- How much weight on your weight belt is too much when you are scuba diving and freediving. How much weight do you need before you cant get up and you are stuck on the bottom of the pool?

NEW FEAR UNLOCKED: not being able to swim up to the surface
NEW FEAR UNLOCKED: not being able to get out of a suit
Don’t worry! These belts are very safe, they are very easy to remove and have a meaning for that. He is also a trained professional! Any questions ask me :)
I know that people in medieval times would die if they got knocked off a boat while wearing armor due to drowning and this video really shows why. 30 pounds for armor or gear is fairly standard for medieval times for something like chainmail and it could be closer to like 60 pounds for plate armor. That would make swimming pretty much impossible.
So am I bro I get it I would literally die 😭😭😭

bro how he said 'so now im gonna fill the air with suit' XD at 3:25 its just funny
My ears felt pain just watching this
Why?
Nah it looked like he was equalizing as he Went down.
Rumor is the weights are still on the bottom of the pool to this day.
US Navy suits are made especially dense so you can literally scoop air into them and the auit behaves like a floating device.
NEW FEAR UNLOCKED: skin falling off

But he is an expert
The issue is relative sensitty not weight

thats dangerous, great content
Weight belts are really safe cus they are really easy to get off so if he started to drown he would take it off
@@MashPotato692some people might panic though, so still dangerous
@@veronicaadams3714 people using those weight belts would have training using them and would not panic. people that do are just idiots not gonna lie.

If you couldn't have gotten all the way up, would you have dropped the weights near surface or go back down to lay them down (i would imagine lead has a potential of cracking tiles dropped from few meters)
I absolutely loved the delivery on how to get up if you have to much weight. The comedic timing was excellent!
Crazy how this video showed up in my recomended feed literally the same day I remembered a specific fear that would sometimes happen when I was a diver. On some dives I would purposly get close to the bottom of the pool so I could push off the bottom and get up faster. But sometimes when you go off to push, you completely miss the bottom (and most of your air is blown out from the dive you just did) and so you're stuck either having to desperatly push yourself to the bottom so you can pop off and get to surface, or swim as fast as you can the rest of the 20 feet that you're under the water, which can just be stressful and make a few seconds feel alot longer than that lol
Bro I do that all the time lol
Same
This is why I love swimming in a monofin. Every kick in a monofin has enough propulsion you feel like you just pushed off of something.
As a diver it was really cool and funny to see you diving off the platforms!
Nice job with the video it was very helpful
Agreed

Gear drops are something we are taught during combat water survival training in the army so you don't sink down with your gear. You are expected to be able to swim with your rifle however but its a pretty short distance. A lot of people struggle with the rifle part since they have little practice with side strokes.
For water polo we used to have to swim holding bricks out of the water. It’s damn hard.
In WWII, the soldiers on D-day would have been carry somewhere around 60 lbs, or 27 kgs. Considering that wet clothes also add quite a bit of weight, it can be seen that water can be extremely dangerous!!!
Yeah, those scenes in Saving Private Ryan were disturbing. And that's if bullets didn't find a way to them.
I love how much and how hard he tries to get it to be great content after diving in with 8kg I think he kinda look scared but he kept going:) love the hard work you put into this:)

What? You just unclip the belt ……..
@andystringfellow8380 yea i know but still anything could go wrong
@@veryeddyas it could if you are walking down stairs, driving a bike or car or even just by eating & drinking unhealthily, so I don’t see the argument here, especially since those are probably all more likely to kill you than a removable weight belt you can get off just by moving 1-2 fingers
@@veryeddy your right he could have gotten hit by a bus on the way to the pool
I always wondered about how much weight so the mafia bucket thing would not be surviveable
That would be different, since your feet would be tied. But let's find out 😉
It's not a real thing. Maybe tie cinderblocks to your body. But it takes way too long to mix and cure the cement when a bullet or knife does the job.
It's not for killing them, it's for disposing of the body so it wont be found, but yeah, there's only ever been one real-life case(Peter Martinez)
@@bryanwoods3373
I put a bunch of dive bricks weighing roughly 15-18kg in a bag it was pretty fun swimming with it, not much struggle but thats probably because the pool was only 3m
How deep is that pool. Is it more then 12 feed deep. It looks like it is anyway.
3:05
What you should do if you're heavy and stick at the bottom of a pool: remove your weight
I unstick myself pretty good 😂
You're meant to crouch down and release the air from the dry suit before you go into water. Can be dangerous as you can get stuck upside down
Honestly I never felt like I needed weight to sink. I remember when we would play sharks and minnows my strategy usually involved diving beneath the sharks and using superior submerged maneuverability and lower buoyancy to stop them from reaching me. It was a gamble though because they can easily outrun me at the surface.
Including sharks who were swim team people. Funny thing is that the things that are helpful for swimming in a straight line at the surface don't matter submerged.
You do in sea water. trying to dive with just a snorkel and no weights is hard work
@@petermacleod5710 No honestly it's not. At least not for me. I had no trouble diving down and following little sea turtles around a coral reef one time (ok, maybe a little bit of trouble, they're super fast and turn on a dime), just goggles, snorkle, and swimsuit. Seawater is denser but not enough to make it even remotely difficult to control depth in my experience. It definitely didn't feel like I was fighting bouyancy. I'm sure if I just sat there I would eventually float to the surface unless fully exhaled or deep enough for my lungs to compress, but even with full air, if I moved horizontally at all it instantly overwhelmed the bouyant force.

The most fun of this video was watching you try and get out of the suit hahaha. 😆
I also expected a human to be able to carry more weight with the ability to easily swim up.
I have a pool at home and go in everyday during the summer. I find it strange that some days I can jump in, and sit on the bottom. Other days I have to fight stay at the bottom (fan upwards). Its always with a deep breath, so must be if Im full of gas, fluids or something. I literally jump in wondering if Im going to sink or float today.
could also be the tempreture of the water, even a few degrees can change its properties enough to have a noticable affect

Weights are prob still under the water.
That's like, incredibly dangerous. I would probably want to have a belt that's like clipped in and not strapped in so like, if something happens and I can't use both hands then I can just snap the clip open with a single hand and then get up quickly. I also probably wouldn't even do that because my lung capacity is garbage. I can only hold it while moving underwater for like 15-20 seconds max and I float like super easily. Even when I'm trying to hold myself underwater by like grabbing the ladder or something to test how long I can hold my breath my lower half likes to attempt to float upwards like gravity got reversed.
you have to train dive reflex but also be relaxed so you dont use up oxygen in your lungs too fast

WHY THE FUCK IS THIS ON My F4P I TYPED HOW TO SWIM ONE TIME 3 MONTHS AGO
That's a stupid and dangerous and dangerous thing to do 😐😐
This would be a fun test for me cause I can float without needing to swim. I tried this once with 3 massive boulders and I still could not keep myself from floating up with about a half breath

So I can’t swim because I’m skinny and have no fat? Not because I’m black 😂
Black people do have higher bone density, so that is a factor. But if you eat enough donuts you will eventually one day float up.

Hey, I have an issue. Even if i breathe out fully, I still float up in the water! Do you think its the fat on my body, or something else? Thsnks for rrading this.
He should have shown how he got the weight belt back to the surface from the bottom of the pool.
just go down and take the weights back up 1 by 1
😅 just 2 kilos and you remained down. I guess all this muscles be keeping me from floating

The suit is very comedic! it made my evening! music choice was good.
I don't float no matter how much I fill my lungs. I have a hard time floating in salt water.
When on the bottom try letting out all your air. That's a true test of how fit you are, physically and mentally. It's surprisingly difficult and disconcerting to realise how dead in the water you are without ballast!
Omg. Finally a video I can relate to. This year I learned how to dive. Before that I would instantly float back up. XD
