I dont mind his ult per se, BUT getting sucked away from high ground to jeff 3 meters below me is legit bs. If he gets you on the same level, sure, but if you're abive him it should not suck you into the abyss. It should function more like eg Venture ult in ow
Jeff's ult just feels abysmal to play against, especially depending on the map and who I am playing. Played a game as Groot and it was that one KOTH map where there is a death pit right next to the point. I heard Jeff ult, and my only chance at survival was to use both of my walls to build up a staircase to try and escape. However, it didn't matter that I built that wall staircase like I was playing comp Fortnite, he caught me in his ult and I just... die. If I can't use Groot's resources to escape, my "counter play" is to play separated from my team (enough to where Jeff has to choose me or my team) until Jeff uses his ult or swap characters to someone with an escape button.
I know it’s an ult but it’s such a large AOE with a janky/inconsistent hitbox that swallows through floors, from 2 stories in the air, from outside of the marked circle, etc. His AOE is completely hidden until the last possible moment leaving you almost no time to react to the janky hitbox. And once he has you swallowed up, he has long enough to travel all the way across the map to an edge and just jump off. Your positioning literally doesn’t matter. Needs a more telegraphed aoe, fixed hitboxes, and/or he needs way less time to find an edge and not allowed to jump off with people (forced to spit off).
I personally think it's fine to have Jeff though. The ult can be a turn-the-table, depending on the situation, which I find that okay. I never use Jeff because I can't bear the responsibility of his heal and ult though.
I hate playing Jeff because I just get hard dove by Black Panther and Psylocke every game and I hate how much vertical range his ult has because I literally can't even fly away from it unless I'm pretty much at the skybox already.
Love his visual design, hate his gameplay design. The reason Rivals is so fun is that you barely ever get CC'd and lose control of your character. Then there's Jeff, who has the longest CC in the game, and can legitimately teamkill his allies. Rivals would be a better game without him
I kept swallowing the tanks and taking them off, so eventually, a hulk ulted, ran past my entire team, and came for me just to do the smacking the Jeff around. I’ve also been solo altered by Groot and Thor at the same time while on mantis. Fun times.
@ if they do then, I’m doing a damn good job. I’ve forced several people off cart to tunnel me in OT, had multiple double ultimates used for just me, and often escape from flankers enough that it takes 2 or 3 to kill me on certain characters. I would say that’s definitely making it worthwhile
