I don't understand what went wrong with mitsu ?
They had 3000 GT
FTO, Eclipse, and the world beater EVO. They even dominated the rallying with their ralliart division for motorsports.
There's a speculation that they were going to run behind the scenes military projects in Japan. Mitsubishi group was the supporters of ww2 in Asia, they're the one who were all for the war as they produced bullets to tanks to aircraft carriers.
When the Abe administration took over which his grandad was the ww2 warlord, he started to push the country into an extreme rightist movement. He was also seen a lot with the Mitsubishi ceos, which lead to the Mitsubishi motors losing funding as they were making military prototypes behind the scenes.. yea.. thats about it.
They need mainstream car sales in order to survive.
lack of funding and mismanagement. That and Nissan (one of their main sports car contenders) buying them out seemingly to castrate it and pick it apart like a pack of carrion birds.
@Beast03 as a 3000gt owner, I refuse to drive nissans.

As an fto owner, I appreciate this. Just a shamethat the badge is not being fulfilled anymore. Such fantastic engineering lost. Why couldn't another Japanese manufacturer buy them out and save them?

Here is one brand that has just completely give up. I used to be a big fan of this brand. But I am already waiting for decades and it is just blank. Nothing interesting. Possibly the most boring brand in Europe at the moment. Or maybe they beat Dacia. But I would not call that an achievement.
