Cirrus blue! A rare colour on those. So rare to see a 5 speed manual as well. You can adjust the steering box up to a point...BUT.....on of the biggest causes of 'steering box play' on these, E28's, E34's etc is the 32 mm nut at the base of the steering column inside the car. Fit a big spanner to it and turn the steering wheel clockwise to nip up the nut. I bet you that will remove a lot of the play. Before you do that though, fully extend the column and brush some grease on to the splines and move the column up and down on the adjuster.
The bracket that mounts the steering box to the subframe always snaps on these. My e24 was like that when I bought it and fixing it really tightened everything up. Mine is a late model as well (89’)also located in Mass, with a bunch of misc. parts if you need anything.
@@Tommy-bahama can’t wait to get home and check to see if it’s cracked. Kind of hope it isn’t but also would be nice to know what’s making it do that. I might need some parts in the future. Any way you could dm me on instagram?
@@Tommy-bahama What I do is cut the bracket off and bin it. Then cut a piece of steel tube to the correct length and use a long bolt all the way down through the subframe - that won't break!
I'm just starting my own series of videos on my channel on my own e24, mines a 630 but just like yours looks super awesome, I'd love to follow along because I know alot less about bmws lol
This car is absolutely beautiful dude, I am in LOVE with this thing. Amazing pickup, cannot wait to see more of it! I actually really like the OEM wheels, they would be dope refinished.
Dude I had a champagne gold 633, and a silver 635 sold the gold one then my silver 633 then got T-boned in the silver one bummer. Been looking ever since to replace it.

Is that a Maserati parked in front of it at the previous owners shop?
It was! I believe it was a 220. I don’t know anything about those cars. I think the motor was out of it.
Is it for sale?
Im not sure yet still have a few things I’d like to freshen up before I would sell it
