I have bought my LG tv 3 years ago, and just now I have known how to use my remote. I had problems with the back button as it wasn't working, and how has the cursor appeared. I have tried so many video to show me how to fix these problems and more others and only this video has solved the whole problems I had and showed me a lot I didn't know about. Thanks you very much. Highly appreciated👍👍
A genuinely useful video for anyone who needs a clear informative guide on the functions offered by the LG remote. It always amazes me how poor the documentation is that manufacturers provide with their products.
@@CheckAG Bought a new tv yesterday with magic remote - this is a great video explaining the remote. However, what are the red/green/yellow/blue buttons?
Team AJ, you are the man!! I was on the official LG website explaining that my remote could not change channels and they replied to buy a new remote. It's a brand new 5 day old TV. Your solution in the comments on how to pair it to the set top box worked great. Here is the post in case anyone else has this problem. Team AJ 2 months ago Are you using cable tv?...if so go to settings / all settings / connection / device connector / set-top box / click on reset device....after that follow the steps to setup again
@Samsung Worldwide I'm not an expert so try this remedy that I referenced in my comment: Are you using cable tv?...if so go to settings / all settings / connection / device connector / set-top box / click on reset device....after that follow the steps to setup again See if this works.
I have been using the Magic Remote for a week or so now and I find it a bit small and the small input keys are rather close together. Until you know where the various buttons are located, I was fumbling around since they are not backlit like on my Logitech remote. I found myself tilting the surface of the remote towards the TV, hoping to catch enough light to see what the heck I was pushing. I do like the cursor, but it is annoying until you learn how to activate and hide it. It does have CEC, so I can use it for volume control with my A/V receiver. Someone asked about the colored buttons: They are activity buttons and will often be used as an option within, say, Netflix or Amazon to add/delete a show or movie to/from your Watchlist (for example).
This was a really helpful video. Thank you. Only problem is, I was really wondering what the red, green, yellow, blue buttons were for. You mention where they were, but not what they were for. I'm assuming they are some sort of programmable buttons, but can't find my instructions to figure that out. But thank you for the rest of the video,. It was helpful.
RED: EXIT (closes the menu on the TV) GREEN: INFO (displays information about the TV such as the resolution) YELLOW: BROADCAST (switches the TV broadcast type) BLUE: INPUT (switches the TV input)
Set up new TV today and struggling to find info on using the remote. Thank you for this video - all is now clear, well explained ... and I'm ready to go!
Great video, was surprised there was no LG explanation of its remote control amongst the paperwork! Quick access for apps is great. My 43” tv has the “old” remote & has an info button which I use often but it isn’t on the smart remote so I have to access info via the guide - any other way?
Hey what are those coloured buttons at the end for? And a huge thank you to you for making this video. I legit had no idea that I could assign apps to the numbers. That's a very handy thing!
The bit of paper [4x6- 2 pages back-to-back] with mine is so small as to be unreadable. Complete lack of information on how to use the magic controller
Video was very helpful, I Kane the LG 43UN7300PUF TV. It's great, can't wait for my internet subscription coming soon. Thank you for your intuitive tutorial.
I just got this remote today and it's a nice remote. The only thing missing for me is the button on the standard LG remote that let's you flick between the radio and TV channels. I've added the radio app to the quick access buttons, but would be nice for that button to have remained on the magic remote, was a nice feature
Could you please address the Red, Green, Yellow, and Blue buttons? I can't seem to record shows, IN PROGRESS, with my magic remote, which I really like, and wonder if the magic in doing so, is in those colored buttons perhaps?
This is a very helpful video. Thank you. But I watched all the way to the end hoping to get an answer to my main question: How to use the red, green, yellow, and blue buttons. Why did you stop there?
Thank you for the tutorial, it easy to handle the remote after viewing your video. It was way better than reading all the instructions LOL. I have not been able to figure out how to replace the cable company's remote for the original one from LG. I only want to have one remote on hand.
Thanks a lot mate for a crisp video. I was struggling to certain channels to the buttons on remote without any luck. U covered that part right at the beginning. Thanks a ton. Wanted to know about these color buttons. What's their use and can we hard program them for channels. Pls do revert if possible. Thanks once again
Question?? I noticed you are able to controll your virgin media through you LG smart controller. I cant seem to get the LG smart controller to successfully connect with the set top box. Could you please educate us on how to link the virgin user interface with the LG remote. Virgin media claims its not possible but what I see here says it is. Nice video thanks.
I have an LG OLED C2 EVO and when i turn the TV off a White light comes on at bottom of TV when it should be red. I have an AVR and BT box pro. They all go to stand by. Do i have two double tap the off button and hold for 3 seconds. Thanks again for information.

Hi, is the remote control only infrared so i have to point the remote directly to tv or is it also bluetooth so i can press buttons without having to point it directly to tv like the Samsung Smart Remote? thanks
I am minutes away from ordering the 65 inch BX. But there is one thing that concerns me as I read some critical posts in amazon and other reviews: There seem to be no dedicated fast forward/backward buttons. What I would need is to jump like 10 seconds ahead with one simple click when watching an mp4/avi/mpeg video from my usb drive. 1. Is that possible by using the arrows left and right to the wheel? 2. Does this bring up a menu at the button that will disappear automatically but only after like 5 seconds or so, because that would ruin the experience. 3. What would be the intended way respectively the alternative? I do not want to to go a submenu and fiddle around with the mouse pointer. My 8 and 10 year old Samsung TVs provide not only the buttons but this simple feature so I was surprised that this is even an issue. Apart from that this would be the perfect TV for me.
hi, thanks for the instructional video, I've got a slight hiccup, the other day the voice activation button was fine, when I pressed it, a microphone icon appeared on the tv, and I simply asked the tv to change the channel to another channel, and it did fine, but now when I press the same microphone button, I get 4 colored dots on the bottom left screen and it appears to be connecting to google chrome? I think. it types on screen what I say but it doesn't do anything until put my postcode in? didn't have to do this before, can you help. please. cheers
