It’s a mess out here. We barely put a small dent in the situation but if we remove one piece of trash it’s better than it was before.

I grew up wading in our creek. I loved it and all the little funky treasures I found. I kept them in a box that I hid in the berry bushes because that sort of activity was frowned upon and I was really not allowed in the creek. Luckily my brother was good at fishing...he scavenged an iron skillet and brought it to a usable condition. On rare occasion he shared his catch with me.

12:21 Thanks for sharing the information about the Mountain Dew bottle. I have a similar bottle like it, but it does not have a label. I thought it was a huge syrup bottle or Sprite bottle. I am still learning mostly from your videos.

I don't like paper straws either! I use my metal straw that came with a nice brush to keep it clean.
I bought metal straws to use everywhere. It's really nice .
That glass thing you said could be a candle holder. It looks like one of those things you put in your flower pot to water you plants. Great video as always!!!!
Put it in a flower pot , add water.
Of the two adventures you have, the creek walks are my favorite!---I've found that if I stick my paper straw in my drink right away, then reverse it when I get ready to drink, the wetted end is tolerable.

Love your video and I love what you are doing. As far as straws go, I cannot drink from the paper straws. The texture and the taste nearly cause me to gag. I have a really nice collection of reusable straws (along with straw cleaning brushes) I keep a couple in the car in a zip lock bag, a couple in my hand bag, I make sure I try to have one with me every where I go.
We're solidly in the pop-up thunderstorm season. I need to go look at my Mtn Dew bottles, now. 😆

Y'all do a great job cleaning up the river and I have a few antiques like a 1902 sears and roebuck catalog which is about over a hundred years old also keep a look out for water moccasins
I always enjoy watching your videos. First thing I did when I got home from vacation was watch A.A. Sad to see so much junk in the creeks. I know paper straws are better for the environment!,but I can’t stand them either.😜I always look forward to your videos no matter if it’s creek walking bottle dump digging or metal detecting videos. lightning is something not to mess around! the paper straws that I have used collapse before I
am done drinking! they just do not maintain their shape like plastic ones. yes some days you find
treasure, other times you just clean up the stream. both are a good thing to do!

The little drinking glass looked like the bottom of an old A&W mug. Did you have any of those drive up’s around your parts? Many memories as a kid seeing the A&W Bears and dad would stop. Best rootbeer floats.

Any gold in those creeks? Just wondering…..🤔 Interesting finds. The Mountain Dew bottle going for $11.000 is insane. Imo it wasn’t even that nice. The label was all torn. Hi Brandon when I was a kid, we had paper straws with wax on them they worked fine then they replaced them with plastic ones now its paper with no wax they are no good.
Good creek walk! I prefer plastic straws, they hold up better.

Metal straws,!!! Come w cleaner brush and now I think plastic straws are like paper ones to you. Metal seems clean, curved edge so no sharps like plastic and they are temp as drink so ice cold drinks starts the minute the straw enters mouth!! Cool colors also and stay in drink better so always same height. Dang I should sell these things!! Lol

You can wash plastic straws and reuse them. McDonald’s straws are great for reuse.
My step-dad used to say, "Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it."
Try out a stainless steel straw. I got 6 from Amazon and the cleaning brush was included. In a glass of cold iced tea, the metal straws stay really cold and I love them. I didnt even know there were paper straws anymore! And yes, we have become a very trashy, throw it away, out of sight, out of mind society.

Paper straws break down in the drink.
When you take out glass trash, would you reconsider and leave whole bottles. What not be old enough for you, a veteran bottle digger, would be an exciting find for beginners.
Only one problem with this is that glass doesn’t stay in the same place and often rolls with the water causing it to break and turn to shards.

No your not a weirdo I'm old enough to have seen paper straws and plastic straws come into fashion now they want paper straws back. My problem with paper is they collapse when the get real soaked and if you drinking a milk shake and you draw on the straw your going to get one the straw collapsed or it dissolves and you get paper in you shake

The glue on the paper straws can contain gluten .

Why do we need ANY kind of straws in the first place?
Often times servers at restaurants touch the rim of our drinks while carrying them. A straw helps solve the germ problem.
