- Everyone keeps talking about how great Descript is but it can't do nearly as many things as you might want. Where is the designing? Templates? Sizing? It is just so limiting. I don't know about you but I am not interested in having ANOTHER tool I have to use that does one thing.

My favorite thing about descript is the text-based editing. I can delete sections of video in the transcription and I can edit the audio track separately to get it pretty precise. if during a text edit and it cuts a word off I can go into the audio track and extend that section so you can hear the whole word. I don't see any other software that lets you do that. I wonder if Kapwing is as good as descripts text to audio and audio editing?

I love Kapwing too but it has a lot of bugs for me =( so it was back to Descript for me.
not only that isn't free but it's even more expensive than descript lol
At the time I filmed this that wasn't the case. Descript has done a lot of great things lately and lowered their prices.

There are TEMPLATES! There is SIZING! You just have to sit through those clutzy corporate videos to get your answers. And you can attend the corporate explanation of the changes in the last three months at the meeting June 6th!

how else do you think people who make content on youtube get paid. I have been using lapwing for over 5 years and love it. They don't sponsor me but when I talk about them and the tool solves a problem for the viewer, why not get paid by the company for sending them the sale? Affiliates are not sponsors.
