Dog gone helpful video! This helped me the most, even more than the official product video mainly (but not only) because you mentioned that the Nest Connect was included in the box! Google emphasizes that Connect is required so I have been hunting with frustration online to buy one. I was going to return the lock, but after watching your video, I’m on board! Thank you sir! 😊
Thanks you for this simple and detailed instructions for the installation and the review of the product. I just ordered one and looking forward to get it😊
How to differentiate the left handed door and right handed door? I purchased 2 different tyle of yale locks but both not working on right handed door, only work on left handed door, called yale tech support but they don''t seem to know
To my understanding, the range extender thing IS required since it’s what your lock “talks” to your internet/router with. (I use my iPhone on mine. I’ve been using the Nest app)
It’s getting just enough resistance to trigger the device to back off from locking. (The deadbolt is hitting your strike plate off center) Try to adjust your strike plate slightly, or even take it off for a lock cycle to test this theory.
Hey, it sounds like you may have had this well over a year by now. Did you ever internet-enable it? i am curious to know if the connectivity is reliable....I have the August Gen 3 and it really sucks over the internet. Even just bluetooth sometimes has issues. Also, how is the battery life?
I still have the original batteries from when I posted the video (and we use the lock 2-3 times per day) We did use the NEST app for the first couple of months to lock and unlock it when we got home or were pulling in, and it worked fine. But we ultimately stopped since it's just as easy to unlock with the keypad 4-digit code (lock you just press 1 button) I have noticed that my outdoor NEST cameras do have some issues with the NEST app. But I'm pretty sure all of these devices including a thermostat can be controlled by the GOOGLE HOME app. I may try it out this weekend.
Besides new batteries which would be a simple fix, the lock should update its software periodically as long as it’s connected to wi-if. If neither one of those is the problem, I would try unplugging the connect and then remove the batteries from the keypad. Then re-install everything. Sorry I don’t have a better solution
This has to be the most thorough video I've ever seen.

Glad I could help!
I came across a problem. My nest app says “unlocked” all the time. I am planning to contact the Nest support
Very helpful installation video. thank you!
Hey you welcome!
Nice video but my lock is installed and my connect is connected. I having issues trying to connect the nest yale lock to the nest connect.

Very helpful video thank you . Does it work with Alexa ?
Hi, great video, does the nest connect white plug need to be really close to the door or can it be several feet away? Thx
Mines is across the room and works just fine
Is it necessary to use the range extender for this lock to work?
Does it work with an iPhone?

Super useful video! I just have one question. Is it able to connect to Amazon Alexa??
Does the amp mention the batteries are getting low and need to be replaced?
Could you help me figure out how to get a lock back online? its been offline for awhile and I can't figure out how to do it.
can you have it set up that it automatically unlocks when you get home?
I’m honestly unsure about that. I don’t recall it being an option though
This is not working at all. I put everything in correctly and the damn blue light is blinking. However, every time I press and hold the app drops.
I can’t get a full lock cycle with the app or the keypad… but I can with my thumb… please help

What app are you using ?
@@Treyday_ I use the “Nest” app for mine
Went I down low the app don’t show the rest of the icons to lock and unlock from mi phone
I use the Nest Home app and it shows the lock, my cameras, and the nest thermostat
Super useful. Thanks for the video.
Thanks!
You skipped the whole set up part in the app which is the one thing I can’t get to work Thanks!
What happened when the batteries die, will I be able to get in?
You take a 9v battery and touch it to the bottom of the lock from the outside. It powers it on so you can unlock it.

@@WesleyAllenNC thanks for the response!
My nest connect doesn’t connext with my yale lock anymore. It has been working for 2 years and now it has stopped. I can’t find the solution.

too bad there is not a finger print option....
Agreed. A biometric pad would be nice
