I DONT WANT NOBODY MESSING WITH MY ANKLES, MY ANXIETY LEVEL WOULD BE TO HIGH
I'm with everyone else where I just hate people who have to rip subs to get a win, but to be fair... he gave him the eyes 👀 for a longgg ass time
no bro, he only used that as a distraction before actually applying the sub, which he totally ripped
I get that it’s a high level competition....but dang. I hate subs you don’t have time to tap to.
It’s gotta stop
Jeeez that's rough even for a comp haha
Well thats a trip to the hospital
Plus 3 months on crutches and re learning how to walk😢 wish I had better rotators/stronger ligaments but im not blessed on genetic lottery 😅
I didn’t even know who was gonna get subbed until the last minute
Brought the martial to the art!
TOO MUCH. could you imagine a peruvian necktie with that intensity... DEAD
Gianni has no entanglement/control of the guys hips/kneeline. This is as oldschool as heelhooks get, its there - rip it. Much like getting a wrist lock at the highest level, its a savage tap or its bust. The point should be that it was ripped because it would not be finished any other way and not that he ripped it on purpose. 10k baby!!!
Not entirely true. You don’t always need the cross ashi to finish slowly. I don’t think a rip is ever appropriate.
Yeah that's true, but for me there's just something about the fact that it lacks the meticulous technique and control that a methodical entry into a leg lock has, that makes it less impressive.
that's really fucked up. 10k isn't worth that. fuck bjj competitions I guess. it's just ripping someone's foot off doing a move that doesn't even work outside of the ruleset since you can just hit anyone fucking with your legs
Well it will work if you rip it
Cross ashi is just a single leg entanglement of many. Without a leg entanglement you have zero control of your opponent’s hips it’s a flawed fulcrum.. when you turn his foot to hip bridge into the knee he can turn his hips/ turn In defense especially when you move slowly … as a brown belt if you put that on me slowly I’d rather be injured than tap to a flawed fulcrum in a competition..
career ender
You can literally hear it pop
i don't know, that seemed kind of vicious
Man you could hear it😳😳
Shitttt you can
@@joaquinmaria1581 I had to watch it more than once but yeah
The risks are too great for those who have work the next day and cannot because they competed, then left the tournament with a torn ligament in the knee.
The rules state Average people can’t do twisting knee locks in comps it’s only no gi black belts 20-34 ages ( or in non ibjjf its often called advanced divisions- that are purple brown black belt in one) These guys are young black belts who live on the mats. He’s probably back on the mat ( I got my lcl torn in a heelhook at 22 and the only thing that sucked was no mat time)
Ooof. That knee is messed up for sure. Buddy wasn’t limping bad right then and there, but I’m sure the next day was rough.
That’s competitions for you.
You Can’t lie there and chill either. Always assume your opponent has something up their sleeve
Damn
Dude goes for leg locks then you gotta expect nothing less back
Dude seemed to have been giving him adequate time to tap before ripping it but he kept hesitating to do so. Even after you can see the guy who had it done to him nod to his opponent like it was fine.
👏🏼
Definitely going to be controversial but im ok with it. Its competition, sometimes you have to rip things fast. In a boxing competition people get koed. Part of the game. Id rather get koed than have my knee ripped apart. If you dont like it dont compete
I agree. It’d be a WAY different story if this was just at like an open mat at the gym.
@@opticstem5496 agreed 10k is on the line lol 🤘🏽
I won't
@@joaquinmaria1581 10k isn't much dude
@@ongobongo8333 for a Jiu Jitsu match, 10k is a significant amount
Its a competition, you know the risks going in.
Grappling used to be so much more fun to watch 20 years ago. All upper body subs and no footsie.
Ouch. Thats gonna be sore for a bit
No, its not gonna be sore. It's a torn ligament, the very thing that connects the muscles to the bones has snapped in half, possibly two have them. He will never be the same again.
Just seems to me now everyone is just going for heel hooks and leg subs. Just get on the mat, sit on your ass, grab an ankle and break it. Sad.
No era necesario apretar asi
Adrenaline, competition, apprehension. No blame. Just a part of the game.
False
Nah that was fucked up lol
Good thing this wasn't karate or my man would have been Dq'd.
gotta respect karate more that this bullshit
@@ongobongo8333 10000% this bs would destroy karate in any situation.
He let go as soon as the guy Tapped..the end.
It's High level competition Jiu-jitsu not tennis..
JJ guys will try to escape from any position. I say rip it cause you don't wanna lose your position and get your ankle locked in
And this is why my kids compete in basketball and not boxing or grappling. You can’t “play” grappling in competition.
They needa learn to fight. This is not the reason why
yeah, i dont care it's a competition and there's a 10k prize. that move was desperate and performed with zero care for the opponent. you can get close to zero, but should never be it. unless it's a life or death situation. i think this is unacceptable.
They are pros, its the risk you accept, there is no requirement to apply subs slowly.
@@scarred10 the guy that got hooked isn't a pro lol. He is just some dude.
@@billycost893 just a dude in a pro competition with legit black belts knowing heel hooks are game. He was going for his own. So someone can try and rip my leg apart but I can’t to his sitting right in my lap?
@@scarred10that should be a thing though because you dont know if given enough time he wouldve tapped. Thats not really the point of jiu jitsu.
He gave the guy like 5 seconds notice before doing submission. Go watch GR or other high level heel hook videos, people will tap as soon as the heel is locked into position (under the armpit). Before pressure is even applied. Once the heel is locked in, you lost anyway so might as well tap early.
There’s so many ways to not get subbed with your free leg, I don’t know where to start. This should never happen.
I'm sure you'd show Gianni how its done.
@@rosstrent1877 that doesn’t make any sense, he won. Dude shouldn’t have let him bully his free leg like that. Stomp his armpit before he ever grabs it or invert and kick out afterwards , lock your ashi, do something 🤷♂️ he just froze and stayed squared up.
@@fatguyonthc like I said. I'm sure you would have shown him how it's done. Go teach a seminar on how it SHOULD be done. I'm sure you'll do well.
@@rosstrent1877 He’s talking about guy who got subbed…. Not Gianni
@@thebeastisback1996 right, keyboard jiujitsu guy didn't think about that. I would say the guy on bottom outside ashi was not laced which may have prevented the heel hook.
Karma is a bitch. No doubt Gianni will get his, if he hasn’t already
