When in Iowa a trip to Paragon is a must.
I'd rather have an E-Ray, which also has the factory warranty. I love what Paragon did aesthetically to their car, which I'm sure ain't cheap. Ultimately, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I've experienced Vettes that have been tuned. And I'll never have another one. The reliability just isn't there. Great Video Mike. 👍👍 Save the Wave 🙋♂
I have two tuned corvettes with no problems maybe you just needed a good tuner.
You hit the nail of the proverbial head. I don't have a tuner close by. So that's why I stay away from a tuned car. As the famous philosopher Dirty Harry said, "A man has got to know his limitations."

@petercarey5074 the car can be tuned remotely with the right equipment.
If the right equipment is available and it's not for me. So, no more tuned cars for me. Plus, why screw around with factory settings when they've spent millions doing R & D?

Just have 30k banked in case something explodes. that's my move xD.
There is no substitute for the z06. That engine is amazing. Track monster. I have a fully built motor with a sc on my z51 and the z06 is just a different animal on a race track. Gun to my head take the red dragon im keeping the z06 and building it into a zr1 killer when the warranty is done.

If you get in line for a Callaway C8 Whipple, twin screw supercharger then you could get just under 700 hp and just under 650 ft. lbs.. torque, with a GM full 36 month warranty all for the same price, I have the first production HTC version on my hypersonic gray, 3lt natural dipped stingray and it screams and flies down the road!
Excellent choice, in a perfect world, when they come out with Grand Sport, then you’ll have a wide body C8, with a 6.2, supercharger available with or without factory warranty depending on who you use. I currently have a C8 with a ProCharger stage 2 615 RWHP, and are extremely happy with it. It is a 2020 so no more warranty anyway. I also have a C8 ZO6 2023, everyone is hung up on the way it sounds and it sounds good, but so doesn’t the C8 with ProCharger and Borla exhaust. I honestly hope the ZR1 is a 6.2 twin turbo not the 5.5, I am not totally sold on 5.5, but the 6.2s have a long track record and I think they sound every bit as good as the 5.5, it’s just different. I am not a huge proponent of highly modding these 6.2s, but adding a forced induction is not a big deal, pricy now , just depends on what your after I guess. So back to my choice, if I can never get a ZRI, then I would get a Grand sport( assuming they make one) and put a forced induction on it.

How do you find the low-end torque on the z06 when compared against the SR?
Would LOVE a ZO6 over either! But would def do an an LMR'd supercharged C8 over an E-Ray!
BOS - I think the question is this: if you have a C8 already and are thinking of trading up is this a better way to go. The C8 trade will be low since so many are available. You’ll spend a lot to get to a Z06 or array. Thoughts?

I would install procharger myself so for me id probably go with the stingray with procharger. Plus im sure there is different pulleys for more boost. But would i rather have ZO6 Or procharged stingray for the same amount of money im going to say Z06.

Id say cam E85 tune maybe headers be 600 + hp. If u could do work urself probably wouldn’t cost to much. Then a procharger on top of all that ur at 1000hp at crank could make even more but fueling starts to be a problem more money of course would fix anything. 2LT stingray my father just bought one $87,000 tax included. Put another $30,000 into car procharger came E85 tune 1000 hp for 117k maybe more with better clutch. Now ur getting up around ZO6 money but have more power. Be a better st car but Z06 better track car of course. U could save half in labor if u do work urself of course. Probably best bet pay someone to do the cam swap and headers if headers even worth it idk. Maybe down the road procharger install urself really pretty simple just time consuming with a little mechanical knowledge its basically a bolton. But once u have the mods the sky is the limit u could make 1000hp at the wheels maybe or more depends how far u want to go right haha. Z06 u would have to spend a lot more money to make all that power idk both would be great right haha.
I can only dream Maybe in a few years ill get my fathers im a mechanic i can build 1000hp stingray man i can only dream lol!!
Right now im still happy with my 18 Camaro still have turbos sitting on bench if i ever find the time who knows lol!!
Why do you stop when the supercharger is just getting started? All the power is in the top range for snail style sc's

To your question> No! Resale will be terrible as you're rolling the dice big time on service and reliability and the price delta is so small or non-existent for a z06 or eRay, you'd have to be nuts to buy one.
Aside from the clutch, has the transmission been upgraded on the Stingray or is the stock transmission sufficient to handle the extra power?

I have a Z06 C8 and a Lingenfelter supercharged Stingray. Totally different cars and the Z06 is a much better track car, but the supercharged Stingray will smoke my Z06 to 120 or so. It’s not close.
Procharged C8 Stingray is faster a C8 Z06 too.

Yes on Le Mans. C8 has a way to go to match the C5 at Le Mans, but it took a few years to get there.
Let’s hope for a repeat by the C8 in the near future

This is childs play. Need to build the car not just throw a procharger on it. Easily can get 800 rwhp out of this platform. Tremec can handle the power TCM cant deal with the torque. Its going to fault p0700 and numerous trans codes when you push it hard. If someone could unlock the tcm we would see some serious shit.

I’ve said this since the very beginning, besides the engine this is the first time that I like a base Corvette over the Z06 variant. The front bumper of the base car looks more sinister, the Z looks like it’s smiling at you. I think they went a little excessive with the wideness, and it just looks kind of awkward. And once you take a look at the gas cap side you can’t on see the ugly fish face that is plastered on the side of the car because of the side vent resembling an open bass mouth. I’ve had five Corvettes and four of them have been ZO6’s with my last one being a C7 Z. I currently have a z51 3lt stingray in black, and I think that color paired with it being a stingray is the best combination. I might get roasted by fanboys, but that’s what I feel. I just picked it up, and I am looking to make it look like the the APR orange car. I almost talked myself into a Z because I can afford either, but I would rather have some thing that I can drive on more of a consistent basis and also some thing that I don’t have to worry about ticking Like my buddies Z that he ended up getting rid of. I’m curious to see what the ZR1 looks like.
Performed terrible at LeMans😣!! Perform terrible at IMSA!! C8 is behind the learning curve. It's beautiful and eye catching on the road but statistics at the race courses leaves a lot to be desired. I'm just sayin😂.
