together! You did an excellent job and had wonderful finds too!
Thanks for all of your hard work in putting out this episode. You had some great finds and I really enjoyed seeing them. The old photos were fantastic. So glad you managed to put out another fantastic episode!
Great finds Greg. That kids coal shovel is cool. Those photos of coal furnaces look like one at my grandmas house. Tootsie drag cars are awesome! Take care Jon
Thanks Jon and those old coal furnaces always looked like an octopus to me. lol I really liked that toy shovel too. Really appreciate you watching this one and glad you enjoyed it! Take care and ATB Greg
Good morning, Greg, good to see you guys again! It's always a treat to find a new "Finding America" video to watch with my coffee. I got a kick outta seeing you rewarded for your perseverance with TWO dragsters!! Thanks for sharing!😎
Love the show Greg, and would love to see you do an episode that would let us see your collection of great finds! Not very many detectorist do that, and I think everyone would love it.
Maybe a miner's or gardeners pick axe to loosen the soil prior to digging might help? Same problem ALL year here in SE Iowa. Worse drought since 1988. Very hard, dry, dusty soil. Tough to enjoy the hobby when you're fighting heat and hard ground all day. Thank you for a great video!
I've only found one Tootsie car but I have been lucky enough to find two Tootsie brass road signs. What a great bit of Diggin in the hard dirt. Plus it was good to see Chris
Thanks so much William and I am definitely looking forward to some cooler weather! Really appreciate you watching this one and glad you enjoyed it! Take care and ATB Greg
Hey Greg its amazing what we will do to go out and hunt for Relics and Coins. Winter Spring Summer and Fall. Nice Hunt there. Congrats on all the Relics. Love the Sword Hook and Tootsie Cars. Take Care Greg
I got it from Kellyco. They carry them and you can use my FAUSA code on them as well. They are a bit pricey but they are really awesome and you'll never have to buy another one. I absolutely love using mine. ATB Greg
Digging in the summer cement is not one of my favorite things to do. I did, like you, manage to get out. Will be heading for the gulf coast on Sunday. Leaving the morning before the first predicted frost.
I wonder why it is that whenever somebody finds a pocket watch it’s always the back and not the whole thing. I think of all the metal detecting shows I watch on UA-cam maybe two or three whole pocket watches I have seen dug out of the ground in the last couple years.

Condiment jar at 18:06 was made by Hazel-Atlas, not Anchor-Hocking. Anchor-Hocking glass has their anchor logo on the bottom.
Thanks. I realized that too late after I had put the episode together. Appreciate the correction. Take care and ATB Greg

Rear view mirror holder ? Probably out side, reminds me of my 61 Olds
Fiesta wagon !
LFOD !

Thanks so much for subbing to the channel and really glad to hear you enjoy my episodes! ATB Greg
Always enjoy your vids. You haven’t seen tough soil here in the desert of Arizona. Caliche is a killer… thanks…..
Thanks Rick and I know all about the ground in Arizona. That's where I detected my first year back in 1980 when I was 13 years old! ATB Greg
You might be able to find the history of that pocket watch as it was assembled through the factory.
Nice love id bottle caps good job viewer❤
I agree Timothy. So glad Lorna was able to finally ID that one for me. I appreciate you watching this one! ATB Greg
Really like the shovel...lots of credit for digging in that soil...and where did you get the tube you were putting your water finds on?
I got it from Kellyco. They carry them and you can use my FAUSA code on them as well. They are a bit pricey but they are really awesome and you'll never have to buy another one. I absolutely love using mine. ATB Greg
I've dug a Hinds, Honey and Almond Cream bottle, but no lids 😂 Good hunting and Godspeed
Great video Greg. It has been dry here in West Tn also. Hopefully we'll get some showers soon.
I hope so too!
Nice work Greg! My wrists hurt just looking at that ground 😒
Digging in the summer cement is not one of my favorite things to do. I did, like you, manage to get out. Will be heading for the gulf coast on Sunday. Leaving the morning before the first predicted frost.
Was that the area the shrubs got pulled out that you found the shovel
Yes, that was the exact spot. ATB Greg
Good morning from nj
Good morning Timothy! Really appreciate you watching this one and hope you enjoyed it! Take care and ATB Greg
That is an old auto mirror bracket, door mount.
Yes, I mentioned it could be a mirror base in the video. Thanks for the help with it Gary. ATB Greg
@@FindingAmerica sorry about that. I missed that somehow!
@@garygraham6020 it was in the text with the provided picture of the cleaned up find. No problem

The little shovel looks like an old Marx brand toy.
That definitely could be. ATB Greg
I enjoyed this video. You certainly live in God's country.
Please rain 😊😊😊
