Christmas traditions are always interesting to me. In our home, we play ‘hide the chicken.’ Of all our traditions, it’s the most enjoyed and the most unfounded as there is no Christmas symbolism or holiday tradition tied to the game. It’s not a Christmas chicken… it’s just a stuffed chicken… and we hide it everywhere… all december. It’s been in the flour, it’s been in the Christmas tree, stuffed into a nativity, it’s been found in the sleeve of my husband’s coat, in my son’s backpack… who ever finds it, must then hide it. That’s the game.
It all started, as a result of 2 separate events. My husband once tossed a pair of socks across our bedroom, and instead of making a basket in the bin, the socks landed in my open bag of Doritos. I reached in, found socks… and proceeded to hide the socks in places my husband would find them and be reminded. It was a short lived game- but we laughed about it now and then. Secondly, my 3 year old son and I were out Christmas shopping and came across a random stuffed chicken. It was really quite cute. We didn’t need it & it was an expense I didn’t budget for (small family, limited funds), so my son and I reasoned out how to justify bringing this silly, cute chicken home, instead of a Christmas item. We decided that we would replace the ‘socks in random places game,’ with the ‘chicken in Christmas places game.’ It became an instantly engaging, humorous, and intensely competitive game. We have played it for 12 years now & will play it again next December.

I've got a Food Heist for you... Well OK, I am _confessing_ to a Food Heist for you from back when I was in primary school.
During break on the playground there would be a teacher in charge and she would generally lean back on the railings drinking her coffee, when she was finished she would give her empty mug to a child to run it up to the staff room for her. Now I got into the habit of hanging around on my lonesome near this teacher at the railings so that I would be given this task. It became clear pretty quickly that this is why I spent my break time lurking around near her so I received this task quite often. It may have seemed a lot like I was sucking up to my teacher and being a real brown noser but I had a nefarious hidden purpose. You see the staff room I mentioned was not a place for the staff to hang around in, it was more of a store room that had a sink and brewing up area but it was also where the tuck shop supplies were stored. The tuck shop was just some boxes of assorted chocolate bars and crisps (chips) that would be sold early in the day to the kids for their pocket money. So most lunch breaks I would try to get 'volunteered' to go put the teacher's empty mug in the sink and while I was there I would steal 1 or 2 Chomp bars from the box as a bonus.
So there's my confession, my sin, my pre-adult Food Heist for which I was never caught nor suspected. Can adults be sent to Food Heist Prison for heists committed as a child? I manipulated my way around security on multiple occasions by taking advantage of an older woman's trust to steal food and was never even caught. What would be my theoretical status in Food Heist Prison?
I could occasionally be really devious as a kid, when I was even younger I got my little sister in trouble as an experiment. You see she is dyslexic and had a habit of writing backwards when she was learning to write. I had a thought and carried it through just to see if it would work... it did. I got a thick red felt tip pen and wrote her name backwards on the wallpaper. Well, it was not a work of art and I got bored before finishing the whole thing. It was pretty sloppy, just as you'd expect of a child of either of our ages. But it worked, our parents saw it and immediately knew that she was responsible for it. I was so proud of how I'd tricked them that I immediately confessed to them that it was actually me but they didn't believe me. The subject came up several times and I still said it had been me but they never believed it. Eventually it was mostly forgotten (though that graffitied wallpaper was up there for a good few years) and we were all adults when they finally accepted that it was in fact me, my Dad even told this story during his speech at my sister's wedding.

Christmas Food Heist for you. I work in Palliative care. I watch people die. Over the holidays we are short staffed so I call out for agencies to send us more staff, like a temp. This one temp must have been planning this for months. The long con was unreal.
We usually keep lots of soft healthy snacks around for the patients. Things like soft cheeses, muffins, jello or fruit. One night over the holidays I get this new temp. I notice they don't seem to have any clue how to do the job. Not much interest in learning either. It should have seen this for the red flag it was. This night I had a giant bowl of bananas on my desk for the patients. There is at least 6 bananas in there, likely more. So half way through my shift I go on a break for 30 minutes. I have to go to a different floor to get a coffee so I tell the temp to watch out for call bells and showed them how to page me if someone moves on.
When I come back I found something unbelievable. The entre bowl of bananas was gone! I ask them what happened to the bananas and they said they didn't know. I checked the garbage can beside the desk where they were sitting and you wouldn't believe it. At least a half dozen banana peels. I asked if they ate the bananas and they said that they hadn't. Genuis knew exactly where to sit to avoid the security cameras so I'll never be able to pin it on them.

10-card Magic sounds a bit like this little card game called Mindbug (Richard Garfield also did some work on that). The cards are all pretty OP, but it's balanced by no deck construction (the two decks are randomly dealt from a shared deck) and the really fun Mindbug mechanic.
So each player has two Mindbugs to use, and whenever the opponent plays a card, you can use a Mindbug to just take that card and use whatever effect it has

A couple of rules notes for the Magic segment:
The symbol that looks kinda like a ticket is a ticket, not a sticker - tickets are currency used to purchase the good stickers (P/T or abilities). I've not dug out the full rules for them, so I don't know how long tickets stick around for if you don't spend them.
Triple Strike is First Strike, regular damage and Last Strike. Which works like you'd expect, except that the rules team decided it was too much work to implement Last Strike properly, so it's up to players to make it work - either there's some subtle problem with having a third damage step, or it was considered to be an unnecessary complication to add for just a handful of cards.
Disclaimer: while I used to be a qualified "Rules Advisor", that lapsed a while back (around Return to Ravnica?) and I've not followed the game since around Tarkir, so, while I've done limited spot research on the specific things mentioned - and I was around and active when Triple Strike was introduced - I may be missing necessary context that may change some of the nuances and make details of my answers incorrect.

Magic was, briefly, acutally a Christmas tradition for us because someone back in December of 93 picked up a starter deck and Arabian Nights pack as a stocking stuffer for everyone in the family and, while I was home from college for Christmas, we all played. We didn't really deck build, it was kind of a "you get what you got, make it work" sort of thing, but we allowed limited trading and strictly enforced "ante cards" (a random card from your deck was removed before play as the potential prize for winning). Eventually I graduated and stopped coming home, and our cards got sold off to the local game store, so I haven't played in MUCH longer than Dan, but this all fits together perfectly. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!

Then I feel similar to Dan, where the first few years you're caught between your families. Their houses, and traditions. Once you have kids then it's onto making your own traditions or some sort of merger of yours and your spouses.

Jefferson Bourbon also does a similar practice. They take their normal barrels of bourbon and put them on a boat for an extra year of aging as the boat goes around the globe.
The claim is the rocking of the boat creates a different flavor profile. All it really does is create an overpriced bourbon that is pretty much garbage.

We always did Christmas Eve as the main celebration for the nuclear family, and grandparents and everyone else for lunch/dinner Christmas Day. I’m 25 now and I still enjoyed staying up late on Christmas Eve building the Lego set I got. (This year it was a bonsai tree)

It was Nessie. Nessie stole the gin. Or one of Nessie's cousins, probably some local sea monster who was tired of Fish Group using his property. No doubt he had family or friends over for the holidays and decided to crack it open--payment for the use of his real estate.

There was a creature called "Extremely Slow Zombie" from the Unstable set which had Last Strike. It dealt its damage after creatures without last strike.
When this came out people were talking about what would happen if it was given Double Strike, and someone from WotC confirmed it would deal 3 lots of damage. This was nicknamed Triple Strike.
So yes, Triple Strike is (as you correctly guessed) Double Strike with another damage step afterwards.
