A movie about male oppression, but when the chips are down - it's women and children first, men were expendable.

@@cmc5394oparva Yeah. Actually I think they've always hated boys, just look at how they changed school to make it hostile to them. But the phrase "women and girls" is concerning because "women and children" is typically used in the context of crisis, when people's lives are in danger.
So the fact that boys are now excluded from the groups deemed to be worth saving, says a lot. And I think I've seen it used by some powerful people/organizations, not just random activists.

The women are stronk in this movie. Honestly if I see younger Hollywood actors these days I just cringe. The woke inexperienced boring snowflake vibe just radiates off of them. Whether its Tom Holland playing Uncharted, Alicia Vikander in Tombraider, Daisey Ridley.... just look at that annoying face!...It just comes off as fake and wannabe while everybody can see they lack the talent, experience and skill and have earned jack shit, but hey you got the right political philosophy. I half expect them each time to whine about the need of a cry closet. I also haven't watched any new film/tv series since The Haunting of Hillhouse. And I don't see the need with the humbug that is produced ever since.

Why is it that they seem to constantly get so many important and relevant facts wrong, which usually ends up pissing off major portions of the few remaining fans they got left, and who grow more weary with each new release?
Yet knowing that this happens to be true... absolutely undeniable and yet despite them actually possessing such a keen awareness of what it is that they keep screwing up so badly in each new successive streaming series or movie they produce, what is it we see??
That they CLEARLY don't give a flying, two headed, three
tailed, glowing neon Indigo colored RAT'S FAT RUNNY ASSHOLE about what ANY of the so called "legacy" fans think, care about or what they even actually want to see for that matter! And how do they prove this fact week after week, after month after year??
By COMPLETELY IGNORING ANY and ALL attempts to offer Constructive Criticism, or well thought out and carefully considered analysis on what they are and keep fundamentally getting wrong, what they should have done to begin with and what they should stop doing and stay away from in the future... It is all ignored, we are Slandered and attacked for it and then they turn around AND DO THE SAME DAMN THING ALL OVER AGAIN!

If Hollywood hadn't decided to go Full Maoist and set about to obliterate western culture with its queer Frankenstein, Ridley would have fit right in to a Shakespearean film production like "Much Ado About Nothing," playing the role of Beatrice, or Cleopatra in "Antony and Cleopatra." She'd never have been a superstar, but could have built a pretty good CV doing indy Oscar bait like Emma Thompson or Gwyneth Paltrow did in the 90s.

I genuinely pity Daisy Riddley. It wasn't her fault that disney star wars terrible; indeed, her portrayal of Rey was actually one of less awful parts. But obviously, Rey in particular and disney star wars in general is terrible, and now Daisy Riddley is saddled forever with being the face of the films that helped kill the formerly most profitable movie franchise in history. And she didn't even get paid all that well for the job. So Daisy Riddley's career is probably screwed before it even got started thanks to the incompetence of disney and The Fabulous Miss Kathy Kennedy [TM].

Personally I can't stand Daisey Ridley, and I know I'm not the only one. She cannot act, Chris, unless she's acting like a victim or superior to everyone else...and that's not acting, it's her being her. Her career has gone nowhere because she is trash at her job, this was KK pulling string to get her name out there again because 'they think' it's going to make all 'her fans' excited for a new Rae movie. Don't forget Mark Hamill was in Sam Fuller's Big Red One in 1980. Which now has been designated as one of the great war films in movie history. Unfortunately it wasn't a big hit at the box office which is why most people don't know about it anymore.

I have to be flat out honest.
If the dialogue is as you stated.
this may actually be a prime candidate for changing the tone by changing the music,
to fit a comedy. (like a classical comedy where someone goes stating pompous or clearly untrue or misguided things, while a jester or some other plays comedic music and odd face gestures while they say such things. it would fit classical Disney tones of older film styles is the best part lol.)

Ok, so Gertrude Ederle broke several world records from the time she was 12 and won olympic gold and bronze at 18. I can't imagine a lot of men in her life telling her that women can't swim.

Did they advertise this thing ? I had no idea until I saw you and Alan were reviewing it. Daisy is very sweet but she is never going to be a big draw. She needs to fire her agent.

Gotta love that Gore interrupts and says Muana is supposed to be a tv show but is converted to a movie and is being made in Canada… not sure what that means or why that needed to be said and the interruption causes the cohost to forget what he was trying to say…. And gore laughs and blames him for losing his train of thought

Y'know.....even though I have no interest in a film like this, it's disappointing to me that something like this does so badly and attracts such negative attention because I personally like Ridley and wish she had better success outside the awful Star Wars stuff that unfortunately dragged her down with it. To me she seems like a cool person who isn't trying to push their agenda, she just worked with what she got. She seems like a solid enough actress and she's still young and attractive, to me she should be along a similar path as Anya Taylor-Joy or even Kiera Knightly.
Hopefully she gets cast in a good series or something, something more contemporary/grounded. Or if she landed a part in a Tarantino film before he calls it quits. Obviously you have to get work when you can especially as an actress as your window is so small, but to me she deserves better. Yeah, the idea of another Star Wars movie with her is eye-rolling, but I cant blame her as much as I despise the movies.
