So pretty much everyone else uses Magic and weapons while Reiko is just a straight ufc fighter

Exactly. You have to play around the enemy character. It is only broken to players that don't understand their opponent or how to play around it. Know yourself know your enemies and you need not fear the outcome of a thousand battles. Its easy to call something broken when you dont know what it does and refuse to adapt/ play around what it is and just expect to do the same thing you have always done and expect it to work when in this case it doesnt
@@rodtack8420 That obvious bro,but if you can do 50% combo since you hit ur enemy,that literally a full life bar with 2 hits, that's not about knowing your opponent or knowing your hero etc,even if you know all raiden moves,you just will get staggered sooner or later,and as the raiden hit pass - you lose 50% guaranteed ) He need nerf,im not telling he is super OP,but it just not interesting to play when you lose full bar with 2 hits you know
Raiden is so broken, 40%-50% combos every time he catches someone offguard

@@Cutthroat__that’s on u, Raiden’s top tier, he does Kenshi levels of damage but with way less input difficulty, and is on the faster side too, easily top tier for now.
I think (and this is my take my bad) is the Kameos. They extend combos slightly but I can see Raiden and co. making up some wild @$$ $hit here and there. Been a few days, they'll nerf characters left and right (maybe including Kameos too but I don't know yet. Been out for a couple days) after some deliberation or two. Or I'm wrong and I'm an idiot for saying $hit I have zero right in saying. Much love and respect.

For reiko to be the “grappler” and I love me grapplers he doesn’t give “don’t wanna get grabbed” feel. Like you wanna be scared to be grabbed but his normals are more scary than his grab and it’s a high. Spending 2 meters just for that 20 percent when raiden can do more with no bar is wild 😭
Exactly with reiko u have to control the pace and fight with his normals and distance control

Rewind singlehandedly made me want to play Reiko, he lacks damage a bit but looks so fun. You also made Raiden look amazing though!

@@lilalvi10 you just don't know how to play the game. I've gotten far with every last character but the toughest was general shao. Others have gotten him far though so I'd say everything is alright.

@@j_hitta0591 Reiko’s buttons have good enough range that he doesn’t need them lmao, his kit has everything he needs to succeed on top of some good grabs
It's honestly so disappointing that Reiko cannot use his spear in his moveset when he shows it off in the selection screen
Felt the same about Bi Han/Sub-Zero not using more spear attacks beyond his slide. The spine and skull he uses as an improvised flail is cool, though. Reiko, meanwhile, fights less like a career soldier and more like a pit fighter.
It's bi Han, not the sub zero we know from the last few games . It's noobsaibot , they are restarting the series again and scorpion is the subzero we know and love .

Combos are not everything. Reiko's command grab and projectiles are just ridiculous

Tbh ninja isn't losing too much. Rewind was one of the few players who could keep up with him in mkx, and we can see ain't nothing changed but the game lol

I like how everyone has a unique fighting style with a little bit of realism to it. Raiden straight up does traditional kung fu, Reiko does wrestling with a little bit of MMA, Johnny cage does kickboxing. Mk1 is looking very promising & that Reiko suit is goated.
Wrestling with mma? My guy half of mma is Wrestling. The double leg takedown is a staple in all grappling arts.

Brings a tear to my eye seeing Raiden actually do some good damage. My optimal kombo for him in MK11 was like 31 percent😂
Cant quite place my finger on it. But something about being able to use Jax twice in a 40-50% raiden combo feels wrong
Around 18:00 he starts a combo while the dude is 70% and ends the round. I didn’t it was possible to juggle 70% that was insane I wonder if that’s the highest possible dmg combo in the game
Reiko just needs a damage buff and he’ll be competing. I really hope they don’t nerf Raiden though 😂

Raiden is getting nerfed. There’s no chance in hell he stays how he currently is. He has too much damage and speed and doesn’t need to spend any resources or put himself in any danger as well as having more range than most because he advances a lot on his strings
This video shows that just because a character can do big damaged it doesn’t mean that it’s a automatic win. Reiko those less damaged then Raiden and was still able to win and fight him well and that’s a great thing to see.
Reiko feels like he should get more damage out of his command grabs because it just feels like he's lacking a bunch right now without assist support
His only command grab deals 110 damage, like regular throw, and 210 for 2 bars. Tactical takedown is a low attack, not grab

@@user-fz2ql9ci5eFor example, Kano in mk11 has acid which does dot damage, if opponents are hit with it his command grab does 210 with 1 amped bar
@@j_hitta0591why is it low? There was no grabs, but kotal's in 11, that damages more than usual grabs(without meter) ... Reiko's only issue is scaling, it sucks

Reiko isn’t s tier but he is able to be in A depending on who’s playing him. Command grabs, high damage depending on cameo, strike throw mixups, space control and good projectiles again depending on the cameo can be capitalized on. Reiko is in A tier minimum especially if the one one controlling him knows how to strike command grab AND utilize cameos

I appreciate this upload dude. Not only have I been looking to play Reiko and I needed someone very skilled with him to get some inspiration, but I've also been looking to spice up my Raiden gameplay too. Great fights from the both you ❤
People saying Raiden should be nerfed have not played enough against Baraka and Kenshi,
Chip damage is nothing compared to these guys, they never stop hitting you, at least with Raiden you have a small window to react when he misses
bro deadass lol when I got my sento out and the other guy is blocking im literally hitting them non stop so much chip its insane
@@casiosynchro5249 yep! That's what I'm talking about, the frame difference between kenshi's moves and sento's moves make it so that you never get a turn unless you meter-burn a shield-powered ability
The problem isn't just the chip. It's chip in combination with 50% 1 bar combos that come before and after chip. Why does he get both?

I love how Reiko is a mix of Wrestling, Kick box and a bit of muay. Full Mma whil Johnny is primarly Thai and Kickbox

90s Jax is the best Jax. It makes me laugh everytime he comes out looking like he about to do Tae Bo or somethin xD
Reiko is my main for now and honestly he is kinda awkward to play. Like yeah, he has range on his kicks and has a bery annoying projectile but it's only ever useful to pinish whiffs. Up close though, this character is really difficult to do anything with. His damage is pitiful.

He needs a slight damage buff. Just enough for him to compete with thw other characters like Raiden, Smoke and Johnny. Making his command grabs tick would also be a huge plus.
You can get 330- 370 damage with one bar on his combos. Ex his slide for combo extension
Is he able to combo off his projectile in the corner by chance? If not that kinda sucks for his damage
His attacks are too slow up close too. You can’t get anything off of his pokes because the start up is so slow you’ll get poked back before getting a stand 1 in. He needs at least one string with an overhead in it too to give him decent mix besides his sweep, F2, and the occasional command grab

Man Raidens combos are insane? 40 to 50 percent if pulled off to completion. And they did good with Reiko, preciously one of the most hated mk character. I think he's one of my favorites now. I just love his move sets, it's so brutal.

I feel like reiko might be a little underwhelming? His projectile is really good but his combo potential is really not there. Having to link off a really slow mid attack while characters like sub zero and Raiden can link off an overhead for 30% easy
Nah Reiko’s got great meterless potential. He regularly hits 25-30% off suboptimal counter hits and confirms. Pretty much anything he does leads to 1/4 of your life gone, and more importantly, really good oki.

@@beano_burrito What? This doesn't even make sense if you just use your eyes while playing or watching MK1 fights. Literally, the start of this video a fairly simple string with not a lot of corner time did 48% in 19 hits with 1 bar. at 5:40 it's 41% 17 hits, 1 bar.
Reiko literally doing 17 hit combos, 1 bar, for 35%.
NinjaKilla is a great player that's obvious, but does Ninja pick up Reiko and start dropping almost 50% on 19 hit combos with 1 bar? No.

Reiko is very solid imo, people likely think he isn't good because he just punches kicks and suplexes people but he does have some great tools

I’ve been slapping everyone on Kombat League with a 30/4 Record, my 4 losses are all to Reiko, I just simply don’t have an answer for him, the distance and + frames are just annoying.

So curious to see how they scale damage in this game. On one hand I love being able to do 50%, on the other that might give less than stellar players to close the skill gap.
High damage is fine but it's only acceptable when everyone can do it. I remember when GG Strive came out and the damage was insane. People taking no joke 60%+ given the right situations.
