I recently bought a 1984 500 sec. And instead of the usual "throw money at it" approach many channels say. You give a process to do it yourself! You've been such a big help!!
What I’ve found is that the heat is what gets those Sun visors. Had the 260e sitting out in the sun one hot July day while shopping. When we returned to the car the entire ‘guts’ of the Sun-visor like yours was hanging by the wiring…..
Mr. Impalaman! You are the best with this plastic stuff! Now I got a question for you: On my visor the entire mirror assembly is loose - I can lift it out and see the original hard foam and glue spots which kept the mirror assembly in place in the visor. However, this glue is gone. I used 6 sticks of hobby lobby hot melt glue clear and now every time it get warm inside the car the glue gets soft and loosens the mirror assembly. My visor is not fully flat anymore on the inside because the hard foam of the visor has dried out over the years. Here comes the question, what foam / glue should I use to hold the mirror permanently in place and where temperature has no impact? See here at 3 minutes in ua-cam.com/video/wzBBjrR8eYY/v-deo.html Thanks! Your buddy Peter from Kansas
I've had good luck with LOCTITE Vinyl, Fabric and Plastic Flexible Adhesive. (Purple and blue tube) Loctite also makes a two-part epoxy that is designed for plastics but if you go that route it's in there permanently. The flexible adhesive is not so strong to prevent you from taking it apart but should not be susceptible to heat in the car. I checked the technical data sheet on the Loctite site and the service temperature for the flexible adhesive is up to 140°F.
@@ImpalamansGarage Mr. Impalaman, thank you, I will get both and report / video back when I have some time! With many greetings from Kansas, your buddy Peter

Отличная работа! Тоже есть такая опция в моем 126 мерсе.
I’ll never understand how you make this stuff look so simple! But well done nonetheless!
I fiddled with that thing for a long while before figuring out what was wrong with it. LOL
👏👏👏👏👏👏👌😍
