    Love your voice, style and teachings. I love that you let the wire determine where to go, not sticking to a particular model but caring a lot about technique. I did that with my first piece and it resulted in a something that looked like a chameleon when held horizontally and totally a swan vertically. I couldn’t have designed it on paper first. I would never have thought of it. It just happened. Thanks for your great videos and lots of success to you !

      Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I think we all go through that stage of just doing freehand stuff especially when we're still learning new techniques. But as time passes, we become more strategic in our movements because we already have the techniques in our mental library. I hope these tutorials help and for this new year, I'll be making more. :)

    You are talented sis. I have always been a visual learner and have taught most of what I know from taking things apart or by trying it and just figuring out.     That’s the way I was taught to make swirls. The round nosed pliers will make marks on the wire, whereas the flat nosed will not.

      Self taught meaning I didn't go to jewelry school or did any classes. It was only through watching some videos, asking my fellow wire wrappers, and tons of experimentation.

      Thank you so much. Usually, when I hook stuff, I just crimp the wire to itself. But to practice it, you can just wrap the ends maybe twice around the frame before starting your swirl. :)

      Sorry I misread ur comment. It's a copper wire that's been oxidized and polished. 😅
      It was a mix of different ones but mainly what I normally use. 16ga frame, 20ga and 22ga round/square base wires, 28ga weaving wires, 18 and 22ga half rounds.

      @@jtnovathey're basically bare copper wire that have been oxidized with liver of sulfur and then polished. I buy my wires at Riogrande
