How to Grind Ryo: Buy about 5000 wooden tags. Take this to the chicken races. The best chickens have more double circles, and an up arrow for their condition. Enter and exit the building a few times until it appears there is a clear winner then buy all of the full ratios. For instance if Chicken number 5 has a really low payout around 2.0 (which means they have an excellent shot at winning), and all the other chickens have a payout of 5.0, purchase the number ratios starting with 5, then buy the 2nd and 3rd numbers you think will win.
Always SAVE before you run the chicken race, otherwise you could lose all your tags. Only save afterwards if you win. I was winning about 25% of the time, and earning around 50,000 wooden tags per win when betting on all categories where it looked evident that I had guessed the top two chickens.

How to increase drop rate for items step two: Equip a Spring in Full Bloom Gun made from Crafting. Also you can get more Greed Crests by upgrading a Quickfire gun. It isn't guaranteed, but essentially you want to save prior to making a Quickfire. Use a hammer that adds an extra slot to the gun. Occasionally you will get a free Greed Crest. Dissemble the gun, and you can attach it to any weapons. If you tried a few times with no luck, bang out some junk equipment with cheap hammers a few times and try again.
I am not sure if the drop rate stack's across equipment types, or if having multiple crests on one weapon is better, but having one of them makes a huge difference when grinding for rare materials below. Obviously save before upgrading the crests as there is a chance you can lose one.
Best place to Grind Materials: Once you unlock Battle Dungeons in Chapter 5, redo 3-20 over and over again for Dragon Whiskers, Fangs, and Eyes. You need 20 of each for the Katana, and 5 Fangs for the gun.

Thanks,Man! Already beaten the game but I always set rule to maxed character skills in these games before moving on to next games. And grinding in this game destroy me. I always forget you can get xp boost from special ammo as well!
I over-leveled in Chapter 1, at Level 40+. Then, I completed most of Another Life at Chapter 5 and all of Wanted Man by around Chapter 8, finished the former at 10 so that I can advance the story, beat up more goons non-stop. Then, abuse the Chicken Racing minigame. Lastly, get Daifukus. As of me writing this comment, I still have 1 style to limit break, currently at level 92.
I don't see how any weapon can be better than my armor breaking poisoned one, and it was the first one I had the materials to make.
