I homemade my own aiders with rope and old tubing. I know if you watch up online (Amazon or something like that) stick aider, you’ll find a lot of options
My only negative comment, having a pair myself, is that duragrip finish is excessive. It messes up my bag and pants/ jacket when walking in or out. I had to put hockey tape on but the top grip part. Not sure why youd need grip on the face of jt.
I can get about 18-20 feet with my 4 sticks. 12 feet just isnt high enough for me. Might try a rope aider if you have any suggestions

I do agree it is very sharp. Pros and cons to both situations
