Can I...just send it to you to do? Lol
This is awesome! Between that CW64 cart and this- I think it's time to take one of my 3 N64s out again!
Hey man just wanna say props to you for such a good tutorial and showing us where to get all the stuff for the best price, even tho you sell completed consoles. I did a GBA with the highspeedido kit following your video and it was super straightforward, gonna try this out on my n64
I bought one of these a while ago and it was actually pretty simple to install. It stopped working after a couple weeks though (RGB output still works), so I ordered another but have been too lazy to install it agaain...one day.
Yeah china sucks
Great video as always. 🤘
I guess i would have to see the modded system IRL. Im cautious. Love my N64.
Awesome vídeo Jake. We in Brazil love this budget mod
Glad I came back to your channel, I got drawn by the Jungle Green. Probably won't be hacking that one up, but I would love to make an HDMI Funtastic Grape to have a more modern setup. I'll be coming back here once that happens!

I love the monstercat pfp!
@@Microextent Thank you! They're like the father I never had so naturally, I plaster it everywhere.
Everything works, except for the audio. Sometimes the sound completely stops. Any idea?
What TV resolution is best for this mod?
6:02 you said 720p. I’ll buy a 720p tv and give it a shot.
Thanks! I think it will still look decent at 1080p
Does this mod provide some viewing options? Like does it upscale to 720p with a lot of window or does it fill the screen like an option?
I just need to practise my soldering skills. Also what solder do you use? what is the solder composition? What do you personally recommend for soldering to these old consoles? Any help would be excellent 😊
Hey this wont alowe you to play Pal games on an NTSC console tho. This doesnt make it Region free like you said. Only allows Japanese games to be played on your american console
Can’t you just use a pal to ntsc converter? Don’t know but maybe that works!
Are you sure about that? I know there are differences in the PIF ROM between regions, but I've been able to run european games on my brazilian N64 just fine with my ED64. And before you jump the gun and say "doh, Brazil is PAL region", let me remind you PAL-M is based on System M just like NTSC, it uses the same 525 lines per frame, 60 fields per second as NTSC does, just with the phase alternating line stuff added in and a different color carrier frequency. The game cartridges we use here are the same ones used in Japan and USA.
Not all TVs will like the output, though. I have a TV that works fine with both 525l/60fps and 625l/50fps as long as it uses either NTSC or PAL-M color carrier. Another TV I have will fail to sync to a 625l/50fps signal unless it uses the European color carrier (or maybe one of those ones used in Paraguay, Argentina or other 50Hz countries in South America, haven't checked thoroughly).
But if you're going to use the HDMI output, it doesn't really matter, most TVs and computer monitors will accept a wide range of frame rates and line counts over HDMI just fine. Component and composite is a bit of hit and miss, different TVs can be either very flexible or not at all with analog inputs, but with HDMI I've found that they tend to be usually quite flexible.
@@gcolombelli don’t know for sure if you were replying to my comment but you could totally be right! Don’t have the most knowledge about this but from personal experience my European pal console couldn’t play Japanese games. Could a converter perhaps help?
@@gcolombelli The Everdrive emulates the correct pif for the console even if the rom doesnt match so it runs but if you take a pal game and plug it in it wont run
@@LetsPlayKeldeo That's something I completely overlooked. It's entirely possible that the Everdrive is emulating different CIC models and changing headers / "magic numbers" to evade region locks.
Something is wrong with your store. Your shirt prices are 116 dollars a piece and your n64 are 1100 dollars each XD I think it broke
Thanks for the heads up but I am not seeing that on my end
I recently bought one pre modded off a different seller, everything works fine on a tv but once plugged into my elgato capture card the audio stutters really hard. Not sure if anyone else is having that issue or know how to fix it.
That’s something I’ve been experiencing too. Don’t know how to fix that yet unfortunately
Down to 32$ now. Not a bad buy. Wonder if it would fit the Pikachu edition.
Greetings, beautiful video! Unfortunately there are many reports of incompatibilities of the Hispeedido with many TVs due to bad HDMI protocol implementation. Also, some users show reports of swapped audio stereo channels - if there is audio at all. Could you make a follow-up video, testing the stereo audio (SM64 waterfall) and different modern HDMI TVs and displays? Thanks!
Is there input lag with this mod?
What about the Retro GEM
Can you still use regular analog s-video on a crt after installing this mod?
yes
@ woah ok
Question does the HDMI out also do sound? or is it only for higher quality picture?
This was informative, thanks.
I wouldn't mind this cheaper mod as long as I can use a HDMI output on my N64 then it's fine.
What's a good aftermarket N64 controller that uses a modern thumbstick like in a Dualshock 4?
An N64 BlueRetro adapter would allow you to use any modern bluetooth controller on your 64 I believe. I think you can even use a Dualshock 4 too.
I can't wait for the Analogue 3D (4K N64 console) to be back in stock. I'm going to buy one. In white.
Mine sometimes appears distorted on menus that output 480i , like in Pokemon stadium or the homescreen on the ever drive. Sometimes it displays it normally and sometimes it's distorted. I'm trying to figure out if it's my soldering or if its normal for the mod kit, all 240p content displays fine. Did you evec experience this?
The only weird stuff I’ve experienced is in the menu of my flash cart and that’s only every once in a while and not consistently
I'm going to have to do this to my n64 my old tv is kicking the bucket. Also have you seen the new GBC display on rgrs? It has color desaturated settings, and 20 brightness settings ....looks interesting. I believe it's hispeedido not sure doesn't say on rgrs
link to extended video doesn't work for me.
epic mod bro!
It’ll work next week. I release these videos a week early for the members
Gotta buy this
Does anyone know if this budget mod works on PAL consoles?
How is the latency of the kit, does it introduce more lag or less lag then normal kits?
I didn’t notice any latency. I don’t see why there would be any
There shouldn't be any latency, looks like most internal HDMI mods use a small FPGA to get the digital video signal directly from the RDP and transmit it over HDMI, I don't think they're trying to do anything weird that could introduce latency, like buffering / frame rate matching. The external ones though, I wouldn't trust them, most look like cheap composite to HDMI converters and it's very likely that there will be some buffering and lag on those.
pls bring back n64 modded consoles on retroremastered
There are still 6 of them up for sale
Hey i did that mod but sadly after i installed it and wanted to test it the power lamp didnt turn on and so there was no life sign of the n64 i dont know what i did wrong the connections looks pretty good so what could happen?
did you put the screws back correctly
@@Damian808UKOfficialyeah ofc
@@MrAkros-ym6gt just asking, the mistake has been made
Bridged connections on the GPU chip I think. Same thing happened to me , removed the bridges, and had to wait 12 hours with the PSU not plugged in to the outlet ( to let it reset ) to try it again and it worked.
Hey I have an n64 will this mod work with all n64’s or specific models?
It works with them all as far as I know
Well, i did the mod and it looks great but i am getting no audio. Anyone know what the issue could be?
I have the same problem
@@keeslp4690 I read somewhere that pins 16-18 could be the problem. I resoldered but didnt seem to help. I tried on another N64 and everything worked perfectly. No issues. Im really not sure why the first one didnt work.
@@joecrackin3783 in that case I'll have another look. I'll let you know if it fixes the problem
Wow looks about the same as svideo 😮
Would appreciate some help from anyone!! I’m getting sound but my tv is only displaying blue and yellow horizontal lines. No bridging of pins. Any ideas?
Stay away from Speedido mods, they add a lot of input lag
Or just play the games on pc with some cheap Bluetooth controller
I get your point, but I personally find it cool to play on original hardware with original carts. I love emulation as much as the next person (hell, most of my DS library as a kid was inside of an R4, and it still is as I got one new and got rid of the timebomb), but it can sometimes feel like digital gaming with extra steps, but that's just a personal thought
That’s boring. 🫠
