i just love that people always go with the "you have no friends" if you beat them or are good at a game. When in this day and age that it couldnt be farther from the truth considering playing games is now one of the most social aspects you can do. Cracks me up

Lao definitely adds a lot to Shang, but personally I've been pairing him with Goro. Goro's Raise The Roof is super + on block and it's an ambush, so with good timing you can make even make the launching B12 + if blocked. It also opens up more combo routes. Omelette toss adds a mindgame to B223 where if they block low they get thrown (or you're safe with last hit of b223) and you get a combo and if they block high they get knocked down and you're +40 or so. They have to either jump or stand block if they think you're gonna throw. Stomp's good for added screen control and with the right timing you can lock them down with double/triple skull to guarantee it. Also, it's STOMP. Punchwalk's just...alright, some extra chip and it does decent damage on its own or as an ender. Leaves them at a distance too. Overal Lao might be the most solid pick simply cause low hat is really good right now, but I enjoy Goro despite his higher risk

Sareena good to do starting string (since shangs is really long) back+kameo twice then do starting string into ground erupt+4 end with needle stab 46% meterless
You don’t need to get in, make them come to you, Shang has projectile advantage Vs a lot of characters
@@AF0xyGrampa Fair enough, but kameos do give you that option if you want it. And with certain kameos being in the game, proj trades may often not work in your favour if you try to keep them out. Suppose that's the beauty of the game though!
I've only played Shang and I'm big time struggling. No advancing strings and Young has almost nothing to stagger. I understand he's primarily a zoner but man the neutral game is tough with him. Glad to see you playing him though!

@@kingofdragons7 he kind of is in his young stance? Slightly.
His old stance is great for poking and getting combo's started. In young stance you really need the right Kameo to get any combo's started. I tend to use Sonya to convert 2,4 or b1,2 into full combo's. Getting max damage you'll need to know how to properly morph into old/young for extensions. I tend to use his young version for keep out. He has a decent overhead (f3), and a great anti-air (bed of spikes) which he can get a full combo off in the corner (2,4 -> bed of spikes leads to a full juggle once you morph into old shang).
Old Shang has great spacing/footsies, and combo starters/enders. F3 has good range and gets you in. f4 is a great combo starter, same for 2,4.
I've only dabbled with him a little, but he has good potential. The Kameo will make all the difference and will allow for different setups. His ability to morph into other characters has barely been touched but i've seen some sick stuff already. It's still early. Keep experimenting and trying out different things.

I’ve been waiting for someone with skill to show me why Shang is good. I find it difficult to get any good combos other than the standard one while he’s old.

Dude, Shang Tsung is not easy to play at all if your not spaming fireballs it's hard to win against fast players like smoke or mileena that also has teleport and when he's in the old form you'll miss the ground fireballs most of the time leaving you open for combos
Facts. If you don’t spam fireballs with him you will simply lose. Gotta condition.

hoping its more in line with shirai ryu takeda, was his most fun variation in mkx imo. wouldnt be too mad if he had the ronin setups again or the super flashy shit that lasher did.

The irony of using Kung Lao with Shang Tsung is hilarious.
Highly suggest trying out Sektor with Shang. He allows shang to combo into both stancss and lets him combo off of his ex injection which can lead to massive damage.
I play Shang as well, I use subzero mostly with Shang because the shoulder charge makes unsafe strings more safe, and the freeze gives me better combos and I can zone waaaay more with the projectile immunity.. I tried kung Lao pair up and didn’t know he had that set up
Love seeing the Shang tsung. I’ll definitely have to text him with Kung Lao sounds very interesting. You should try using his air fire ball in his old version. It really added a lot of versatility for his zoning to me

I liked the character and its combos but I still want them to add the soul stealing brutality or the character as a lameo and a soul stealing fatality to the kameo, a lot if iconic fatalities but shang tsung lost its iconic soul stealing

@@just_2swift I don't like mix when it's easy and deosn't require a resource or setup. He needed the knockdown and kameo to set that up. Zato needs a hard knockdown to setup eddie and his mix in guilty gear. You need an assist in a blockstring to set up mix or off a lvl 3 hardknock down in DBFZ. In MKX you just do a normal and get mix because so many characters have low/overhead starters, thats kinda free. There was only a handful of 50/50 characters in MK11 so not too big a deal.
Shangs Combos looks damn fine dude.

I thought kenshi was gonna be the most technical playstyle,,but shang just came along😂
Instead of always going for the known metered long combo with both ground fireballs I save the meter for enhanced injection when I'm more familiar with the opponents character and enhanced moves that carry good damage since his morph will give +damage. I've tried to switch up more between old/young to keep them guessing even though I do most the fighting in old.

the kung lao set up is amazing. i do like serena with shang though because i feel as if she is basic enough to work with the whole cast. shang steals a body and then i can combo with the entire cast thanks to serena (and more) you dont steal anyones body so lao is deffo bettee as a solo shang

You want people to block your stuff, that way you can rotate options your characters supposed to be using

how do u level up ur character mastery quickly ik u definitely know something i seen ur already profile lvl 95
Profile level is easy. I got mine working on character mastery. All you gotta do is whatever character you want to grind go into invasions and put every stat point into Attack. You can reset stats at the Wu Shi Academy stage in the shop keep in mind they are limited but they refresh. Go to an endurance fight with 3 enemies and finish with flawless & brutalities.
He is definitely top.tier. considering he can morph to opponent if suitable
