  • Check out this detailed explanation and demo of both how the Dynamis Blade functions and its key features. This was a collaboration with Dom Raso (CEO of @Dynamisalliance) and Daniel Winkler (Master blade smith). The result was a full size extremely functional concealable blade. Dom Raso made it a point to listen to all end user feedback and dump it into this blade and its features. With turning that over to Daniel winkler, he nailed it. Check out the video!!

    I've looked at this for a while and thought it was over priced because for the money there's a lot of other stuff I can get and use everyday. However I put it off for a while and finally pulled the trigger. You have to hold it in your hands to appreciate it. It's light but SOLID and razor sharp. The sheath is the best out there for a CCW and the balance is incredible. I will save up and buy another to put back for a rainy day. I wouldn't put a price on my life either, this tool will be there when I need it.

    a blade doesn't need to be reloaded, doesn't run out of ammo, doesn't malfunction/misfire, and is quiet.

    I've seen other videos where Dom goes into more detail about the nuances of this knife. Every edge and contour was thought out. It is awesome, and offers more than meets the eye, but I can't afford a $500 knife on a LEO's salary. I know a lot of cops, and I can only think of one of them who might consider buying a $500 knife. That one cop is the master knife instructor (a guy that certifies other cops to become knife instructors) for the whole state. As well-designed as this knife is, should it cost more than a Glock?
    If this knife seems worth it to you then power on, but cheaper alternatives would be KA-BAR TDI Knives - $40-75 (depending on size).

      Get a Benchmade SOCP Dagger and trainer for $100 or so. It's used by US Army SF.

    Dom, I've been on the fence for sometime. My question and I hope you can articulate the pros and cons of both the single edge vs the the double edge. I believe in research and asking questions then buying and crying once.
    Brother thanks for your time and consideration to the topic.

    • @azn1stknightsoul1
      @azn1stknightsoul1 9 років тому +3

      Double edge gives you more cutting edge so forward stroke or backwards stroke can deliver cuts. The single edge exists due to some locations having laws against carrying a double edged knife.
      (Yes, I know I am not the Dom you were hope for, but I saw this and thought I could explain it to my understanding)

    • @azn1stknightsoul1
      @azn1stknightsoul1 9 років тому +1

      Steve Mixson Oh and double edge knives tend to penetrate deeper using the same amount of force compared to the exact same blade but single edge.

    • @allaspects1749
      @allaspects1749 9 років тому +1

      When fighting a single edge blade theoretically reduces the effective strikes you can deliver by a third. Rather than being able to thrust and also cut in both directions you are limited to cutting in one direction only unless you can roll the hand over. A single edge blade is easier to strip (disarm) from the spine side, does not penetrate as well etc. In a tight clinch or ground grappling where you may have little ability to move your limb to cut the knife will always have a sharp edge close to to threat in order to cut them off you.

    Def well thought out design! One of the most innovative fighting knives I have ever seen with combatives in mind. made by arguably the best custom knife maker dan winkler though I cannot afford this I think it is VERY reasonably priced. how much is your life worth.

    • @allaspects1749
      @allaspects1749 9 років тому +3

      You say it's reasonably priced yet you can't afford it? This is a knife that is marketed as a viable EDC/SD blade (which it clearly is) yet the price tag makes it a niche knife only attractive to SEAL tacti-cool groupies and knife collectors or people with money to throw around. I got a brand new WKII full sized blade for $400 so how is this smaller knife and an aluminum trainer worth $600? Not all WKII knives are even made personally by Dan anymore as he couldn't keep up with orders after the book No Ordinary Day hit the shelves so you are now paying for the Winkler brand but the knife you receive may have been made by someone else entirely who isn't a master blade smith. I'd also argue a set design from which hundreds or thousands of copies are manufactured is no longer a "custom" knife. Don't get me wrong I love Dan's work, his designs and excellent customer service and paid out for my WKII as will outlast me but in this case I think the knife is overpriced and should be around half the price they are asking. I guess they'd rather sell 1000 blades at $600 a set than 10000 at $300 because they simply can't make enough fast enough.

  • @allaspects1749
    @allaspects1749 9 років тому +1

    Looks like a excellent blade but selling for $600 due to the Winkler branding is steep. If you are gonna design a EDC edged weapon self defense system then make it affordable to the average person. I'd realistically be willing to pay $300 max for that knife and trainer. Only SEAL groupies or knife collectors are gonna be willing to pay $600 for this knife. You can get a Benchmade SOCP dagger and training blade that will do the job for self defense purposes for a sixth of the price.

      ***** i make knives Justin. As Well as teach combatives. My reviews on high end blades can be found on here.. with all that said, I like the knife! I also know How much it cost to make.. these are about 200, 150 at the least over priced.. I'm sure they will sell a fee though. Nice blade.. but not as many as they would at a better price point..
