#PioneerDJ #CraftYourSound #DJMV10
The comment section on this video are hilarious. Ironically, whether on Reddit or DJ forums, it's mostly from a lot of Allen & Heath fanboys (to be clear A&H make impeccable mixers and the quality of their circuitry is outstanding ). I purchased this mixer 2 months ago. It's worth the price of admission and a lot of the comments are obvious from people who don't understand what this mixer can do. To be clear, the last mixer I purchased was the Pioneer DJM-1000, Pioneer's first and last ground breaking 6-channel mixer and the 1st mixer with true 24bit sound. With the addition of the remix-1000 and EFX 1000 I could manipulate sounds similar to all Pioneer mixers that followed. I had no need to purchase another mixer. Until this mixer came along.
1.) Yes, you can easily use all 6 channels on this mixer. 2 CDJ's, 2 turntables, and the other 2 channels can be used in a plethora of ways. If you're using Denon SC-players, each Denon player can act as 2 players (or 2 SC players=4 tracks simultaneously) . Now, all of a sudden, you have all six channels utilized (hopefully Pioneer's replacement CDJ2000NXS-2 will have this capability). However, it's the send function I use the most and it's the send function that is the need for extra channels. You can send a track being played on one channel to the rest of the 5 channels with full EQ controls, a selected beat effect, LPF and HPF applied to all channels, and all channels can have additional send effect applied, as well. That alone merits the extra channels. This allows you to create a choir like sound from one vocal, adding real layering in sounds sourced from the original track without distortion. In other words, if you have minimal sounding track and you want to have a much richer sound. This mixer can easily add that layering without distortion. This DJM-V10 does this seamlessly with high definition and no distortion.
2.) As far as filters and beat effects. The 64bit ECC processors are phenomenal they're equal to any analog signal out there. I don't care what you say. The signal analysis, specifically, the Fourier transforms, this mixer applies are rich and have warmth. I hate to say this, in retrospect, even when comparing an Allen & Heath Xone 92 vs a DJM900... in terms of signal analysis there is a minimal difference, at most (at the most, the DJM 900 has minor secondary and tertiary harmonic distortion in filters but the ground noise on the Pioneer is cleaner). The DJM-V10 adds an exponential jump in processing power in producing a cleaner sound and the ability to transform from that sound via wave manipulation. That is not a bias statement. That is a pure mathematical statement. Sound is nothing but waves. A series of cosine and sine waves that can be shaped and transformed. This mixer does this better than anything I've heard.
3.) Build quality for this mixer is impeccable. Not as great as the Pioneer DJM-1000 (that mixer was $4,200.00 back in 2004). Initially, the white, amber, and red buttons were a bit off along with the bulb type lighting on the metters. However, after some time it does provide a break from the norm and the quality of the lighting is more intense. On the other hand, I wish there was a way to control the light output.
4.) There are so many other features I could mention. The DJM V-10 has features I never considered but now that I've been introduced to them I see them as necessary. For instance, the compression control. I have a lot of tracks recorded from vinyl. When mixing vinyl tracks with wav.files, the gains have to be increased significantly. It's hard to find that balance between gain vs distortion of sound because of the loudness limitations in terms of decibels with vinyl. Now with compression path, on the DJM V-10, it increases "clarity" without adding volume (gains). Granted the noise floor is also amplified but it only becomes noticeable when it's turned all the way up. The external effects layout is so easy to apply and it makes so sense intuitively. The level of control with external effects is beyond balanced.
To describe this mixer would be along the lines of a Allen & Heath 96 + DJM900NXS2 + Effects Processors + Additional Player = DJM V10.
-To be clear, I'm a Pioneer fanboy. What do I think of Pioneer currently? Up to this point, I thought the Xone-96 coupled with a RMX-1000 was the best possible way forward as far as mixers. I was about to purchase a Xone-96 after using one over a year. Not anymore. The DJM V10 truly adds a level of creativity that I didn't think was possible. This is a major leap in the evolution of mixers. To a large degree, it truly a sound manipulator. While this mixer looks and is complex, the layout makes so much sense. After the 3rd day of mixing for 12 hours, the layout was clear to understand. Mastering this mixer will take a great deal of time, simply because there are so many permutations in sound this can mixer can accommodate. As far as players, I think Denon with their SC players has the edge now but the SC players are still lacking the quality that the Pioneer CDJ's units bring. Without a doubt, this is one of the best mixers on the market. Curiously, according to Pioneer it's not their flagship mixer. Just something different. I don't know what that means because this mixer can almost certainly do anything a DJM900NXS2 can do and A LOT MORE.
Finally someone who gets it!
The only thing is, the djs in this video say the same as with previous mixer :
I heard Carl Cox promote the Model one
Eats everything said promo stuff about the Xone 96 when it came out...
The V10 is a great mixer i think..but to ser the same dj’s say stuff everytime a new shiny comes out..sounds like promotion and giveaways to me..but hey, if pioneer sends me one i will make a video too 😬
I bought one last year in January, by accident, really. I almost regretted it, but... with time and practise, the passion and love came. I love the sound, the detail, the 4 band EQ. I love the B2B sessions because of the B CUE. Beat FX allocation to a channel - the buttons and indication of the active channel... it made me change my workflow. Routing built-in FX to a channel and the preview capability are great. I could go on after 100s hours with this beast. It is expensive, but it is the best.
i guess you don't use it in a dark setting because you can't see anything cause there are few lights above the cue buttons unless that channel is playing. maybe good for production but for live mixing in a clud? not so much.
Damn, imagine if Pioneer DJ brings out a 6 channel controller, that thing would be huge!
3:17 fake grab invisible knob followed by fake adjusting of the pitch slider smfh
Cry more
Some people have no shame of faking at all, it's sad but true.
All the real djs do that sometimes when they're in the zone.. nothing wrong with that... guess you'll never understand that you don't even have the money to buy all the gears to even touch it literally forget about fake touching it.. 🤣
@@AdornationMusic If a "real DJ" wants to fake some move they can just hit the mixer cue buttons randomly or barely touch the record or jogwheel in a way it makes no perceivable difference, same with the gain or the high eq knob, for instance, but this is straight out bs.
Cranking the tension up on the jog?
1:55 "wooowww six channels" Bro, Model 1 has around 4 years on the market. I'll go with A&H on this one.
Pioneer had a 6 channel in 2004 ... DJM-1000... have a look at it
Xone96 has 8 channels!
THANKS REALLY GREAT. REALLY ENJOYING THIS MIXER TO PLAY TO FIVE PEOPLE ON FACEBOOK LIVE. THNX
Ah yes facebook, the staple of club culture
Will we play differntly with this one?
Potentially - just like you could with the DJM-1000 from way back around 2005
Hehe. I don’t know what Richie Hawtin is saying that his playdifferently ambassador Carl Cox is moving back to pioneer 😏
@@THOMASTAYIMOEHL I'm sure they're both happy with their endless curiosity and passion for music, whatever harware they use ;)
That's your choice as an artist.
Carl will "play differently" with this one till the next pay cheque comes along for him to endorse whatever tech pays him for his scripted bullshit praise next.
"DJs want to take theire audience on a journey..." The most overused DJ phrase ever...
Init, change the f*cking record
Dj's nowadays are dead... Dead in soul, self indulgent and basically like a porn film, once you seen one, you've seen them all...
@@tamjames1496 Wow, that honestly is a great comparison.
Especially those that do the mega-line up, multi DJ gigs and play for 1-2hrs. Where we going? The corner shop...?
@@tamjames1496 I understand the statement. To a large degree, I enjoy bedroom DJ's when they post their mixes on UA-cam. However, you still have a lot of DJ's who are intricate with their mixing abilities, adding effects (to the degree that you don't know they're adding effects), and know how to layer.
i wanna hear a mix where all 6 tracs are playing at the same time.....no? You wont find it...what about 5? not either? ,4?....ammmmmmm, NO....,3? I can find that, but its from the 90s when techno was still techno ,was minimalistic so you could put 3 songs on top in theory...finding 3 that would sound enyojablle is a bit hard....
In terms of Techno I guess Speedy J is a good example of always playing at least (most of the time) 3 tracks at the same time. That is why it is almost impossible to Track ID in his sets :) But I get your point tho. But i think it is more about the possibilities with set-up, sampler equipment etc and mess with loads of new FX and stuff and improves sound quality.
yes! Its gone CRAZY. it doesn't matter to the crowd. just play good music!
Yeah but you could plugin turntables, 8 track, keyboards, fx system, radar system, hadron collider.... etc etc
you can easily play 2 tracks together with 2 loops and effects so you can use all 6 channels especially with techno. Jeff used to play 4 tracks together all the time
Tim De Rooij thats because speedy j almost breaks everything down in loops and pieces, i think he can utilise all 6 channels if he wants too.
Is there a set on youtube where someone utilises this thing to its full potential? would love to listen to that
Lookup Petter B's set from an in store demo in april for instance
Carl Cox uses it on his cabin fever lockdown set videos as well, perhaps not all six channels but hes using it
Very Nice 💪
Looks promising! This looks like it's got all the features i need. So if i'm not mistaking it's also an audio interfase? Will be able to route for example channel 1-3 to Ableton and 3 -6 to Serato. So i can create a dj / live set? What about the send and returns can they go true some Ableton effects?
Amelieeee
awsome mixer!! a dream!!
Can´t wait to give it a go!
Cool beans
What’s the track id about 1:00
Amazing bit of kit
Expensive mixer and best looking😀
Awesome stuff Pioneer 👏
Allen and Heath DB4 + K2 I can get 7 channels. 4 on one channel (has 4 faders etc...) and 3 on the DB4. All 4 channels on the D4B have second to none effects built in. Just saying...
Ahhh but do you have independent headphone monitors?
@Thomas H I actually have both mixers.. The sound from the pioneer is unreal as is the db4 but the pioneer one is better as it should as the db4 is 8-9 years old.. Both are brilliant mixers
This is my life 💓
Nice work guys!
Using the rmx 1000 ipad app and it doesn't seem to want to stay in time. I'm using the v10 as well
... NUmber one ideal for me' ! ☺👍💛
Please make a big donation to Carl Cox so that he can pay his manager.
I love dj❤
Best video👌
I been dj for 27 years, and surprise mixers with six Channels is not a new Product Pioneer, is more we have the DJM 1000. So this is another update about old product. Funny saw specially Carl Cox talking about this mixer when all people now that he is engaged with A&H for do his Performance. But the way talk about good quality in sound is funny also when you have a lot mixers with DSP, other question is that the dj jump over 3 db, then all music start to lost quality. Sorry guys but maybe is time to make your product with best and durable quality before make a new products.
Does it cost a thousand dollars for each channel?
Its like 5.2K brand new
500 $ per channel :D
1st six channel Pioneer Mixer DJM-1000. It had sends. Also 3 band EQ for master. 2nd Generation six channel Pioneer DJM-V10. Even better lol
🙌🏾🙌🏾🎶🎼🥶
Xone for life! .:-)
Do i need pilot licence to buy it?
Dear Pioneer DJ Engineers & Product Devs: Now that your top mixer (once again) has six channels, can we assume that an update to the PRO DJ LINK protocol is imminent, allowing at least six (6) PRO LINK-enabled devices to connect? (opposed to the current hard limit of four (4) max devices... or 4+1 if the 5th is an Toraiz SP-16)? Like the man says: "playing with four CDJs and a Sampler was a little bit problematic" .... if the sampler is a DJS-1000 + four CDJs, then it's still going to be problematic. Looking forward to it.
NO we can't - i asked Pioneer 6-7 years ago on a official way for a minimal update for the CDJ2000 to allow use smaller steps on the cue like 1/2 milliseconds i received a nice conformation mail about my case and a hint to wait and than to buy their next generation player CDJ2000NXS.
.
So you can prepare for it to buy the DJM V20 for a billion.
.
Ps. so much for the topic customer friendliness & money-grubbing
thank
I would love be able to afford this DJM V10 plus CDs cause the way I DJ this DJM 250 own doesn't work for House Music 😢🤩♥️
Xone 96?
Pioneer tried their best, but close ain't enough.
I order one of these in April and still have not received it. The company told me Pioneer is having production issues due to COVID 19
It's worth the wait. I got one, back in April. The sound processing on this mixer is par with anything in the market.
I love pioneer
i have this mixer and i don't even use it anymore. it is sooooo dark in a dark setting. you can't even see anything hardly at all and the sound from each channel has no limiter so it's all over the place. why they stopped making the djm 2000 nexus is beyond me. alos, it takes forever to link up with cdjs and sometimes doesn't.
Wow ,,, six channels ,,, thats so retro its nearly new ,,
I prefer Allen and Heath XONE mixer.
Hahahaha stupid because the Pioneer DJ is the revolution of the all sound industry
@@djjorge5253 that's a cool opinion brother.
@@Dbulkss yes the people prefer the most Best company for example i prefer pioneer but if you prefer allen&health isn't a problem
CDJ-3000 pls!
@Thomas H CDJ-3000 for 4000$ only usable with Rekord CRAP box !
Denon
@@1312_PV yo tengo la Prime 4 y super contento!
what's the last track
Cool
Paying all those DJs to highlight your product makes it so much more expensive.
Considering carl cox uses a model 1 and jamie jones allen and heath its laughable .
@@persona250 Carl Cox has been using this in his mixes during the lockdown
@@bendursley tbf Carl Cox uses what he is being sponsored: pioneer, traktor, model 1...
@Thomas H Gear = 2%*, DJ = 98% (* as long as a minimum standard and gear capabilites are met). Most of the fancy add-ons are not relevant compared to creativity and time selection.
@Thomas H it would be funny to stitch all those videos together where he is praising the product he has just been given for free. 🤣🤣
Song list pls
lmbo. more than 4 sources going at once??
You can return FX signals to the channels as well... so then you can EQ, filter and apply more FX to the wet effect signal.
It's brand war...
I remember that few years ago these same superstars DJs were telling you "Play Differently Model:1 is THE new 6 channels mixer that I use..."
Today the same superstars DJs are all cheering for the Pioneer mixing desks, and they are saying "I love the new 6 channels mixing desk Pioneer have done it's what I use now."
Perhaps if Denon bring them (a good amount of cash...) these same superstars DJs will all tell you " Pioneer sucks... Denon just released the 6 channels mixing desk that I always wanted to have in my hands...
Who is here for the Queen Amelie Lens 🥰🥰♥️
Makes no difference for Sven Vath
None of the artists featured in the video have spent their money to buy it, the brand is given their products for them to advertise and amateur or non-professional people spend 3,299 € worth of the mixer, a lot of money for do what all mixers do, mix music, stay with it I don't buy it
I paid for it.. I also have the allen&heath db4 and the sound from the v10 is another level altogether
@@Gunner11763 I personally can't afford it, I'll wait for Pioneer to give it to me hehehehehehe ;)
@@Gunner11763 Well, if your giving away money then i could use a couple of grand.

do they try to copy alien & heath ? but the cheap version :D
Sure =)
Well take a look at the DJM-1000 from 2005 and think about it
why have all clubs CDJ's and DJM's? It's not because that Pioneer it's cheaper. It's because they run and run and run and all DJs know how to work with. That's the only reason why club owner buy Pioneer, they doesn't care if you have blue, green or yellow buttons or if it come from Japan, China or Thailand.
I find it strange with so prolific variety of Dj's the biggest names in Techno are women, like--if you did not know then you will be surprised, and it is f&£#@ hot 🔥
B-b-but where's the equality then...?
Carl Cox promotes every mixer coming out!!!! I thought he used the Model 1
@@djmattplay I think Cox -- no disrespect intended here -- just takes a lot of paid promotion opportunities. He was mixing on an S8 for a while and playing on CDJs. For a guy at his level, it doesn't seem unusual or out of place to me, even if it is a little commercial to my taste
6 channels suit perfectly for 3 SC6000 🎛️🎛️🎛️🎚️🎚️🎚️🎚️🎚️🎚️
34 bit... my mixer is only 24bit... Planning for the future?
And probably like most of the peopleplaying mp3s on it .It is imposible to buy 24 bit recording from beatport, don't even start with 34 bit :D Most of Djs should start from losseles audio first
A 6 channel mix is unnecessary for most djs. We need quality 4-channel with the possibility of software configuration - effects, etc. And especially quality at a low price.
so..........
model 1
Pioneer really hates dnb djs you never see them on their channel
Just marketing Bro
I just wait for the moment, when most DJs and Producers hold the audio level arround /under -0dB. Than we can talk abbout dynamics and audio quality.
the delivery time is a shame from pioneer this time world wide, waiting time at least 2 months..
Hahaha - Typicaly Pioneer, bigger publicity than product features.
.
After nearly 15 Years with Pioneer DJ products can i allow myself to express this opinion. I was a big Pioneer fan but this stoped with a DJM & CDJ 2000 - My experience:
.
"hello nexus, goodbye quality" - "play on Pioneer, be a poor man" - "rather produce a lot of crap, instead of some good products"
.
Admittedly, this mixer has a high standard - but high is not the highest. Even if you finally managet it after many, many years to engage a DJ legend like Carl Cox for your high-gloss ad, you are not automatically musician friendly (money corrupts).
.
Shame on you pioneer shame on you !!!
.
Ps. Maybe Mr. Cox has something with the disproportionate price of the mixer to do ???
Its an improved Model 1
Carl Cox = CC = 33 =
how do you handle 6 channels omg
Just like how you handle 4 channel.. nowadays it's all just a showoff anyway they still play only 2 or 3 tracks at a time 😜
Best to set up a 2nd mortgage now then. As usual Pioneer is overpriced.
1:38 зрачки у чувака эмдемэашные )))
These guys are ripping off the model 1. Lololo
Wanted to add how front where those engineers Over at allen&heath to incorporate a 4band eq now craponeer add it to a 5k mixer and its digital.
Who ever got this mixer took the jab as well and that says alot in it self.
No high end dj owns this.
Trust me most use a

Or

And now an orbit in their studio free time not payed time where craponeer pays big bucks to these people.

is good mixer but i don`t like 4 band eq. ok is studio mixer. do it same mixer with 4 ch 3 band eq.kill and x-fader customise for dj set one knob button multi set point is difficult ? why efx order is not customise for dj prefer. when invent a new efx i can download it this efx. i pay everybody pay is money€€. the rest is perfect mixer. thanks.and i change my djm2000
smh xone 92 is £1000 nowdays just cop one of those
listen pioneer ive bought the 300 the 600 and the 800 mixers , do i or do i not deserve an offered v10 like these ones that are talking about it . i bet that they never ever bought a pioneer mixer , and i can talk very well about your products . ps; i also have an rmx100. best regards
2,990.00€ HA HA HA HA
Personally have never seen the appeal of pioneer mixers, I can see that it would be good for back2back sets like shown but the rest is just...meh
Haha so what it bas 6 channels? If except of James Hype no one could play on six decks so commercial... And again " is a game changer" never and story for adverts😂
Lol...typical Pioneer bullshit! Pioneer made the DJM 1000, years ago.....
